I worked with itutorgroup for the length of one contract. I had a wonderful time with my students and a horrible time interacting with the company. They have offered me further contracts that I have accepted, however I never hear anything further and at this point I have given up trying to get in touch with them. For a company that teaches people english, you’d think that maybe they would be able to get english speaking people to work with their consultants/instructors in customer service and support and this is not the case. It is extremely frustrating to have an urgent issue, be unable to call anyone, and have to email back and forth 5 times before the person even understands what you’re talking about. (If at all). They are extremely unsupportive and often penalize you harshly for things that are beyond your control. They are totally unforgiving. There is no leeway, no room for error, no excuses. And I was also paid much less than promised. 
Overall, bad culture, bad experience. But I miss my students. 

This company is very fair, but they require you to do a lot more than most employers. As with most Online ESL jobs, you are more of an independent contractor than an employee for all intents and purposes.

The system of communication is not the best, but they do get back to me fairly quickly. It is a bit impersonal though,

Base pay and incentives system are a major drag on employee satisfaction. Also using mostly low-quality teaching material and lesson plans.

Recommended if you want a steady pay-cheque while you learn the ropes of teaching English online. Or if you're looking for a part-time job and you have free mornings and weekends.

This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to work from home full time or for those looking to supplement their income.  The schedule is flexible as you can teach for as little hours as possible or for as many hours as possible depending on your schedule.  

The company provides lots of training videos as well as a live training with a senior consultant prior to starting.  

There is excellent customer service from the recruiter who checks back to make sure the orientation is going well or to see if help is needed in any area.  

Company offers a basic pay of USD$7.50 but with bonus you can earn between USD$15-$20 per session.  Bonus is dependent on how you are rated by the clients.

I hate that I have to leave such a bad review but here it goes. Don’t work for this company, just run if you think it’s good. The company has no one to contact for support of questions. I was never paid for the last work I did and have no way to contact anyone about it. You deal with robots and have no true connection with anyone other than your students who sometimes just stare at you blankly. This company underpays employees if they even pay them at all. I had zero support and am very happy to leave this company and not have to fight to be paid what I worked. 

This is a great side gig, if this is your only source of income, you will be very frustrated with scheduling, rating system, and communication from the "management."

When I started working here, it was a good place to be. I was treated well, good communication channels, rapidly increasing financial compensation.  At the peak I was consistently making $5-6000 monthly.
Then, starting about a year and a half, 2 years ago, it all went downhill rapidly. No more communication, I mean, AT ALL! Impossible to reach them.
Money? None! To give you a taste, in September (2022) I made $650. My availability is 50 hours a week. 
You may be treated fairly in the beginning, but don't be fooled. Stay away from these  folks!

Don't bother with iTutorGroup. They make you teach mostly demo classes  and 45 minute sessions which pays less than minimum wage.  After the company went public in November 2019, many teachers are not able to get their time slots filled with students, so expect to work part-time only.  The teaching materials are too short and lack content. If you want to make  less than a living wage rate than work for this awful company.

They can at any time change your contract.  Even if you book many hours they do not guarantee any work but you have to remain available to teach for those hours. They recently forced us to take a pay cut and then proceeded to give us hardly any classes.  There is zero job security with this company.  They do not value their employees at all.

For the past year or so this company seems to have been on its last legs. I've taught over 5,000 lessons on this platform and I'm now making less money than I did 2 years ago. Staff doesn't respond to any questions or problems, and they offer no assistance. Do not work for this company

This isn't a nice company to work for.
Management offers no help.
I have sent numerous emails without a proper response.
The pay is low.
Only nice thing are the students.
The lesson plans are easy too.
