The hardest part is taking the calls if you work at one the the two call centers. 
For the other departments. Marketing, special projects. It's just an x company to work for with typical problem of corporate life. Too many captains for one project. Not enough willingness or courage. 

You learn a lot about traveling, destinations and people in canada because you really serve the whole country. Inuit, eastern townships, alberta, bc etc. You speak with educated customers. Most have senior positions, some have a lot of money and yes they use those points to travel in business. Many are very well traveled.

Management in the the company is not great, not horrible nor exceptional.

I would be hesitant to recommend this company because it care less and less about its employees. 
More of the focus is about making it streamline and turning great profit. Which it is supposed to do. But a lot of those benefits then just fall back to just the upper management and CEO's. They are turning it into a great money making machine, so hats to that. But the call center has quite the sour feelings.

The company does not have a true culture. Some management may thinks it has but it's more a formality.

To be honest, the nature of the work is not so bad. People call in to book trips, and you definitely learn lots about the airline industry. It is a good place to start if this is a field that interests you. 

If you stay long enough in the company, the compensation is also not bad. It is however a unionized environment so it does take forever to move up the ladder if you are ever given the opportunity to do so. 

In terms of career advancement, there is none. Competition with colleagues also none. Out of all places I have worked at, this call center has the nicest people I have ever met. From people who bring in home cooking, to people who will help you do shifts, to people who really become your family. I love all my coworkers, honestly.

CONS: I was laid off twice within 2 years. I have been there total of 3 years. The place is downsizing and there is no place to stay up. There is no job security and information is not transparent. News is communicated poorly from upper management to agents.

Not that this review will matter in a few years, as it seems like this companies time is running out, but this was by far the worst job i ever had. They spent 3 months trainning me on their reservation system solely, and as soon as i was done and put to work, all they talked about was sales which was NEVER mentioned during training or my interview. My managers couldn't do my job. Think about that for a moment...what manager doesn't know how to do his underlings job? They suspended me for a day because according to their witness, my manager, i went to the toilet for 5 minutes, which in their eyes constitues an illigal work stoppage. They cut a bunch of peoples hours in half, without warning, and then threw a party for management where everyone got bonuses, right in front of our faces. But above all that, the worst part of Aeroplan is how they treat their customers. And they're a loyalty program!!! Stay away from Aeroplan & Aimia. Their a pyramid scheme ready to fall.

I worked at Aeroplan for about 2 years. I would say that training was the best part of this job, 3 months of good hours, decent pay and no BS.
Once you hit the floor, you then deal with so many office politics. 1, youre unionized, so first off you lose a good chunk of your paycheck every month to dues. Most of the office is run on seniority basis, you want good shifts, good vacation, have you been working here for 10 years or more? No? take a hike!
There are no promotions here, no matter how hard you work your butt off, because, the union makes it so.
Management is a joke, you get a side by side coaching once every few weeks, that they tell you how youre performing. If they can't find anything wrong with your calls, theyll make something up.
Vacations, shift allocations are all bid on, seniority first. Be prepared to sell your shifts for $$$.

Lack of fundamental fairness. I was fired without even being told my performance was unsatisfactory or being given the opportunity to improve.  When I was fired, the union representative sat in the room like deadwood - doodling.. You pay high union dues and end up without minimal fairness practiced in other call centres without unions. Their human resource policies are from the old country, where doctors' notes are just "pieces of paper". Moreover, there are so many other deductions that I made the same take-home pay as when I made $12.00/hr. Management doesn't have a clue about the actual technical work of their agents because they don't know how anything operates.  

Aimia talks a good game but that's all it is - talk.

Responsible to respond to and assist customers with their accounts and to provide and up sell services and retain customers. Being plugged in and constantly monitored to achieve every increasing criteria that at some points not very realistic. Establishing metrics that employees with 20 years experience were achieving and expecting even new recruits to hit those targets. Work schedule highly impacted family life without proper remuneration to compensate for.

Aeroplan has a very friendly atmosphere, where people are often happy and willing to help each other.

The location is convenient as it is beside Vendome metro station, with a variety of stores and restaurants around it.

Schedules are very flexible, allowing you to have tons of family time. Benefits are also great. And finally, management is very approachable and easy to talk to.

Very little work life balance unless you declare what you are willing to work and what your boundaries are, even then management is more interested in output than balance. 
Most co workers are fantastic.
Management needs an overhaul, most don't have the guts to make decisions or stand up for their teams and their business unit. 
Location is great.

Dislike the low minimum wage salaries for high stress demanding jobs like being on the phone all day not only dealing mostly with upset customers but also multi-tasking multiple websites and online programs to provide the service.
The 5 day work week does not really give any sort of freedom to use the amazing travel pass benefits.

You cannot get rest between calls

Constant pressure to sell 

Poor computer program, you have constantly to tackle on the computer. Super slow.  

Call monitoring and evaluation 

Supervisors have nothing to do, but to harass. They are paid for nothing.
