If you choose to work for this company be prepared to:

- Work incredibly hard and be grossly underpaid
- High pressure sales
- Have your concerns dismissed or downplayed
- No paid sick days 
- Be micromanaged to your absolute breaking point

The reviews speak for themselves. The pay is a whopping 10 cents above minimum wage (with $1.25/per hour bonus if you're not sick or late but if you are it's gone from your whole 2 week paycheque) Considering the workload it sends a very clear message that they do not care about their employees only their bottom line.
Their "comeback" is compensation and benefits are in line with what other call centres are providing. This is not true. It's actually below the national average. Again, and I can't stress this enough, it DOES NOT match the workload that you get. You are pressured to sell and up-sell all day, everyday even to people who don't need anything extra. Everything you do is critiqued. If you have a good call supervisors, without fail, will try to find something wrong with it. 

If you go to eComs website you'll see smiling person with a headset on in a nice open space next to equally happy coworkers. In reality the call centre looks like the inside of school portables with everyone crammed into cubicles under bright neon lights. Yes, there is a smell. 

Started working from home when the pandemic hit and the micromanaging got worse, if you even mentioned any difficulties with certain processes or procedures you would get a "non-answer" and nothing would change. My advice to management is to stop making excuses for poor treatment of employees and start listening. 
My advice to you is to know your self-worth and to not apply at ecom. 



The people that work here are great, but the management and job itself are just unbearable.

The overall feeling of working here is not positive. Employee feedback and morale overall is very low. 

Don't call in sick, because if you do you need a doctors note. No sick days unpaid or paid. Get sick? Use your vacation days that aren't even paid. (Paid out like $7 per paycheck). 

That's right, during a pandemic if you are too sick to be in the office, you need to go to a different office with other people to get a doctor to give you a piece of paper that tells them exactly what you told them. 

They wanted everyone to return to the office in December, after telling everyone it would be January. Perfect timing during the winter and cold/flu season.. then right when they started bringing people back Omicron hit. Poor planning which is all company motivated no care for us employees.

Instead of paying a decent wage they dangle an attendance bonus over your head. If turnover and employee retention is an issue, if attendance is an issue, its not the employees fault its management. Maybe if you paid people better, people would actually want to come into work.

The supervisors have quotas for coaching and micromanage everything that is done. During coaching's they start off with "What could you have done better" no positive feedback, rarely any encouragement just nitpicking on what you didn't do. If the call was perfect they will find something.

Rumors, gossip and people talking behind your back is a problem and retaliation is a thing.

I am grateful to have worked from home throughout the pandemic and still had a job but a lot of people are very miserable here.


I worked here for 4 years and 9 months (never missed a day), until October 2019. I met many very generous people who shared their potlucks, snacks,  and conversations with me. They were terrific, and I thank and miss them all.
   In mid 2017  I had a meeting with upper management (not including the  WV pharmacy owner-who was always nice to me) in which some things were said to me -hurtful things- that should never have been said. They also downgraded my status as an Ecom employee.  So, I could 
no longer trust that they had my interests at heart. This sense of mistrust was to have negative repurcussions going forward, and prove fatal at the end.
   And the end was abysmal.  In my final days at Ecom I know that 
several people were asked questions about me and except for one person, I was betrayed. At this crucial time I was not consulted, and
therefore unable to answer any concerns about me. WHO DOES THIS TO SOMEONE? I know of at least one falsehood used against me, and this was disclosed to the EI office in order to deliberately deny any benifits I  wanted to claim. 
  Knowing my demise was imminent, I still worked dutifully until the cruel last day.  I put a lot of time and dedication into my job keeping the buildings dirt and bug free.
  From 2017 onwards things went downhill and in the end they decided to
condemn me to the unemployed.  What's sad is that I know most, if not all other employees are treated quite well by the compamy, but I was handled differently. 
I forgive all those who hurt me.

I LOVE this company! You get 40 hours per week not matter what, they do not send you home like other call centers do if the call volume is low. There is always work to do. 
The work schedule is flexible, they accommodate you, you can work weekends if you prefer that and get 2 days off during the week, they also have 4 10 hour shifts, you can get a 3 day weekend. 
There is a monthly incentive $$$ just for showing up on time!!!!
You get full benefits. You get vacation paid every paycheck you just need to save up so once you are ready to take your vacation you have the money.
Supervisors are knowledgeable, management/HR are super nice. You can provide feedback and they listen to you.
There is a lot of room to grow within the company, most people who started as a CSR they are in a management position now.
The owner of the company is a wonderful boss, he even comes by on weekends just to bring us coffee/tea and donuts. I've never ever worked at a company where the owner knows you by name.
They are keeping us safe during this pandemic, we can work from home and still get 40 hours per week!!!
On summer we get FREE food, Pancake breakfast, BBQ, food truck, pizza, company picnic, etc
Management even cooks for all the employees!!! 
They have a Christmas party with lots of food,prizes, employees recognition.
I'm so blessed to be working at eCom. This is a wonderful company, they treat you well and you have a guaranteed full paycheck.

Used to be a good company, but they are very micro managing.The pay is mediocre but better than minimum wage. They preach about helping people and saving lives and go on about million dollar months but the work load vs the pay isn't really compare.

I feel like managers it varies, some are great and some just don't care. 

Many colleagues I talk to are drained, mentally and physically working here it sucks.

There is a huge lack of communication between managers and people especially us working at home right now during a pandemic. lack of meetings, follow ups, just being in the dark, still expected to adhere to strict schedules when things happen while at home.

Was great, Bug infestations at the office, then they had a huge data breach, then trying to sell masks and hand sanitizer for extortion prices, and then being in the dark while working from home its really gone down hill

Also to speak about the comments from management about standards of pay, Indeed shows the winnipeg average is 15.23$ for this kind of work. e-Com pays like $12. 24/7 gave me an offer for 15$ Take that for what its worth.

They have their positives though, and I can see they are trying to make the place more fun which is exciting. 

I want to give a shout out to the past Custodian and the Current one, you both are amazing individuals and we all appreciate you so much

They refuse to pay you your legally allowed overtime, and pretend that giving you time off instead is a great thing (yes if you work 15 minutes overtime your not paid that instead you get an extra break).

The pay is low for the amount of work you have to do, Lots of people here gossip and talk behind peoples backs, management only cares about making more and more sales.

The Vacation is unpaid which is garbage, and then they say it's similar for other companies in the industry to be doing. (It's not).

You get a $100 bonus on your pay which is nice, but they could just pay you more. They take away the bonus if you are late or absent which is fair, but if you are genuinely sick and have a Dr's note you lose the bonus still. They dangle the bonus over your head because they know you rely on it making people come to work when they are sick and thus getting everyone else sick (Did i mention they don't have paid sick days?). 

They hire mostly Foreign people so they can get away with low pay and general not okay practices preying on people who don't know better. 

The one building also has a bug problem(Cockroaches). 

Breaks are unscheduled, instead of having breaks scheduled you have to call and ask for permission. We are not in kindergarten!!

I could keep going on and on about why you shouldn't work here but who want's to read a novel haha.

The supervisors are very good, and the trainers, who have a lot to
teach us at the beginning are terrific. But don't think about getting
a supervisor job, it's almost impossible. Management is literally impossible to crack since they hired from outside, when one of our deserving sups could have been promoted. Mostly he keeps telling us we are saving our customers money, saving lives, improving their quality of life, but what about us!!! Not bad for $70,000 + per year! Sadly, I've heard the HR person call the CSR jobs, " dead end jobs" which is seriously unprofessional.
       On the plus side there ae occasional prize giveaways, company 
b-b-q's, and the X-mas dinner is quite good..
      OTOH,some good people, like the cleaner who everybody liked, just disappear for some reason.(some of us know the real reason) They don't pay for any OT worked but offer time off instead. And there is a sleep in\leave early\paid break voucher system which sounds as silly as it actually is.Cash incentives are always best.
      To get to the next level eCom needs to improve the relationships
between management and workers.

I had a great time working at eCom customer care. I worked with this company for nearly 3 years and each year they have improved greatly. They now offer ALL employees benefits, offer bonuses just for showing up on time, have plenty of prizes given out each month! 
Plenty of coworkers leave and then come back to working here because they missed it - and I can certainly understand why. Management and HR are amazing and certainly carter to your personal needs. 

They ever have a MASSAGE THERAPIST that comes in to the office monthly for employees! 

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews about no advancement. Plenty of my coworkers have been promoted to bigger and better positions. And as eCom continues to expand I am sure that even more opportunities will present themselves!

For a call center, the management is very dedicated to agent growth and they put a lot of focus into coaching; a higher focus than what I've experienced at other call centers.

There are a lot of great people to work with, but it's easy to get caught up in meeting target KPIs. Call volume on the floor varies but a lot of days and some certain seasons of the year get extremely busy. But even when inbound calls are slow, there are outbound calls that can be done so you will be kept busy.

Things like team lunches, potlucks and barbeques are common. When I worked there, they had an active social team that planned fun things for agent appreciation and that was nice.

Sometimes, there's a lot of red tape get around when it comes to certain processes and it can be frustrating. And I also wish the compensation was a little more competitive. Overall, it was a good place to work.

They only hire FT positions... so I'm not sure why some people are complaining about hours. Also 90% of the promotions here are internal. Yes, it is annoying asking to take your break, but you always get them (as per labour laws) and that's just the way a call centre works. If you worked at one before this is one of the best of the bunch in comparison. There is a lot of gossip, but that's anywhere nowadays. Lots of benefits and they give the option of 4 x 10 shifts if you like having 3 day weekends! They even bring a massage therapist in house about once a month for their staff... kinda nice.
