I did learn a lot while working here, I was pushed to work hard and encouraged to keep setting new goals for myself and eventually ended up accomplishing things I never would have imagined possible. However, as time went on I also felt like the manager discouraged me from exploring new opportunities within the company. I felt like there was a lot of favoritism going on and whether I was the one benefitting or losing out because of this it was always noticeably unfair and created a divide between the employees. It also created situations of being bullied by the manager, which was only made worse if it was brought up to him or to the general manager. More often than not, the manager was incapable of separating personal conflicts from work situations and this made it very difficult for anyone to accomplish daily work tasks. Some days could be very daunting especially when the manager refused to let things go or would continuously hang mistakes over our heads.
The relationships built with my coworkers was the biggest highlight of my time here, but the bullying and huge lack of support became unbearable, the pay is decent in the beginning but is definitely not worth the headache. Overall my time at Woody's was a great learning experience, both personally and professionally. I am very happy I finally found the courage to move on when I did; there are tons of other jobs similar to this one that are willing to pay more and treat you better.

Compensation appears to be set based on decisions made by the Alberta head office and may not always align with compensation expectations in British Columbia. Opportunities for advancement exist, but I found that job security and career progression could be difficult to predict.

One experience that stood out involved an employee who interviewed for a management position and was terminated without cause. The termination decision was reportedly made by senior leadership based outside the local branch, and the notice was delivered by a manager from another department rather than someone within the employee's direct reporting structure. This situation raised concerns regarding communication, leadership involvement, and consistency in management practices.

In my experience, high-performing employees were often assigned additional responsibilities without corresponding adjustments to compensation or formal recognition of the expanded role. Communication regarding pay increases was inconsistent, as information shared with employees differed between individuals.

The company hired employees into departments outside their previous experience, and the training and process was not sufficient to support long-term success in those roles. Overall, there were opportunities to gain experience, but improvements in compensation transparency, training, workload management, communication, and employee development would enhance the workplace experience.

Woodys uses their employees makes them feel like they are a part of the team, tells them on  regular basis they are a part of the solution to the problems as soon as the customers start to regain faith in the dealership they revamp and fire the employees with no just cause no reasons no write ups or warnings and start over with angry customers. Woodys is their own worst enemy and 90% of the customers hate the place, just when the customer is starting to get some where and the employee is able to handle the wide volume of negative experiences and start to help the customer to resolve the issues woodys fires the employee its the story that never ends.  In the Edmonton store anyway.

As a sales person being on the sales floor is your primary income stream as well as phone calls, face book, web leads and anything else that can fill your pipeline. 

But here you are expected to do your own delivery and Orientation. This time expected is 2.5hrs minimum per travel trailer. So when it's comes to a A class motor home (where the $is) the orientation is closer to 6 hrs. 

Most other lots have a delivery person go there. The time off the floor will take from your over all earning potential. 

Also being family helps either related to ownership or management. 

There are better places to be a sales person.

Company treats you fairly and is like a big family

In sales you have to perform and sell units while there is patience on the part of the managers there is always limit to non performance.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very Good, attitude is good most everybody gets along and wants to give customers a great experience

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come on shift, get relaxed and go to work calling customers and prospecting for new ones.

I had lots of fun working here and gained lots of knowledge. There was time for fun and time to work and it was known when it was time for what. The expectations are very high. But easy to achieve if you are a hard working individual with a positive mindset. You Need to be able to take critisism because you will get it, but it will make you be a better worker and a better person. I have gained skills that I will be able to use for life working in this position. During show season the days can be long, continuous, and demanding.

watching corporate run the company into the ground

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible, floating daggers everywhere. The mission statement must be to promote incompetent individuals and punish reliable, responsible hard workers. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Answer phones, help customer with parts, book in service work, call customers about warranty work.

I worked for this company for 4.5 years, I was offered 0 training but I worked hard,and learned on my own. I was reliable and really gave it my all.
Then I was let go, I was not given a reason other than I was working too much overtime and that I did not fire another employee????
She still works there by the way.

So many great people work there, and I had a great boss (who had nothing to do with me getting fired, he was even on vacation when I was let go.) I felt at times that the air there was thick with anxiety, and anger.

could be a great place to work..... but it is not.

Work independently, shifts were favourable for a life/work  balance! Nice to have day shifts and weekends off! The work was good , able to control my own environment for the most part! Challenging at some points but manageable! Unfortunately they had favouritism and tolerated bullying in my department, even though it caused them to go through endless amounts of employees because of it! 

Coming to Woody's RV World in Leduc, was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made.    The Money is Great.  The Management are Fantastic.
There is lots of Training to ease into the position.  I have never sold an RV before but with a little training and help from co-workers, it was an easy transition.   Hours are perfect.  Busy in the Summer and a bit slower in the Winter.
