Local small company "culture" that has had trouble getting organized to build modular water systems over the past 15 years. 

Their "modular" water treatment systems, where frankly, not overly complicated to design, assemble and test. But; in many cases they failed to build them on time or on budget. (LD's) liquidated damages in the port authority world also made timelines very restricted.

The lack of experienced people there to organize, assemble and/or strategically employ good suppliers to help support the manufacture process was obvious, though management seemed a bit oblivious on how to make anything.

Poor resources, training and experience in operations manufacturing have also contributed. i.e having the experience in "process manufacturing"in order to make things..of quality, on time and on budget.

I believe too do to the 2016 oil and gas industry downturn, (their main client market), they have been scrabbling to get into new markets, which, from what I have read here, seems to have proven to be a steep learning curve to supply industrial plants which tend to be complicated 24/7 run manufacturing facilities. 

I would bet continued business challenges are ahead for them in the manufacturing Industry. Not only is that market shrinking, 

Manufacturing is currently half its post 2000 and will continue to shrink. 

With their history, lack of experience and management I doubt they will be around much longer like many companies in Brockville. 

That say there is no such thing as a "free lunched", so don't expect much more than hot dogs, pizza on pay day. (which by the way make their employees to provide)

Poor management that goes to great lengths to show how much they don't appreciate their staff. Even to the point of top leaders saying "you should be thankful to have a job". There is very little communications ever from management unless it's to outline a shortcoming. Virtually no opportunity for advancement as many people have been here in the exact same role doing the exact same task for years in all roles sales, engineering, accounting etc. They've had a culture problem and huge amount of turn over for years but still seem to ignore that they have an attrition issue. What they are most efficient at currently is losing experienced staff and not replacing them or hiring someone to replace them at the lowest possible salary. This has lead to people that aren't a great fit for roles and due to the lack of training here they typically don't last. They are usually hiring for an HR person because they keep quitting due to the shocking way they treat their staff.

In regards to the product, there is a huge potential for the offering that this company has. Unfortunately it doesn't look like leadership changes will ever be made and that potential will likely not be met.

The company had several growing pains in the past two years due to a shift in markets.  The company went from a mostly environmental remediation equipment company to an industrial water treatment one after an acquisition of another company (Crane).  The immediate push from upper management was to push away from the remediation side and to focus on the industrial side with little or no foresight on the supply, technical and capital issues associated with manufacturing much larger and complex equipment.  This lead to many problems on the QA/QC and supply side of things. This in turn lead to the overall low moral of the employees.

Fellow employees are helpful and considerate. A good place to work. Engineers and designs excellent systems for water treatment worldwide. New ownership appears to be on the right track to moving the company in the right direction to improve employee satisfaction and retention.

Newterra is a good place if you are starting your career and if you are looking for a place to develop your technical skills.

The company has been growing and experiencing continues changes in structure and management.

Great place to work. Salary is a bit low for your job that you do. I will go back in a minute.

There is nothing stressful with the job that I did in credit.

Nothing is better than working at Newterra.

Fast paced work environment. Good salary with overtime often available. Good and friendly people. A very fun and productive workplace. This is a job that will keep you in shape physically.

Was there through temp agency. Everyone was very nice and the atmosphere wasn’t stressful. Seemed to be a good work-life balance. Lots of different role opportunities.
