Good place for your first job post-university or while you are still in university, for those in Psychology or related programs. 

Pros: There is room for advancement/ promotions within the company, these are done through routine evaluations, with these comes pay-raises. They hire and train you even if you have no experience in the field. Co-workers are all relatively young and help eachother out a lot. There is a collaborative feel between co-workers. Some people from management go out of their way to help you and show they care about you. You make close bonds with your clients and their families. Good protocol in place for when staff are injured on the job. Great place to get experience in the psychology/social work/ child-care field before moving to another job or applying to grad school.

Cons: They are not very transparent about the nature of the more behavioural/aggressive clients during the training process, this is only learned from experience. Incidents with aggressive clients can leave you feeling scared to come back to work. The required routine evaluations can be stressful. Pay is adequate, but not amazing. Workload is manageable when working part-time, but working full-time can be physically and mentally taxing and lead to burnout. Some management are not helpful and show a lack of interest in their clients, which can be frustrating.

This company is a start. If you believe in growing you can but the owner’s commitment to the clients is not there.

The owner along with some of the close unqualified clinical team members have master’s level qualifications but the intelligence of someone who hasn’t finished high school. It is alarming to see that parents and children rely on their services unaware of all the internal unethical decision making. It is sad to see in a world where we need more autism services, there are places like this just in it for the money and not for the joy of helping vulnerable populations.

It is a business at the end of the day but they can’t even spell business in the first place. If you want to work here, go for it. Gain experience. You are a number that will get fired without cause sooner rather than later.

 It is no secret that the field is tough and if you aren't aware of what you are getting yourself into then it can be really challenging. The initial training is great, a little complex, but provides you with enough technical and hands on training to start. The Senior Staff are great and always helpful, though you can easily tell who has more experience then others. Management does their best to make going to work fun: staff lunches, theme days, competitions, paid day off draws, reinforcement and shout-outs. Co-Workers are amazing and always willing to help out when needed. If you want a career in the field there is tons of opportunities to move up and grow with the company. 

ABA Connections is a good place to get your foot in the social work/psychology door but is definitely not a career. Staff is underpaid and the workload doesn’t match the salary. The work culture created by the therapists is fantastic but the staff support each other more than the senior staff does. Training prepares you with all the basic tools to do your job but does not prepare you for the more aggressive or behavioural clients. The kids are amazing and make the job worth it but you have to consider at some point if it’s worth the low pay and overwhelming caseload. 

Decent job opportunity, I started this job because I love working with kids and I love helping people and knowing I can have an impact. But I left it because of the toxic environment. The senior therapists, who we were supposed to report to and who are our number one source for everything about the kids, provided little support and could care less about the ABA therapists. We were always overworked and very underpaid. Our work was never appreciated and the ABA therapists only have the kids interest at heart, but I can’t say the same for the management.

- Great colleagues all generally young
- Decent pay for entry level
- Room for growth
- Company culture
- Pay for travel time and mileage
- Organized
- Adequate training and frequent evaluations
- Good supplies for therapy 

Cons:
- Seniors/management play favourites 
- Micromanagement/hostile seniors
- Seniors/management downplay a lot of serious behaviours and incidents to parents
- Turn over rate is a bit high
- High stress work that is physically and mentally demanding
- Benefits could have been better

Very underpaid and under supervised 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Better than some other clinics, however theme days don't make up for over worked and under paid

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
2-3 clients per day, 30 min unpaid lunch break

Been working at this job for a long time now and the supervisor staff is quite helpful, IF you're among their favourites.
A lot of people are really supportive, but the senior staff(and the owner) have their favourites and they get all the easy tasks and promotions.
There's a lot of "drama" and toxicity among the therapist, a lot of negetive energy.

ABA Connections is a stressful place to work and the pay does not compete with the amount of tasks you are required to complete. The management does not care about the staff. Other coworkers are great but good people don’t often stay long because they are over worked and not compensated fairly.

It is a stressful job but very rewarding, if you put the work in. It is a very fast pace job and you need to be able to think fast on your feet. The two week training prior to beginning with clients is very intensive and informative.
