I really enjoy working at the ACT Learning Centre. It has comprehensive benefits and a collaborative work environment.  We are a multidisciplinary clinic (SLP, OT, ABA) and get the opportunity to learn from all disciplines the best way to support individuals with ASD, ADHD,  and ODD.
The company provides several continuing education courses ( all fully paid). The pay rate is one of the best in the city for ABA clinics.
For many of the staff at ACT, we are frontline workers so flexibility to work from home is not an option. If you are not an Instructor Therapist in the ABA department, there are more opportunities to work from home.  
Management is continuously available to coach and answer questions and they always seem to have the best interest of the clients in mind. I find the company to be professional and I am proud to work here.

The company offers a unique blend of dynamic coworkers, supportive management, and unparalleled flexibility. The management team truly values and promotes a healthy work-life balance. They prioritize family and are understanding when unexpected events occur. The work can be challenging, but the rewards are immeasurable when we witness the progress and development of the children we serve, as well as the strong bonds we form with their families. ACT appreciates, acknowledges, and rewards hard work and education. 

I’ve been in 3 different ABA clinics in the Ottawa area and ACT is by far the best one. I’ve learned so much since working here - varied curriculums and teaching modalities to better suit the client, learned how to best support staff and provide training opportunities for them and I have been provided so many learning opportunities to amplify my skills and excel in my career. Some days are harder than others, but that is to be expected in this field! Management has been supportive and does their best to support staff - with a growing company comes growing pains! I thoroughly enjoy working here and making a difference with the families we support 

ACT has been a great place to work since i've started. Working with children with ASD can be challenging at times, but we work with a very supportive and friendly staff. Being in a multi-disciplinary clinic allows us to interact with other professionals and learn so much! ACT does a lot of great initiatives like trainings/professional development, employee appreciation, wellness initiatives, activities and more. Management has always been approachable and receptive to feedback! I've learned so much working here and have been able to grow in my career within a positive work environment. 

Informative, for those new to the field. They have a wide variety of clients and departments to expand your scope of therapy knowledge. It’s great that they are a multidisciplinary team, the several types of therapy allows for enriched therapy for clients and knowledge for staff. As well the medical insurance package is very generous.

However, when it comes to work place culture, they do have a tendency to work you to the bone. Which would be fine if compensation was fair or career advancement opportunity would be rewarded to those who earned it. Many of those who would advance, did so based on their level of education, rather competency at there job. Which can be discouraging to other staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management is very supportive. Great programs for clients.  Very appreciative of employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You only have one 30 minute break in your day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is diverse and very inclusive.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, busy, busy. There are many different roles you can take on.

The ETS program is stressful and you will be miserable for the most part. The program is severely understaffed. Management plays obvious favorites and picks on the ones who can't stand up for themselves. There will be drama, useless gossip, and people who think they know it all. Toxic environment overall.  You'll be expected to fulfill multiple roles including being a teacher, a relationship counselor to your coworkers, and a janitor. They will also guilt you for taking time off.  There is not much room to grow in this company either. 

Working in the ETS program is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had over many years working in education. To be able to work with young children and their families and to see the tremendous growth of the students is an experience I will never forget. It is a shame there are people writing false reviews that take away from the incredible work the classroom staff and management do to support these young children and their families. I have referred many friends to work here and could not be more proud to be an ACT employee. 

Working with young children and their families presents unique challenges and opportunities for growth as a clinician. I have felt valued and supported in my role and I am continually impressed with the company's culture to support children and families in reaching their full potential. ACT Learning Centre has many programs that you can work in, which is valuable as a clinician from a growth perspective and for work balance.  

I have been at ACT for over a year now. I have found the team to always be open and ready to answer any questions I have. Management has always been positive and have encouraged me seek advancement opportunities when they have come up. 
I am supported every day and I know someone is always available to help when I need them.
I highly recommend ACT Learning Centre if you are looking to further your professional career.
