Been working with AFIMAC in Canada for 3 years as a PI doing labour disputes exclusively. First and only agency I've actually done work for despite technically being an employee of 3 other agencies. Overall I've had a good experience with the company but this line of work is definitely not for everyone.

Overall AFIMAC seems to have improved since I began working for them in ways such as updating outdated equipment, reducing redundant paperwork and removing notoriously negative and difficult employees.

Pros

-Great income with overtime (84 hrs/week).

-Many interesting and friendly people to work with.

-Most management I've encountered are good, understanding, helpful and knowledgeable people.

-Very little favourtism shown by most management.

-Per diem (although low compared to other similar agencies).

-Usually no management breathing down your neck as long as your work gets done.


Cons

-Position workload can be hugely variable (one position can have a large amount of paperwork compared to another) with no difference in compensation.

-Very disorganized project beginnings and sometimes inefficient work practices.

-Living in hotels (sometimes with same shift roommate but this is rare).

-Work, sleep, eat lifestyle starts to wear you down overtime.

-Taking time off during a project can be difficult/dangerous as your fill-in can replace you indefinately in some situations. (Not sure what dictates this).

-Below average PI wage compared to most other similar agencies but AFI seems to get way more work compared to other agencies likely because of this (lower bids on client contracts).

Now this may seem like few pros and lots of cons but the income alone trumps most of the cons as long as you can handle basically having 2 seperate lives. This job can be a good first stepping stone for new PI's to learn the basics and make some good money or a new volatile way of life if you so choose.

Worst company to work with. They don't give a rat A** about you life and personal safety. I complained about safety issues to the management several times but they are always in denial. I wouldn't recommend anyone to ever apply to their job posting as a security guard. Moreover, they put new immigrants to the situations that violates human rights. They also expect everyone to follow the same practices like a mindless robots.

The education I received was by far the best.  The training personnel provided real-life scenarios they have encountered in previous labor disputes. 

If I had questions, they were answered. 

It was a pleasure to work with AFIMAC. 

If you are a company,  I highly recommend hiring AFIMAC to provide you with professional services for your labor disputes. 

They provided all necessary equipment for surveillance and communications.

Dirty job. Felt sleazy just being part of the company. I did like the traveling, but that was it. Couldn’t get away from them fast enough. Yuk. 
I know the difference between not having ‘thick enough skin’ and being disrespected, and this was the most degrading position I’ve ever had. This wouldn’t be the place to apply if you’re looking for a reputable, healthy-ish and valuable experience. This is where you work to figure out what you DON’T want in a company.

I got lucky i was assign to a group with very good working chemistry. The team work was so amazing the we get our job done fast and in a safe way

This company is behind the rest of the other Security Companies . They don’t pay per diem up front  place it in your check. You have to wait two weeks or longer to get that check . Management lacks understanding and will not make the necessary changes  This company always has work and they could really be one of the better companies in the industry if they would listen to there Security Officers in the field and field Supervisors ,

In short, great place to work if you like a change of pace. Every project is different, work comes in waves so be prepared for some time off contracts, but you get enough work per year to easily make it worth it. Lots of money in overtime hours. If you are someone who likes to grind hard then have some time off, it is a perfect job for that. Very flexible. 

Been working with AFIMAC for a couple of years and had a lot of opportunities for working in all aspects of the security industry. Best things about this company is great pay, flexible schedule, travel opportunities.

Want to help company management make more money while simultaneously ensuring that you'll never have a decent job in your chosen profession? Yes? Then this is the job for you! 

Run away from this place. They are lining their own pockets while you sell your soul.

Make sure you read over your contract. You may be entitled to overtime wages as I was.
