Overall reviews at Royal LePage

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant | Toronto, ON | May 22, 2019
Great job I had during my university years. Great atmosphere and very professional. I learned a lot about handling clients and agents, their personal needs and attending to a variety of receptionist/administration duties.
Front Desk Agent | Toronto, ON | Jun. 23, 2018
$15/hr doesn't cut it.
I worked briefly as a Front Desk Admin Assistant and it was A LOT of work for such little pay. Royal LePage is a company where you set your own salary -- and as good as that sounds, its really not true, as they decide your pay for you at the end of the day. Other Front Desk Admin Assistants were getting paid ~$18/hr. This made me feel severely underpaid, especially as I was going above and beyond and outperforming the others. There are NO benefits. And yes, you're expected to work on Federal Holidays like Canada Day. Not all RLP firms have the same schedule, so be weary of which one you get hired at -- whether it is Signature Club, Terrequity, etc. The staff were nice, and generally a bit older. Which makes it a little harder to relate to them, but no complaints on the friendly and relaxed environment.
ProsPeople were nice.
ConsNo parking, no benefits, low pay, lack of recognition, they can move you around to different branches -- even if its far.

Friendly and fun to work with all employees
I worked at this company for several years and didn't want to leave as the people I was working with were amazing. Even though it was bit far from where I lived it did not matter to me as I was so attached to the company (management) and the people I worked with. We acquired a new company in 1999 and at the same time we transitioned all files in to the new system at the same time. I usually worked late during this time however one particular day I had to stay until 1AM as there was a system glitch and I could not tally the numbers which I finally was able to find and fix it at around 1AM. The most important thing I learned was from the people around me was professionalism, Office antiquate, and patience. Management was extremely good. They always looked at the business as well as employee satisfaction at work. Workplace culture was acceptable compared to other work places as I have heard. The hardest part was to convince some individuals to agree upon certain logical thinking due to their rigid theories. The most enjoyable part of the job was working on new projects. People bring different ideas to the table to discuss and finding pros and cons would the best part of this projects.
ProsLearning variety of job functions
ConsDid not have flexible work hours

ProsAs Sales Agents - 'flexibility' within the confines of your duties to your clients
ConsAs Sales Agents - many long hours

The team I worked for had terrible management
Terrible and toxic environment. Awful management. The team leaders were never involved. People were being hired and fired like a revolving door. Very stressful. Realtors were very nice. No life/work balance. Would never recommend working with this team. Terrible reputation.

Helpful and friendly
The staff is very helpful and friendly, especially to new agents who are still overwhelmed with the industry. They offer a great training program for new agents to get established.
