There is almost no integration between departments. Employees rarely have the opportunity to interact organically, making it very difficult to network or even get to know the people you work alongside. 
The organization makes no effort to foster a sense of belonging or recognize diverse cultures through real-world events or team lunches. The "culture" is entirely online and heavily reliant on internal social media, which feels impersonal and out of touch with the actual employee experience.
There is an unusually long 6-month waiting period before health benefits take effect for new employees.
​Parking near the office is expensive and awful to secure.
​Outside of IT roles, jobs are almost exclusively posted externally. There is virtually no internal competition or opportunity for upward mobility for current staff.
As a result of the isolating environment and lack of advancement opportunities, the organization struggles with poor employee retention, term employees are pretty much replaceable to them.
Career growth is virtually non-existent. Management heavily prioritizes external applicants over dedicated internal staff who actually know the operational workflows.
​Internal applicants are routinely denied even a first-round interview for roles that seem pre-selected. The application process often feels like a massive waste of time.
The combination of closed-door favoritism, heavy gatekeeping, and poor employee care creates an incredibly toxic and stagnant workplace culture. 

eHealth has potential to be a great place to work but there are some issues:
- CBA is being overhauled so pay and benefits may not be great going forward since there are budgeting issues
- Lots of promotions of management with little explanation why their title and pay is increasing
- People being walked out the door with no explanation besides thank you for their service but they no longer work here
- Slow adoption of new technologies for an IT organization
- Entitlement culture instead of results driven
- No Kleenex provided in office so bring your own

Some of the great things:
- Discount parking for employees
- Beautiful office
- Large lunch area with appliances
- Social club

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people. I have not honestly worked in such a positive environment since early 2023. The respect and appreciation that everyone has is really brag worthy. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It’s really busy! Health care is always evolving and I’m happy to be apart of it :). 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I love the cultural club. Ehealth is amazing. Period. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Really positive to come to. I appreciate every single person I work with. The work is interesting and I feel really engaged and involved.

The people who have been there for years are out to cut you down to make them look better, just to cover up the fact that they are barely doing their job.  Since they have been there for so long, their jobs are safe so they are doing only what they have to.   They will take credit for your work.
If you ask for advice they will not help or they will give you bad information.  
If you think its just me...nope, there is 2 others there that warned me about the situation when I started there.

Decent training program, but multiple systems and applications to learn. Can sometimes be hard to track down the correct online resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Most tasks have documentation to follow, but finding the correct one is tricky.

It takes a while to get use to the slower pace, and the hundreds of acronyms used in the healthcare industry. The management and politics driving overall goals of the organization were constantly shifting.

The company involves, mainly, level 2 application support tasks for the Saskatchewan Government's Health System. While it is a fine place to work, it is not ideal for the Software Developers, who love to code.

Hybrid work form home opportunities if you work in office. (I don't get that option. 😭)


Working at eHealth was one of the most memorable experiences i ever had, i was treated, and is still treated as family. I would not have left if not for my growing family in Ontario.

Organization execs are flying in the dark with no idea or training to make even make low level success,   Very difficult to work in this type of environment for the more senior staff who have the proper training and skills.
