Typically driving around waiting for orders. Busy times are listed and much better for keeping active and making money.
Learned how to navigate the city better.
You are basically your own boss.
Hardest part rush hour.
Enjoy working on your own time.
ProsGood tunes in the car
ConsLong waits sometimes

Best Position ever
I truly regret needing to leave my position with DoorDash. It was honestly the best employer I’ve ever had and I miss it immensely. It was a great atmosphere and great people

In my area it was not super busy. Probably made a total of 100 bucks in 2 months. It is nice that you can make your own hours, but its a bit stressful when you first start.
ProsMake your hours
ConsPeople do not really tip.

Deactivate contractors, THE Company, does not follow the contract Terms
Support is horrible, treat you like an employee. They do not follow the terms of the contract. Deactivate you for no reason, explanation. Appeal process is a joke. No help, you're on your own. They monitor you for everything, even though the restaurants make your deliveries late, customer ratings are most important, even though you don't work for Door Dash. Sometimes the delivery time is before the food is picked up. How they passed the "Not an employee" bill in California, is a farce, because you do work for them and they control all the cards. Low transit pays, long drives. I can't stress enough..... DO NOT WORK HERE!!!
Prospaid every week, same day
Conslow pay, long drives, no support, they can't help with anything

Best fitting as a great side-gig
I worked for DoorDash in Toronto. I found that some days/evenings were extremely busy and well-paid, but some were completely dead and I would wait in my car for hours with no calls at all. There was a lot of freedom in being able to work whenever I wanted. And the pay came very quickly into my bank account directly. It was great to be able to see exactly how much money I was accumulating throughout a shift and when I was doing well, I was happy to continue extending my shift time and taking in more money. I just found that because there was no limit on the number of drivers that could decide to work each day, it was hard to use it as a full-time reliable income. Much better to do it as a side gig.
ProsChoose your own hours, weekly pay, self-employed
ConsUnpredictable business, sometimes very slow with no money made during a shift, can be stressful to find parking quickly in large cities.

Good place to work if you have part time work
DoorDash is relaxed and the interview was actually not bad. The person doing the interview was nice and informative as well as making us laugh a few times.

Less orders and low pay
I could give zero star rating to this company if there’s an option. You’ll only get paid for your gas expens. That’s quite funny. Never recommend working at this company. They only pay you $2 for a 15 kilometres delivery.

Fun but dangerous
I guess if you like a high risk situation and low pay then this might b ok for you. If u can go hard in bad weather then you can do ok, but in good weather you might not make much.

Make your own schedule but not the best pay
This is a great job for a side hustle or for people in school. I wouldn't recommend this for a full time job. If you have a car that is good on gas and spare time to make some cash then go for it.

Dasher Delivery Driver Review
As a driver for Door Dash I can not express my frustration enough. There are some good things, however there are a number of issues with Door Dash and if you are a person who cares about the work you do, and the level of service you provide your customers this may not be the job for you.
1) Pick up location may be +20km from your current location and the scheduled pick up time is 5 min later
2) You recieve notification that order is ready for pick up and you wait 15-20min because they are still working on the order (you do not get paid to sit and wait)
3) The delivery time to the customer is often early than the time you recieve an order so this affects your on time delivery metrics. Then they tell you how you can improve upon this metric even though the late delivery is not a result of your speed, or anything you have control of.
4) There is no phone number to contact anyone at support, everything goes through the mobile Dasher App, if you app crashes or fails YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
5) Messages sent into support can have a delayed reaponse of up to 48 hours. So you will have to be patient, do not expect a swift response. When you do get a response, do not think that your message was read, because in most cases they send a canned email back to you, completely unrelated to the original message sent.
6) You may decline Dashes, however, your acceptance rate will go down. Once you put in the reason for your decline of an order and want to pause or stop Dashes, they wil
ProsThere are orders on a regular basis
ConsVery poor driver support, poor app for enabling or disabling a current dash, no follow up on bad customer reviews, delays in recieving weekly payment, long drive from current location to resturant, KPI which are recorded on systems desinged to make you fail and not meet targets

Sometimes it is in the negative, as they send you to wrong addresses therefore you drive all over for free, and still sometimes not get paid!!!!!!!!!!

What would you suggest DoorDash management do to prevent others from leaving?
Asked Sep. 30, 2018
Actually start to care about ripping driver's off. Compensate them when Doordash makes the mistakes..................
Answered May 29, 2019
Improve your app, increase the pay rate (or at least be transparent about it), and most importantly get a help hotline!

Sitting in rush hour traffic
Waiting too long at the restaurant for the order at times.
Sometimes dealing with rude restaurant staff
Answered Mar. 24, 2021
Trying to get paid when they screw up an order, waiting in line of customers to order your delivery (yes, you have to order some). Waiting for your 20 minute order to be cooked, so you can deliver it for 9.99!!!!!
