I dealt with bullying, racism and inappropriate harassment. Things got worst when I reported it. One of the managers even encouraged a coworker to intimidate me, he laughed brought up the matter in front of a group, while I was working. He made jokes and mocked me as the coworker stood over me, I was seated and he spoke aggressively at me. I was called every degrading insult you can say to a woman, he would encourage others to taunt me. One of his friends even screamed at me for no reason then turned around and told him, this is how you should speak to her with violence. A coworker who he befriended also kissed me on the lips without permission and called me non-stop, he would do other inappropriate things I don't want to elaborate on. I was in a room full of coworkers mocking and taunting me for reporting the issue, one of the much older guys shouted "she says he's being harassed". It was humiliating. I was told it would be kept private, I remember once a group of them convinced the girl next to me, to transfer an inbound call to me though I wasn't trained for inbound. She pressed the answer button on my phone and a the client was yelling at me. The group laughed at me as I tried to figure out how to access the client's account while attempting to calm him down. The hardest day, was when I had to come back to drop of my keycard and pickup belongings, by then I was terrified of being there. One of my managers, had been intimidating me likely because he assumed I reported his inappropriate actions towards me but I hadn't. He would act threatening and dominant speed up behind me and insult me with his clique but then act cordial when other supervisors were around. There's a clique of people who have worked there for years, they act very different when the day management aren't around, they ganged up on me and a few of them are managers. I got a third party involved to report the issue because I didn't want to quit and even wrote them a letter but they never reached out to address it. Even colorist and racist insults were said.  Some would have conversations in an African language and throw in my name with the word b*tch and laugh. The pay was good and the actual job, was enjoyable to me but the harassment affected me psychologically. I wish I had left much sooner, it traumatized me.

It was a great place to learn for a junior, however, it was a challenge because of the compensation plan. It was commissioned only for them. It took a while to get the confidence and the “know how” to get sufficient sales volume to build a decent salary. The result was a very high turn over in the sales force. Many were called but only a few were chosen at the end of the day. 
For the manager, it was a constant go back to square one. After a while it gets to you because making quotas become more and more difficult because of the heavy turn around in sales staff. On top of managing daily activities, one must carry on looking for new staff, train them, go out and about with them without neglecting those who are being successful. At one point in time one gets to ask himself what comes first the egg or the chicken. 
A small base salary, to take care of a minimal “security” aspect would secure a “safer” environment for the sales force and would limit the turn over in staff. Event the best one had bad months and were not able to make ends meat at home. Some were leaving after being trained appropriately and starting to experience success because they could no longer pay for gasoline to come to work. It was brutal, when anyone had a bad month. A minimum allocation would have ironed out those issues and a more stable sales force would help reach quotas faster and more often than ever other months.
A sales rep under financial pressure does not show the confidence required to close sales smoothly, one gets pushy and potential client gets cold and push back by getting less responsive.

It is an unstable organisation at this time with a complete disconnect between upper management down to field techs and CSRs. 

Currently there is almost no job security with departments closing and being replaced with companies/agencies not owned by ADT itself causing more confusion and frustration.  A recent acquisition has all staff lost on who exactly is running the show, ADT or the company they acquired.

There is little to no communication from management of policy changes until the day before or day of and then these policies may change within a week or month depending on how poorly they were implemented in the first place without notifying all staff clearly what is occurring or even if they are still in effect.  

It could be a great place with better upper management leadership 
 but at this time stay far away.  It's not clear what staff will be laid off next, the depts has low morale due to being overworked, client's are frustrated due to organizational changes and pricing, and management at this time does not even seem to notice.

ADT did not support any type of professional growth.  The environment was very stressful as they were going through corporate and structural changes. Unethical behavior is not only supported but encouraged, very cut throat environment  unfortunately from the top down.  If you are looking to work for a company that encourages professional growth  and change as well as a new way of doing business...this company gets a unresounding FAIL. Nothing worse than working for an employer that does not adhere to their own SOP's they are in place for a reason...to guide ethical behavior and encourage "best business practices" Corporations need to be held accountable...part of accountability is an effective, efficient  and productive workforce that encourages a healty employee morale as well as environment.   ADT I challenge you to up your game and DO better. Don't just talk about it....Be about IT! Talk is cheap... Action gets results!

My typical day at work would be booking appointment with customers, taking complains, coordinating and assigning jobs to technicians, dealing with guard calls and confirming appointments for installation all over Canada. Staying there for a full years feels like Ive been there for 5 years, thats how much I learned. I've really developed myself and I am able to be professional and deal with difficult situations on the phone or in an office place. I've learnt to work fast while doing a great job. Co-workers are very important to me, I am very independent and work well alone but I am also a huge team player. I LOVE working to people, my co-workers and I weren't just co-workers but friends that will help each other to make the day easier. The hardest part of the job I would say was at the beginning taking about 150-180 calls in a row, as time passed by it became a lot earlier. The most enjoyable part of the job was having on the phone all our technicians all over Canada to keep your day entertaining all day.

My advice to anyone who think joining this company to think twice , not for nothing but just it’s a waste of time if you are looking for a stable job . They recruit at first then after the first probation period they will call you and say your performance is not at the expectation of the company goals , so if you are lucky they will say we are going to extend your probation for three month more and by that time they will call you again and say we are sorry your contract is terminated you did not meet the expectation we thought you will do. The people in their are not really bad their is some nice persons but still always their is some bad apples. To be brief it’s an unhealthy place and enviroment and you will see a lot of people come in and go every month dozens of them never stay and those who get in their and work hard they get lay off after a certain period of time easily .

I worked for ADT for over 15 years and loved it however the reality of it is, they are a business and businesses change. ADT isn't any different they seem to change operations and structure every few years and now seems to change even faster which shows the leadership has no clue what they are doing or know the cause and effect. They get rid of people who have had a lot of tenure, and hope the new people can figure out their complex systems and processes but there within lies the problem. They don't have any structured training, it's kinda fly by the seat of your pants which creates a lot of room for errors.  There is lots of cons, but there are a lot of pros. I would not have stayed so long if it was terrible and every company has its lionshare of challenges.

Management is very unfair. You could do everything right, and the one thing that you did wrong they would focus on. I would really watch your back as there are people who will pretend to be your friend and go to management.
Management even goes out with their favorites.
I got questioned even if I went above and beyond. Sometimes the management just liked to complain for the sake of complaining.
I lost my job there, and this is how unfair that they are.. They give me a waring on Friday, and the following Wednesday I am let go? And what they were warning me about was not to make any more mistakes. And that mistake was done prior to Friday when I got the warning. So that should not have counted. Supporting a poor system, and the co-workers are always complaining about the clients that they just spoke with. And the bad thing about that, is that the clients could hear it in the background. Not a good enviroment. 

ADT > I worked in retention. The management is making these unreal goals to accomplish. You can not succeed by their goals and expectations. 
The managers give raises to their friends, and they are not fair with how they give them out... This is where a union would be great.
They actually lie and cheat, so that they owner of the company who is in the states does not know what is going on. If he did, they would be outsourcing.
There is alot of yelling and talking in the background when you are on the phone, and the management does not support you with this. They have WFM who watches everything that you do, and the times that you go the bathroom, or are off the phones.
It is very much controlled when they ( management ) want it to me. There are rules for you, and rules for others. 
Hard to get time off to go to the doctors. Heartless management.
