In all seriousness this company is a joke if you're working as an inspector.  I'm talking about the section that is within the GM plant in St.Catharines. 
Where should I start. ..
First off there is no proper training.  This position requires perfection. Great attention to detail as these parts are being inspected for defects. Each employee is to sign and initial a 100% certified stamp to each part saying that they are certain the part is good yet with the poor training who can really say they're good.  Certainly not the supervisors who get aggravated if they're called upon too much with questions from uncertain poorly trained new hires. 
This brings me to the topic of supervisors and management which is the best part.  Prepare to be treated like a poo stain. No matter if there was an oversight or accident in another part of the plant or by a direct supervisor prepare to get called for a meeting and crapped on for a solid 40 mins for things you've never done.  You're constantly talked down to whether you're a good employee or not. 
The last thing I'll mention is the spur of the moment rule making.  There seemed to be a new rule daily at times.  Rules that were purely made by a power hungry manager or supervisor if they were having a bad day.  Nothing ever made sense.  
This could have been a great job because the job itself was good,  and the other employees were awesome.  Biggest issue is management. If they could get rid of the ill educated wombats that run that section and bring in some professionals that possess qualities such as people skills and some business sense then the fact that you're only working for pennies won't matter as much since the job would be tolerable.  

The day I was let go for no good reason was the best part of this employment :) I regained my self esteem and lost the urge to die.

Worked there for almost five years and my pay didn't even reach $15.00 an hour. Communication between supervisors and inspectors was terrible. There was also favouritism between management and certain employees. The first three years I worked there I got laid off between 4 to 6 times a year. The union was a joke and didn't help at all when it came to contract renewal. I injured my back there and they mysteriously misplaced my wsib claim forms and went as far to claim they never received them. The CEO of the company treated our division as if we had no value. You can't make a real living working as an inspector for this company. It's not for young people trying to provide for a family but they don't tell you that. They're a terrible company to work for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The hourly rate is decent and a good benefit package 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The entire day is one stress filled moment to the next. Your co workers are either trying to kill you or stab you in the back. There is absolutely no concept of organization or accountability .

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If you like invisible hands on you for every second of every day then this is for you. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
All the bs you can handle plus alot more.

You have a very good chance that you will have some type of repetitive Strain Injury.

I worked there as a warehouse worker/truck driver. Many layoffs and in January 2018 the doors were closed. It was a good job for the area, all operations were coordinated with St. Catharines powertrain GM.

Not a bad place to work. People are nice jobs are simple but they are understaffed and have a lot of layoffs with little notice. Not much room to advance in the company but good for someone looking to gain work experience. The benefits and the wages are fair for the type of work. 

Job is enjoyable. Staff and management are easy to get along with/knowledgeable. Work can be very unstable and there are no benefits. As a father of two benefits would be great.

It is an all right place to work for the region. Learned a great deal about safety procedures and how to deal with a wide range or people learned alot about wharehousing, shipping receiving
co workers are great

Ok place to work. My supervisor was a great guy. Upper management wasn't that great. Most of the people i worked with were nice helpful and friendly..

The only good thing about working for Spencer is the time off...weekends , 4 day long weekends and vacation time paid..that is it! It is a terrible workplace.
