Overall reviews at CBI Health Group

Scheduling Coordinator | Winnipeg, MB | Jan. 28, 2019
poor management
no work/life balance and management team is poor. The work timing doesn't fit in my new schedule. the management team is quick to blame you for mistakes. They do not care about your mental health.
Licensed Practical Nurse | Calgary, AB | Mar. 26, 2020
Great work atmosphere
Pros-Great team of nurses to work with Cons-The company is usually short on workers and it affects client care. Management needs to put in a bit more effort but otherwise a great experience.
Home Care Worker | Saint John, NB | Mar. 2, 2021
Only about money
Originally CBI home Care was actually we care they were shut down because of poor management because of neglect and abuse towards seniors and staff. I know I myself was fired because my ex-husband busted my face open they decided to fire me because I was a victim of abuse I left them I wasn't staying with them but it didn't matter they still fired me their excuse was apparently I never had a social development check done which is a lie a big lie because I was working for them for four and a half years so if I was working for four and a half years that means I was on the floor for that long without the proper paperwork so they're justification for firing me was complete bogus.
Disability Support Worker | Calgary, AB | Nov. 29, 2019
Terrible work culture, poor pay. Management doesn't care about the staffs or listen to staff contribution. No career advancement available, no paid vacation
Resource Worker | Winnipeg, MB | Jul. 28, 2018
fun workplace and productive one, always going out with residents
Great company to work for as it was Vital life Inc/ORG canada before. Competitive salary and good benefits. It was a pretty chill day at work as I've been doing it with for several years dealing with different kinds of people with different background and ethnicities. It does need more work for now as they just started for transitioning under CBI health group. The hardest part of the job is when the residents started to change behavior become agitated and aggressive towards others even in themselves sometimes. The most enjoyable part is I work with amazing people.
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant | Cranbrook, BC | Mar. 30, 2021
Bad place to work...
I was part-time and I as well, was expected to know my new position thoroughly after 2 days of working there. Everything has a learning curve but I was also expected to learn and know thoroughly, how to do all medical and WCB billing etc., by the end of those first two days, which they knew I had no experience in doing when they hired me. Keep in mind at this same time, the phones were ringing off the hook/I was learning a new phone system, and clients were coming in and needed to check in for their appointments. I’ve been working for a really long time and am very good at secretarial/administrative work, but at CBI, they expect you to be psychic and know the job that you’ve just started, and know it well, by the end of those two days. It is common knowledge that it takes a good 3 to 6 months to learn a job thoroughly and that is if your full-time, But when there is five days of no learning in between those two days of working, it is impossible to achieve efficiency. No one wants to fail at a job, especially your first week! But at CBI Cranbrook, they set you up for failure. They really don’t care about you, because there are more people behind you that are desperate for work. This is a small town and a good job is hard to come by. You and people like you, are a dime a dozen. So no, I do not recommend working for this company. It definitely is a blow to your self-esteem. Everyone deserves to be respected and you will not find it at this company.
ProsAbsolutely nothing
ConsThe toxic atmosphere
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant | Ottawa, ON | May 3, 2020
Your colleagues become your family
The work environment is very friendly, lovely people to work with. Everyone is very caring and compassionate for what they do and they enjoy helping people rehabilitate. It is very fast paced, lots to learn and grasp so you are able to keep a handle on everything. There is never a dull moment between your coworkers and also the clients. You get to know your clients and build a rapport over time. It was definitely a great stepping stone to continue in the medical administration sector.
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant | Red Deer, AB | Jan. 4, 2020
Best part of the company is the people!
CBI Health Group deals with a lot of different types of people and therefore you get to interact with clients, staff and external people all the time!
ProsGreat people
ConsSlow in advancement
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant | Prince Albert, SK | Oct. 6, 2019
Great staff and clientele
I had experienced a very friendly and fast pace work environment. It was very enjoyable, challenging at times but in the best ways possible. I found myself learning daily and becoming more confident in myself, work ethic and overall general skills in the office environment.
Care Coordinator | Calgary, AB | Aug. 29, 2019
Productive and Fun
Take the time to get to know your environment they have a place for everyone in CBI. After a bit of time you'll know the whole mode of operations inside and out

Questions and answers about CBI Health Group

What is the interview process like at CBI Health Group?
Asked Nov. 2, 2017
Due to COVID, I only had 2 interviews. I know some friends who works at CBI and they had 3 interviews. First was through a phone call that lasted an hour. Second was with department supervisor and client relations manager I think, it lasted 40 minutes through a video interview. Both interviews were great. You will see that they are really interested listening to your answers and very understandable.

What advice would you give the CEO of CBI Health Group about how to improve the company?
Asked Jan. 23, 2019
Stop hiring heartless and irresponsible management. Stop the firing of solid managers and office staff. Aim to increase public and staff satisfaction instead of looking at this company like a business model that just serves to line your pockets. Realize that this is a business designed to help people and not the current business of disregarding your front line staff and the clients you serve. This is a horrendous company that has somehow managed to stay afloat for far too long.
