My favorite position in this factory was "roof pilot" operating overhead crane was a very challenging and satisfying job. I enjoyed employing my mechanic skills as management had me repairing and maintaining the various PLC controlled machines throughout the plant. Also had a hand in designing, welding and building new experimental machines and installations to help boost plant productivity, as well as, repair gas powered generators and air compressors for field crews. Other postions in plant involved the assembly of panels of the houses that get built on site. I learned a ton of expertise about building houses and would assist the assembly line supervisor with assessing which area had bottlenecks and help out to increase productivity. I enjoyed the opportunity to train new employees and lead a crew with a positive attitude, we usually had fun doing repetitive, fast paced work. We could play our music loud and have alot of fun while being productive at the same time!

What is the best part of working at the company?
You are working inside and mostly avoiding harsh weather conditions year round 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very difficult to grow or progress within the company for anyone that’s a minority on not a stereotypical description type of employee for your hired role 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Somewhat closed of and not very accepting of new employees or minorities 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Prep assemble  layout for truss packages  and assemble trusses. Complete main and lower roof sections up to sheeting annd/or  Ice and water/paper and  separated and loaded onto trailers in predefined panels for on site assembly.

ACQBUILT leaves me with mixed feelings. I enjoy the fast pace environment, working indoors, as well as my co workers. They are also good at guaranteeing your hours and accommodating towards your schedule if need be. As well, they have begun hosting company events again.

These are my issues with ACQBUILT. They do not pay competively. It is hard to get a raise. Little room to grow within the company. They claim to pay for apprenticeships but I have yet to see that happen. 

If you are looking to get into the trade, escape the outdoors and pay is not a concern then I would recommend ACQBUILT. If you are looking to grow as a Carpenter and make good money then ACQBUILT is probably not for you.

A typical day starts really terrible. Management doesn’t do anything. Crew leads. Don’t do anything (with the exception of some) management care for themselves and their best interests only. I have seen the younger guys get bullied out of a job by the management. As a mid level with some experience I feel myself going nowhere here. No recognition or respect you are their worker and they treat u like u are. Management acts in their best interest and will make your work day so terrible  if you they dont like you but cant fire you. Don’t work here is a bunch of lies and fake promises. Only upside is the freezies( before they make u work extra long in the heat)

Many are denied apprenticeships 
Others take credit for your work or suggestions 
No real training its either sink or swim
Provides benefits but you never have time to use them cuz they tell you last minute you need to come in a day it’s mandatory 
Building schedule is either barely any work or completely overloaded and can’t meet deadlines
Lack communication between departments, management and workers
Machines always breaking down, sent home with no pay when it happens


If you have no life or family, ACQBUILT is the place to be. You can sweat, bleed, and give it your all on the floor, but god forbid, you take some extra steps throughout the day, they will get rid of you without thinking about it. It starts off good and you start to love it, but if you aren’t where they want you to be (they only give you less than 2  months to get there ) they will start treating you differently. They only hire you for extra bodies, they don’t care about your story or your plans/goals.  It pays the bills… that’s the only thing that can be said “good” about the place. 

Overall one of the best companies I've had the pleasure to work with. Top notch facility with exceptional staff that make it seem like one big family. The only thing I feel that needs attention is the way in which some managerial decisions or communications are handled. I'm sure over time and understanding they will have resolved any of those shortcomings as they always find ways to overcome and endure (in my opinion).

Was excited but it didn’t take long to realize that if you had to be related to management and never have an opinion or recommendation. Management doesn’t even know what’s going on throughout the day or week. Schedules seem to be pulled out of nowhere and have no rhyme or reason. Work full out one day and going home early the next. Definitely some shady business. All in all you’re not part of a family as they say…..you’re just a number. Stay away!!!

There has been a lot of changes over the years. I’ve watched Acqbuild grow to a place of stability as stronger leadership came into place in around 2013. Unfortunately a lot of what has been implemented has fallen off and we’ve reverted back into just a “get it done” mentality instead of a strategic, well planned, well executed, oiled machine. 
The owner is great and actually cares about the employees, but the leadership team doesn’t  run as a manufacturing facility anymore. They are a glorified field crew that builds indoors. 

Work is steady, lots of overtime available. Clean facility and generally safe work.
Work is very repetitive, lacks a feeling of being part of a team. Disorganized work flow amongst crew leads and workers. Cliquey feeling and a general “off” energy in the workplace. Not a lot of career growth potential.
