Telecom can be a tricky topic in Canada. There are too many options and components while everyone always wants to pay the least. Here at Wireless Wave and T-Booth, I was their one stop solution to every telecom needs catering and providing custom plans that suits everyone's needs. A usual day would consist me researching and building a plan that works for each client. I learned all the details regarding the cellular providers of Canada and all the latest smartphones there are in the market. Along with my co-workers, I constantly worked on bettering my knowledge about the latest technology. The hardest part was sometimes to work long hours after the end of the day fixing errors that could take hours at times. The most enjoyable part was handing clients their new devices and seing them happy. I used to set appointments a week after purchase for them to come and talk about their devices and any  things they might find difficult within this time.

The sales manager is amazing in every sense of the word. They consistently lead by example, combining strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of both the product and the people they manage. Their ability to motivate the team creates an environment where everyone feels supported, confident, and driven to succeed. Challenges are handled with professionalism and clarity, turning obstacles into learning opportunities rather than setbacks. The sales manager communicates expectations clearly while remaining approachable and open to feedback, which builds trust across the team. They recognize individual strengths and help each team member grow, whether through coaching, encouragement, or constructive guidance. Results speak for themselves, as targets are not only met but often exceeded under their leadership. Beyond numbers, they foster a positive culture that values teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Their dedication, consistency, and passion make a lasting impact on both the team’s performance and morale.

Company does not pay overtime.
Most stores are short staffed and employees are over worked, and miss lunch and coffee breaks.
Employee's commison pay check is attached to selling insurance with every sale  (which is expensive and not worth the value for the customers) so thesales associates miss their target and get paid less.
Company is slashing on commissions  structure every  year making it harder for the employee to hit thier sales target earn decent living. 
Company has not invested in their computer systems, slow and lagging software takes up hours to complete one sale and can be very stressful. Employees end up staying late to finish the sale but don't get paid any overtime. 
Employee work space is poorly designed,   chairs are hard metal and can easily  cause lower back pains working 8 hour shift. 
Company employees at store level are bully and harras new employees, management is least bothered and takes no action becuase bully is good at sales. 

A typical day at Glentel starts with putting on your name tag, reviewing current promotions, checking inventory, and keeping the kiosk tidy. Throughout the day, you're expected to engage customers by asking the right questions to understand their needs and offer solutions that deliver real value.

During my time here, I've learned how mobility and residential services work, how to confidently sell warranties, and gained insights into what makes effective management.

The workplace culture is competitive but team-oriented, with consistent training and a strong focus on striving to be the best. The hardest part of the job is the sales pressure, but the most rewarding part is helping people - friends, family, and complete strangers - save money on something that often causes them stress.

I would have a different experience everyday and establish good relationships with customers that would get me referals
I learned that Sales is what I was meant to do, Glentel gave me the tools to believe in myself and prove it with my track record
I had the best Manager and co-workers out of any other job, we were like a family.
The hardest part of the job was when I would let someone down and have to live with it. 
The most enjoyable part about the job was the endless amount of opportunity, the incentives and appreciation event parties that we got to attend, the money was better then most places that require a masters in business, being well known and having the connections to take care of any problem related to cell phones by compensating my loyal customer base.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I really enjoyed the Flexibility of the hours, my store manager was great and laid back as long as productivity was up. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I guess the most stressful would have to be meeting top level sales for commissions, it could be the final days of a pay period and you could need to sell a few more items to jump up a level increasing your pay. A nice stressful period when you hit your goals. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was laid-back and supportive. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Training never stopped. Looked at daily, weekly and monthly goals and discussed ways to hut those goals with my manager and coworkers. A real team environment.

A typical day meant juggling sales targets, customer issues, and coaching the team while buried in endless admin tasks. I learned how to stay resilient and lead under constant pressure. Management only cared about their own KPIs, bonuses, and egos, ignoring frontline feedback and work-life balance. The culture was toxic—constant micromanagement, monitoring cameras for minor lateness, how you dressed, even if you had coffee on the table. Expectations were unrealistic with no real support. The hardest part was doing multiple roles with no backup while sacrificing personal time. The only positive was watching my team grow despite the chaos.

I’ve learned valuable sales techniques, product knowledge, and how to tailor solutions to diverse client needs. Management is supportive, approachable, and committed to employee development. The workplace culture fosters teamwork, inclusivity, and motivation through consistent recognition and encouragement. The hardest part of the job is managing complex customer concerns during peak hours, but these moments build resilience and problem-solving skills. The most enjoyable part is helping customers find the right tech solutions and working alongside a collaborative, goal-driven team.

A typical work day in Wirelesswave is more about selling and maximizing sales as much as possible. I started working as sales associate and achived position as a Manager in Target mobile in same company, I have learned how to give your best in order to give legendary guest experinece by providing knowledge about what is best and suits a guest needs. Going to management and co- workers it is very fun and helping enviornment. Hardest part of the job is to manage time to do additional work because prioirty is to sell more and that is most enjoyable part as well becuase more you sell more money you make.
