Work and promotions are merit-based, so you have to put in effort to achieve them as they will not just get handed to you - you do not automatically get rewarded just for showing up.

Being a security guard is not just a job title - you will be expected to maintain a certain level of pride in your work, and be able to put the "guard" back into "security guard".  

As a Specialist I do work that is similar to Policing in many ways, and also Bodyguard duties depending on the call-out.  This company does not mess around or waste time, and it expects employees to be serious-minded, mature, and encourages (and rewards) those with a background in Military and Police Foundations.

Pay and benefits are above average.  As with all security companies, there are overtime hours available.  ASP respects your work/life balance and strives to accomodate your schedule.  Security is an ever-changjng job and cannot guarantee you stability, but ASP is the most flexible company I have known.

Management is approachable and flexible, and this company values honesty and integrity as their core values.  If you see a bad review of this company on here, consider that it may be from a disgruntled employee who are trying to mislead you - consider the source.

I've seen a lot of companies and how ASP treats people is unique in a good way - they have put the humanity back in security work.

My internship is on volunteer based but a typical day at work is something I actually look forward to. The people I work with are incredibly nice and very knowledgeable about the industry. I have learned an incredible amount of industry related procedures from my time here. Management is very easy to deal with, and the co-workers have a smile on every time I see them. The hardest part of the job is getting familiarized with the different post names, and the most enjoyable part of the job is being able to interact with people who are in the positions I see myself striving to obtain in the future.

I usually have a great day  and interesting day

Generally stressful, lot's of people call in sick and management doesn't care about filling positions with qualified people. It is a revolving door. I wound up working for the company as a result of a contract take over and I very quickly realized they had no intention of correcting the previous companies problems. One day I was written up and two weeks later I was terminated because I didn't fit the culture. They later lost that contract.

The job gives you good experience dealing with a wide variety of incidents. However, the company doesn’t pay you well for the amount of work you do and the standards you need to keep. Management does nothing; you will never see them or hear from them unless they need something from you. 

This company does not care one bit about its employees. Staff with little to no experience are promoted to higher positions over much more qualified individuals due to the managers bias. Would not recommend working for ASP.

I've worked with ASP since 2006 on and off and ended up as a specialist. Working hard doesn't mean anything there. The lazy ones get promoted and like to shake manager's hand. You don't do nothing special other than watch people and hit tags. It's a piece of fece job.

The team has many great people but my experience was not ideal. It is not their fault that the work schedule did not fit mine but I do believe that they could definitely pay more for a job where you stand for such long periods of time. I am young and question how older folks can physically handle this job. 

No pay for the in class training.  Which clearly shows the standard of training given by the instructor who by the way is lost her self an wint answer any questions cuz frm the get go .. first day she's always a day behind !! Macdonald is better than asp !
