Work Practicum

In a typical day in my previous experience, I fulfilled various  administrative assistant tasks of sorting Incoming and outgoing mails, as well assisting clients on phone, drafting documents and emails, filing, and entering data in Excel spreadsheet. I also provided strong customer service and resolved customer issues.

I learned to work on workload place and manage my time and make sure  the job is done accurately.

I had good management in my previous experience.

according to my co-worker, I really work well with others (one of the comment of my supervisor on work practicum evaluation.)

the hardest part of the job was handling difficult clients.

the most enjoyable part of the job was filing, sorting mails and data entry.

A great experienced to enhanced my skills while having my practicum in Alberta Health Services. The management and staff are very friendly and approachable. The hardest part of my practicum were I have to organize the filing rooms. I have to organize alphabetically from A to Z. The most challenging part of my practicum is to locate all the folders that i need to terminate, because the filing room is not organize yet. But after my practicum I am happy because  It is my accomplishment. Everyone appreciated what  I did.

• Update Employment area at City Hall
• Help applicants navigate the application process
• Maintain integrity of electronics and hard copy files
• Distribute job postings to various Hiring Managers with interview package
• Receive and sort hardcopy applications, enter data into the Taleo system
• Maintain daily recruitment reports by forwarding emails to specific unions
• File and distribute employment documents to Employment Records
• Assist office staff and perform other duties as required

A typical day involves taking and transferring phone calls, entering students' attendance,photocopying, faxing and typing up documents.

I learned that one can be multi-task and still be efficient in what you do as long as you plan your day.

The management was understanding.

My co-workers were team players and fun to work with .

The hardest part is dealing with difficult parents.

The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to have an answer to different enquiries.

Every day is different. Flats and letter mail are sorted into the case. Once completed then the sequenced mail is bundled together with the corresponding letter mail, according to postal codes, into appropriate stops. Packets and Parcels are then numbered according to Stops distinguishing which items are for signature, safe drop, collect, leave at the door or parcel box. All mail, packets, parcels and flyers are loaded into your vehicle and transported to appropriate sites.

I have learned lot of communication skills and amazing vegetarian culture.

i worked with Hongkong people who is very polite and friendly.

sometimes you need to learn more Canadian culture then you can do better when you deal with local customers.

I have known many different people from all over the world which is the best part of this job.

I am a good team player, I enjoyed while working and at the end of day I feel sense of accomplishment.  I also a quick learner, while working with Legal Services I learn to work on their software very fast now I am comfortable to work in office.  I am alway on time in offece, work very hard and meet deadlines to complete given projects.  Greet every coworker and talk to them.  Keep smiling.

As a receptionist, I have to prioritize my job in help clients at the front desk while the phone rings. I have learned to remain calm at all times and treat all people with dignity, respect, and maintain strict confidentiality. The management and my co-workers are fun to work with. There is a room of laughter and fun in the workplace.

I have been volunteering here since May, 2014 and I love it.  I did my practicum here for school, as well.  I have learned a lot of new things, the most important being "team effort".  These ladies are wonderful to work with, I just wish a position were available here for me part or full time.
