Always looking for new people to hire and the work is easy to learn/do. 

The pay isn't great for the work/conditions.

You have to work outside in ANY weather (rain, snow, heat, etc.) and the company provides you with zero equipment or clothing to help deal with the elements. Expect to shell out money to buy warm clothes if you plan to stay on-board during the winter (I spent $300 on high-grade undergarments and winter clothing and still find myself feeling chilled to the bone on days).

While I've made a few friends here, the people aren't great...They're boisterous, disrespectful, ignorant, and almost always offensive. I'm not a particularly PC person but even I've found myself shocked at some of the "locker room" talk I've been apart of while working here. So be prepared for a real crass, working class, male dominated work environment.

Management is all over the place. I used to like my managers but the longer I've worked with ADESA, the longer I've felt ignored and misled. They also seem to expect you work overtime and will constantly pester you to do so but there is almost zero incentive work extra hours.

Also you'll be introduced to some very sketchy people/work practices. A lot of the dealers you'll encounter will raise plenty of ethical problems for you.

It's a very fast paced work environment & there's always something to do, whether it's in my current department or another department. In the time that I've been there, I've been cross trained in almost every department so should somebody call in sick i might have to unexpectedly fill in for them. Most people i work with have a lot of patience & are willing to take the time to teach you new things.The management there is really good, they're the kind of people that can be your friend & your boss at the same time & they are always more then willing to help you when you need it. I get along quite well with the majority of my co-workers, i don't interact with all of them on a day-to-day basis as there are so many different departments. There's also a lot of very negative people that work there too, that i try to stay away from as much as possible.
The hardest part of my job is every Tuesday & Wednesday, the day before the auction when all of the vehicles are arriving & every department is frantic to get all of their work done before the auction starts at 10:00 AM on Thursday morning.

My position was working operations (picking up and delivering vehicles through NS). This job had Lots of walking, and lots of sitting. 

If you're working as a driver/operations at Adesa, expect to come in around 7/8am and sit down until somone designates someone, who then designates someone else, who'll then try and tell you what to do. 

You could then either ...

1. get into a shuttle to go somewhere to pickup a vehicle (could be a 50k sports car, or a junk cavalier with no brakes) to then bring back to Adesa 
2. Get into a car that's already on the lot, and deliver it somewhere in NS to then get back into a shuttle, cramped with retired older men to go back to Adesa
3. Work around the lot moving cars. Sometimes, you'll move a car to a location to find that your higherup didnt understand from their higherup what was going on... so then you'll have to go back and move all the cars again. 


you could be doing this in any weather, hot, cold, rain, snow.

My daily tasks consist of responding to emails, calls, follow-ups and reviews. Depending on the severity, I can either solve the issue remotely via my laptop or rush down the problem and start troubleshooting. The benefits of working here I would have to say is seeing all types of cars; from exotics to latest models. Dealing with all types of questions/scenarios helps me cover any unexplored aspects of my knowledge, so I welcome the challenge. I cover roughly 200+ users at the site and I learnt to approach each individual differently, because they all have different learning curve and abilities to understand the situation. I try to help them understand the problem in terms which they are familiar to so they can avoid the situation on a later time, or fix it on their own. The co-workers are a fun and happy group that I have the pleasure of working with, we entertain and help each other. The hardest part of the job is when you are waiting on some access/approval/part/device in order to complete a task.

I'm not sure what management is like at other Adesa sites, but in Airdrie it is the most inept I have ever experienced. They talk the talk, but they do not walk the walk. Safety is a joke and working conditions are pathetic. There are only two things they worry about and that is the sale and the dealers, staff is secondary at least if you are paid hourly. Sales and office staff are the cream of the crop and the yard people are nothing. It would be interesting to see office and sales and managers set up the sale on their own without the peasants in the yard, it wouldn't happen. It is a great place if you only work part time and want a job where you can come and go as you please but I would not recommend full time to anyone. Low pay and no appreciation.

I have been working at Adesa Toronto for 4 years now (started in grade 11). The work is relatively easy once you learn your role, and the employee's are very friendly. I felt like I was a part of a family there, but some things changed here and there, and now it doesn't seem the same anymore. Might just be me, but this is an honest review of the place. Good place to work if you need a full-time job with benefits, and a laid back type of environment most of the time. Please don't hesitate applying here like I said before they treated me well! Hope this review helped somebody make a decision to apply to Adesa Toronto.

This company is not worth working for unless you are a retired person. They says there is room for advancement but the hierarchy  hire external people instead of moving up the internal that deserve it. The salary is minimum wage with hardly any chance of receiving a raise except for the annual raise which is 3 percent of your salary. It is pretty much impossible to fire someone that sent doing their job making other employees have to work more for little money. This company cares more about the customer than they do their employees. To sum it up this company is not growth friendly or financially friendly or even worth working there.  This is for every portion at this company.

We began our day with a staff meeting.  Then it was off to work.  I learned a lot there.  I worked in many different departments when things were slow during my job.  For the most part all the management staff knew their jobs well and handled things expediently.  The culture was interesting.  Our clients came before us.regardless of vehicle damage or who caused it we were blamed.  The most difficult part of the job for me was not knowing how to dress as I often worked in the office instead of outside (which was where I usually worked).  I enjoyed the opportunity to learn many aspects of the company.

My manager is a former co-worker, we communicate well knowing each
other's expectations, always willing to answer questions and able to provide
direction and support as needed. Driver's at Adesa are part time, would 
like to get a full week's work (at least 5 days). Hopefully able to get a full
weeks work, working for 2 different companies part time. Starting time
is 8:00am to 5:00pm. Enjoy the fellowship of my co-workers and 
good relations with the management. Meeting the requirements
and expectations is a pleasant atmosphere to be working in. Was
recently re-hired after delivering auto parts for 2 years with Motorcade
Ind.

Different pay scales for people doing the same work. Unrealistic expectations.  Management favours a few and the rest are disposable minions.  They ask you to work overtime but no extra pay.  In fact if you miss something, even impossible to see under a vehicle your pay is docked and you are reprimanded.  Work conditions are outdoors in the nastiest weather. There are homeless people working with you that complain about anything they can think of to try and get ahead with management and it works.  If you are a normal person, stay away.  If you are homeless and fabricate stories about your co workers because they have happy lives, you will fit right in.
