I started out really liking the job! About a week in I learn that I have to start working 12 hour shifts. I was shocked as I was only 18, hired for a part-time position, and this was never mentioned to me in the interview. I was not trained very well, so I did make a few mistakes here and there. The other front desk employees I worked with were very cold, and not very welcoming. They would often do whatever they wanted, left mid shift, and criticize me for using the washroom during my shift. It got to the point where I would show up for my scheduled shift, only to be sent home because they "took my shift" without my knowledge or consent. The manager did not care, as these other employees had been working there for years and I was the newbie. I did end up quitting about 1 month in, as I could not put up with this any longer. To be honest I really did love my job, as it was related to my field of interest. However, it was a toxic environment, as they would frequently talk bad about me behind my back. All together, the atmosphere is awful, the manager is worse, and the other employees are the worst. I wish I made all this up, I would not recommend anyone to work there, please find another salon!

Doing my co-op placement portion of the OYAP program at Natural Solutions was amazing. I did a lot of cleaning, but I got to greet clients, drape them for the stylists, help stylists mix colour or toner if they needed it, help the stylists out in general. I learned a great deal more about hairstyling, and what its like to work in a salon. My co-workers were all amazing. I loved them all, and they all seemed to like me. I had the best supervisor, she was very kind, and helpful. Many of the girls there were helpful. They talked with me about my career plans, and different paths to take to reach my end goal. The most enjoyable part of the job was going to work. I always had a good time there.

Each day is not the same as the last or the next one coming. In hairstyling it is always a different experience. New clients and new challanges . For me this is situations i thrive upon i welcome challanges and go full force into task managing organizing and pleasing myself and employers. I must feel i have acheived what i was asked to tackle and feel i have completed it to the best of my ability.

working for natural solutions was a nice place to work i loved providing the services everything was there when i needed it. The people i worked with was very helpful they always advertised for me and got me clients. The hardest part was working in the nights during the weekday it was extremely quiet sometimes i wouldn't even get anybody coming in but i still tried to use my time efficiently and helped the hair stylist by doing that it expanded my knowledge in the beauty field

Lots of gossip between stylists. Management is terrible. It's a family owned business. They come in the Salons like they are better than everyone who works for them just cause they are their superiors. I was once told to tell an employee that if she didn't come in, she wouldn't have a job anymore...her son was badly sick still owner didn't care. There is soooo much more I witnessed working for these people. But I guess it depends on which location you're at. For your sake, just click the back button and look for another job posting.

Very rude judgmental unappreciated people I would never work there again. Made me really depressed. I did not like my boss or any of the staff they all broke rules got away with it treated me like garbage got away with it and I was fired because I had surgery and they didn't like that I needed time off. They also allowe employees to smoke weed on break and go back to work with zero consequences

I learned a lot working for natural solutions, I meet a lot of amazing and talented people. Due to poor management the salon was not run very well and it wasn't an enjoyable place to work.

I wouldn't work here again. Most staff members are great to work with but some can be difficult to manage. You need really thick skin to work here. Customers can also be rude and hard to deal with at times - but that's the service industry for ya!

Overall I had a good experience while working here but the pay fluctuated often because of the commission practices. The owner of the company did not value his employees and was very money hungry

Love working here ! Enjoy the daily challenges and how each day is different from the next. Both the customers and staff make the environment fun and entertaining. Lots of training available for each position.
