Amazing Employees
I worked there the longest out of any job I have had. The people who get hired are always wonderful and were the reason I stayed. Typically a day would look like showing up, punching in, asking the manager on duty what you're up to, check the plan for the store that day, and complete your shift. The workplace culture is wonderful with so many different people to meet and learn about. The job itself is pretty easy and fun however there is not much room to advance and it is very hard to move up in the company. Management causes the most issues and has trouble dealing with several situations. The most enjoyable part of the job is definitely the other people, you can make great connections and your shifts go by much faster.
ProsCompany shows appreciation, flexible availability
ConsManagement is not organized, no room to advance

Good place for students to work
People were great to work with. Truck days were very busy and the team did the best to get the stock out in the time allotted to get the job done. The management did not give enough hours to get most of the work done in time. The hardest part of the job was that was not enough hours given to get every thing done.

Great Place to work
Employees are great, they're all artists so you always have something to talk about with everyone! Working as a cashier can suck because you're stuck in one place for 6 hours straight. Sales Associate I really liked because you got to do a bit of everything. The only thing that I didn't like is even though I was with them for a couple years it's hard to move up - a lot of people stay with the company and higher positions rarely opened to new employees regardless of their skill

Varied Cultures, Fun, Active and always busy
Cashier and Customer Service - always greeting and meeting new people, helping customers with any problems or complaints and solving them, leaving the customer happy.
I learnt how to hold my tongue, keep smiling and work out any issues.
Management changes all the time from store to store, that was difficult due to personalities and the constant changes.
The most enjoyable times for me was at cash and teaching
ProsDiscounts on Yarn
ConsNot enough shifts

Easy Work
I enjoyed my five years at Michaels, no it's not perfect and some of its procedures could be better but all in all I can't say I don't miss it. Obviously from store to store it's different. I got lucky and had very nice and open managers. People from different departments (cashier, replenishment) worked as a team and made it enjoyable.
ProsThey really cared about break time, you were not allowed to skip. Very close relation between district manager, store management and employees.
ConsNot a lot of hours. If you're looking for stable hours, this is not the place.

Amazing management
Working with Michael's has really been a large growing experience for me. The flexible work hours make it easy to work around my school schedule. The hardest part of this job is the early mornings, but it's always great to be finished work around 10-11am, and you still have the whole day ahead of you!

Fun, Exciting, Challenging, Friendly
As a certified framer everyday was different. Our customers would supply us with a variety of different types of art to frame which made it both exciting and challenging. My co-workers are amazing we are all like a big family which is nice to see in such a big cooperation. I would say that the hardest part of my job is when pieces of art are for memorials of family members of all ages. The most enjoyable part is seeing the final outcome regardless of the situation. I have learned so many different things the most important is listening to the customer and learning how to read in between the lines as far as what the customer is wanting there piece to look like along with making it fit in there home and or someone's décor.
ConsHours are not stabalized

Fun, be creative all day
Always there for customers when they need help finding product or looking for ways to be creative. Hardest part of the job is being on your feet all day. Co-workers are fun and we work together to get the job done.
