I have worked for white mud for several years ..I have always felt welcomed by every Forman and employee that I was introduced too. Whitemud always has up date safety and will not hesitate to get you the right tools for the job to ensure you can complete the task the best and safest way that you can ..I have never worked for a company that has been so dedicated to there workers and safety and I knew when I had joined there team that I was gonna learn from some of the best formans and journeyman in the industry and become the best Ironworker I could become. They will take the time to show you any aspect in the trade you want to learn and they help you focus on the things you need to progress on..they keep you up to date on all your safety certificates and will help push you threw your apprenticeship.. They give you opportunities to do it all . Finding a company where you feel great about going to work each day is hard to find in our industry ..your not just a number on a piece of paper to them and they go out of there way to let you know that ..

Worked for these guys for a while, they will not hand out raises without you basically threatening to leave when they are short handed. only other way you are moving up is if you are best friends with the foreman/supervision, raises arent based on work its a popularity contest. No job security even for the higher ups, everyone is expendable. Watched a foreman lose half his perks because the company bid a job poorly, what a joke. Left and made 4 dollars more an hour with the UNION Local 97 without even asking for a raise, plus started building a pension day 1, wish i had just started there.
ALSO - they say 35-39 an hour ...absolutely not, no one makes over 36 as a field welder/ironworker especially not to start even with a red seal.
Crew was nice overall good guys, just the management is trash.


Working at WIW has been a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere is wonderful. The people I work with are kind, team players. I find that the work/life balance is exceptional compared to other places.

I believe if you work hard, you will be rewarded & there is always room to advance. 

I truly believe the company (and the people who work here) genuinely care about their employees and I am grateful to be a part of the team.

Management sucks.  Its super clicky.  Dont treat you with respect.  Only promote people that are friends with management.  You never see upper management, they probably dont even know who you are.  You're just an employee number to them.  Pays good, projects are some good, some bad.  They dont care about the culture of the company.  No perks like christmas parties, group activities, etc.   No team building.

We were very busy every day, but worked well as a team.
I learned to operate the Fabtrol system, to print drawings and process the drawings for different projects.
I liked the management and the way work was approached.
My co-workers were very helpful and we worked well together.
The hardest part for me was working with the Imperial system, as I was used to the Metric system.
I enjoyed learning a new industry and system, and broaden my horizons

I have joined WIW 2019 right after graduating from university and grew with the company over nearly 3 years. I have seen a lot of positive and constructive feedback from my direct supervisor and ended up getting promoted to a higher position last year. The office culture is one of the things I love the most about WIW, they are more like the family members who support each other and help you in tight situations. 



This place is toxic to work at, management is a boys club with no real room for growth. Forced overtime hours and they also fire employees for no reason. Management only cares about production no matter the cost. Safety goes out the window if deadlines need to be met. They will lowball your wages and pay you the minimum amount possible. Poorly greedy run company do not work here

Awful place 2 work. Foreman dont care or train anyone. Hire all 1st years to do welding and journeyman welders are pretty much fitters. Management doesnt care about workers your disposable here and they let you know it.  No organization or morale. Safety is a joke, literally tipped a flat deck trailer over when i was their and tried 2 sweep it under the rug, almost took out a support beam.  

Typical shop. Learned how to use equipment not commonly used where I was from and techniques different from what I was used to. management is fair but can be better. Co-workers are ok and supportive of each other. I don't know the hardest part of my job because they are all hard which is I think is natural in this line of work. Enjoyable part is getting along well with workmates and the monthly pizza or barbecue days

My time was fun , whether working on big projects or small simple fabrication. Was able to receive lots of experience in different fields, but it used to be a place where they treated their workers honestly and fairly. Now not so much, it's all about favouritism and whoever can be better friends with management.
