AIESEC

This organization is complete garbage and should not be operating under legal grounds. I did a volunteer exchange back in 2018 with the host country being Mexico. My exchange was horrific. The organization in Canada sells you the exchange first just so they can get money and then leaves you on your own to navigate with the headache caused by the other host committee in the exchange country. Once I was on my exchange, the Mexican committee was very disorganized as they had me stay with a different host family every week for the duration of 6 weeks. I was living with 6 different families that I was uncomfortable with as there was a culture and social shock with the people there. Not only that but my last host family had decided to abandon me two days before my departure from Mexico and my committee argued with me as to how I needed to find a hotel for myself and my own basic necessities. Thank god I took the situation to the control board and they refunded me for the costs of the two nights that I spent out of pocket when technically all three meals and accommodations were to be covered during the full stay. The host committee did not drop off any exchange participants to the airport, instead the people from host schools we volunteered with had to drop us at the airport. Aiesec failed to prove themselves and left me traumatized. I would never in my life be stupid enough to go with this so called organization again anywhere. Especially in a third world, underdeveloped country.

- A typical day at work is going to meetings, establishing tasks, discussing international culture and growth and what AIESEC is trying to promote.Talking to an exchange participant and assisting them with all inquires, motivating them to secure a job and constantly following up with them. 

- I learned about patience and how essential it is in an organizational setting. I learned about unity and global development, cultural differences and why wars happen. I improved my communications skills, and my punctuality. Most importantly, I learned about professionalism and how important it is.

- In terms of management, organizing meetings, working with a new database, searching internship and finding suitable internships for exchange participants. 

- My co-workers are AMAZING. We all have a positive attitude and environment. We work together and support each other through all the processes.

- The hardest part of my job is to ensure that the exchange participant stays on track and to ensure that they get what they want.

- Most enjoyable part of the job is watching the exchange participant's growth from when they first joined AIESEC to when they come back from the internship. They are completely different people.

My experience with AIESEC has been both rewarding and transformative. Working in a dynamic, multicultural environment allowed me to develop strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. I contributed to organizing projects, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and ensuring smooth execution of initiatives. The fast-paced nature of AIESEC challenged me to think critically, manage time effectively, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

One of the most valuable aspects was collaborating with passionate individuals who were driven to create meaningful social impact. This experience helped me build confidence in presenting ideas, taking ownership of responsibilities, and working toward shared goals. Additionally, I gained a deeper understanding of global perspectives and cultural sensitivity.

Overall, AIESEC provided a platform for both personal and professional growth. It strengthened my ability to work in teams, solve problems creatively, and lead with purpose, making it a highly enriching experience.

A typical day at work involved with updating both our Vice President and coworkers on any ongoing progress for meetings, contracts, open/closed accounts and/or new emails. Our management team consisted of the VP who was in charge of us and was the cornerstone for our mentality. 
The hardest part of the job was cold calling at first, however, over time, I have been able to master cold calling and was comfortable with receiving rejections if companies were not interested in developing a relationship/partnership.
My co-workers are amazing people full of talent, and exchanging ideas and how best to approach clients was the most enjoyable part of the job.
As for the Human Resources side, I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing potential interns from around the world and applying my skills.

As it is a volunteer work, we contributed 10 hours per week to AIESEC. I was a shy girl before, however, during the volunteer work with AIESEC, I become more open minded and gain a lot of communication skills. My co-workers are friendly and helpful. They encourage to step out my comfort zones and develop my personal skills. The hardest part of the job is when we are doing cold calls, it is depressed to get rejected. However, from practice day to day, I get more used to it. The most enjoyable part of this job for me is to get to know people from different countries and help them to have a enjoyable internship experience in Canada.

AIESEC is a not-for-profit student organization. It has branches all over the world. It sends and receives internship for the students all over the world. I am the director of accounting in one of the branches-- AIESEC guelph. I am responsible for taking care of the financial binder and making the journal entries and financial statements every month. Making sure every transaction is recorded is one of my job responsibility. Teamwork is very important in this organization and what's more, passion is needed to make the organization better. To be proud of, this organization is never lack of passion. This spirit encourages me and makes me want to contribute more.

AIESEC was a student internship in which I learned a huge amount about communications and corporate relations. It was not paid as it was a professional volunteer based experience.

I learned how to connect with media outlets to properly promote and explain the organization of AIESEC, which helped students gain work experience abroad. I also learned how to create relations with corporations and companies through communication and networking.
I worked with a team of people, which was sometimes hard to coordinate but overall very rewarding

AIESEC is a worldwide organization that wishes to promote peace and maximize the human kinds potential through sending students on exchange. As an exchange participant (EP) manager, I helped to promote our programs at the beginning of every semester through boothing and seminars. When I was assigned exchange participants, I helped them to search for exchange opportunities, find the one that matches with them, and also answer whatever questions they have before they go on exchange.

Had to arrange group classes everyday. Learned about the Polish culture. Management was kind of sloppy since it was students who were running the program, the hardest part was definitely to communicate with the Polish students and come up with strategies to maximize their learning. The best part about this job was the flexibility and the chance and encouragement to travel

AIESEC focuses on youth-leadership and soft skills. It's most enjoyable as it is youth-run so everything is relatable to young people. 

The use of the internet is very important in terms of communicating with different cultures and marketing, catering to different types of young people. From university students to professors as well, this opportunity is very fun as well.
