Overall my experience here has been pretty good. Almost everyone you see in the morning will say hello or give you a wave, pretty positive atmosphere. Project managers will call to check in on you to make sure jobs are running smoothly and are quick to answer any questions you may have. All training is paid for and good benefits. Co-Workers are competent and understand the scope of the job. Owners are religious and you can see in their management style that they apply good values to the company and employees. Overall a good place to work if you can get past the long hours.

This is the nicest place that I have worked at, and the staff here is amazing and friendly. They are always willing to help those that put the effort into their work. I learned more about the industry here than I did anywhere else for the last 12 years. The down side (depending on your point of view), is that this place like most in this industry require you to put up at least half your day working and sometimes out of town work is included for the week or weeks if out of province. Wessuc does offer a lot but it also asks for the same as well. If you are looking for a place where you can work most of the day and get paid well to do it, then look no further.

As a member of the Wessuc Environmental group for a matter of almost 3 years, I had the opportunity to work with many different members of management as well as within the work-force. All of whom were extremely accommodating and willing to work with each individual to ensure their success and involvement within the day to day workings. Although the job at times does have long, strenuous hours, it was a great opportunity to get in touch with the inner workings of various different operations throughout Ontario. I would highly, and still do, recommend the opportunity to those looking for a well paid, rewarding job.

If you’re not family you won’t fit in. They mismanage the shop and fleet to the point the fleet suffers major breakdowns which leads trucks and equipment to be down for weeks until we can get around to the repairs. A typical day at work is full of confusion and lacks basic direction, tooling and information to do our jobs effectively. The most enjoyable part of the job is the diversity of equipment which is the only thing that keeps mechanics coming back day to day. They could benefit from a restructure of the policies and procedures from the top down. 

Start work at a set time and head to site. Sometimes location can be a bit far but they also offer out of town work for some far jobs but that’s completely voluntary. 
Management is by far the best I have ever had. They care about you not just money and work
Some day the work task can be very physical and other days can be a bit slow. But it’s how you want to make it. 


I very much enjoyed my time at Wessuc, I would very much like to return, however they have lost one of their major contracts, therefore they are light on the work I was doing for the upcoming year.

Wessuc is a good company to work for, safety is the number 1 priority, work hours vary week by week, but they keep you busy.
You learn how to operate various types of equipment and machinery.
Hardest part of the job is the same as any, figuring out what is expected of you at the beginning. You get placed on a crew and they teach you a lot of what is going on, however every job site varies in setup and you are almost never doing the same thing as you did on the last.

Unpredictable work days and don't know if we are working until the night before.
Management are all confused and can't manage.
Hardest part of the job is getting covered by bio waste and not having a wash station or any other means to clean ourselves.
Most enjoyable part of the day is going home to shower 3 times with hot water.

Very nice people for the most part. Almost all of the work is out of town. After hours and a lot of weekends are demanded as well. If you don’t have a life or want one, this is an excellent place to work. If you are not family, don’t expect to get promoted. Some parts of the job are absolutely disgusting. That being said, management are very nice and the owner is the same. Wages are excellent if you are willing to work overtime constantly

If you’re not breathing in human fecal matter, then you will be covered in it. What a terrible experience this was. Human Resources didn’t even respond to me for weeks on end. Workplace injuries are common. Management is much the same as what products you’re working with. There are however some wonderful people that work there. This is a short term job.
