AIL is a life insurance company, and it's sales. Of course you get charge backs if you sell bad business, but that's because they pay you up front as if the client had already payed a year. That's how it works in any sales company, but what sets AIL apart is the opportunity for growth and the training. They also provide you with people to see meaning you don't have to go sell your friends and family. 
You get one on one time with managers throughout the training process, they show you how to work and help you stay accountable to yourself. At the end of the day, the managers here do not need their trainees to make money because they make enough to support themselves. That means that it's on you to take this seriously and show them you're worth investing in. If you give them the time and a positive attitude, they will take you from 0 experience in sales to an effective agent in a matter of months. 
You can also train and recruit people under yourself, meaning that you can work with your friends and not just sell them. There is nobody above you stopping you from getting promoted, promotion is based on defined results. The top guy in our company started off in the same place we all did.
The best part about working here is the renewals, which means that you can make money for the rest of your life off of work you did previously. Every year you stay, your base line income increases exponentially as you get better at your job and renewals accumulate.

I have been part of the BP Agencies, Oakville for the past 3 months now. Since I came from an Engineering background, I was unsure of my decision to join the company but the moment I attended the webinar and then ultimately, in an interview, I realized that this is something I am aspired to do since the whole point of every individual working here is to serve people and our community in order to protect the lives and the future of their loved ones. Even though in the hiring process, I was informed that I had to get a license done but still I decided to go ahead with it solely because of the bigger picture of protecting families. Now, I am in my 4th month with this company and every time I see families thanking me and showing their gratitude towards me, I sense the success and the satisfaction which I was lacking in my previous background. The amount of effort you put in would be directly proportional to the amount of income you will be getting each week, even though it's completely commission-based, it would never be unfair to the amount of effort you are putting into it. Along with giving you job security during this pandemic, you have the opportunity to be successful with each day on the basis of your work with multiple advances, bonuses, rewards, and many more potential earning income/benefits.

No method to the training. All over the place. You have three different trainers telling you three different things. Your training is intense and you are suppose to know the product, understand the crm system, know the presentation get out and be calling within days!  Not advising  low income families the best and  the cheapest option for them but the one that will make the most commission.  You are not paid for training, but expected to be free at all hours of the day and night whenever it suits the manger to give you 5 minutes of rush rush training. Yet you are not an employee but an independent contractor.  Overall, I was out of pocket $$$ ....School, Exam, License costs etc..all  before you join. Mostly you get victimized. Managers are making clear mistakes in their presentation style, are not qualifed to train, some have very poor english. The system is outdated. If they actually paid their managers a basic salary they could pick and choose their managers more carefully and people with potential would not give up out of sheer frustration at being badly managed and if you complain or speak the truth you get let go.

I am currently working as a life and benefits advisor at BP Agencies at Oakville, Ontario. I have enjoyed the past few months working here and it is a great and friendly environment. The hiring process was fairly easy and after being recruited, I had to complete a provincial license before I could start working. Getting the license was straightforward – it requires you to sit for provincial licensing exams after you finish your online certification exams and BP agencies helped me with the registration process. The onboarding process is structured and easy. The management team is dedicated and professional. The perks of doing this job are that you do it from home, at your own pace and time. The rewards are directly proportional to the efforts you put in, and you can expect large bonuses for meeting targets. The best part of BP Agencies and AIL is that you are given leads and support, which is great, and from what I have heard not many companies offer this. Overall, I am very happy and would highly recommend BP Agencies.

I applied to a job post for entry level management. I specifically applied because I do not have too much management experience so I wanted to get my foot in the door at entry level. Most places didn't respond to my resume so I was actully pretty glad I got a call back.

First, a phone interview, then second was a personal interview. The second interview was a bit more laid back than the first phone interview. I passed the personal interview, and actually made it through the group. Initially I didn't know too much about the role, but I applied anyways because the job post stated they provided benefits and I didn't have to work weekends. 

The group interview was very interesting. I had come in thinking it was a just an office position where I assisted in paperwork or some admin stuff but it turns out it was something different that I had never gotten into before or even had a clue about.

They told me after the group interview that they would let me know if I got the job or not. Unfortunately I didn't receive a call or email.

Insurance can really pay off if you have a lot of money saved and are agressive enough to make sales. I was just out of college Living on minimum wage, so I couldn't afford it anymore. It made me pretty resentful knowing I had to work weekends if I wanted to make a decent living. Worst of all, my managers made more money on every sale I made. This is a multi level marketing company. They will not put out any money for you. You have to pay for everything yourself. All of the tools you need, laptop, phone, car (etc.) 
Honestly it was very unfair. This company is not honest with how hard it will be to sell insurance. They make you sit through the top managers on how successful they are, hoping you will be as prosperous as they are, when over 90 percent of agents leave within their first year. I would avoid multi-level marketing companies like this one. They are deceitful and try to upsell customers on insurance that is really expensive and doesn't meet their needs.

This job was perfect for me...
I was a waitress / restaurant supervisor before starting at this company. I had just finished travelling for 5 months straight when I started this job. 
From Day one I had tons of support and help .
As long as I was willing to put work in there was always someone to answer my question so that I could progress and not get stuck.

management is more like friends who want to help you succeed. 
culture... each time I go into the office it's like catching up with old friends.

hardest part of the job is the grind... nothing comes easy so just showing up isnt enough.Put the work in and you will 100% pay off in the long run 1000% more.

I love that this job has enabled me to buy my first home, take my parents on vacation, give me the flexibility to travel and work as much and make as much as i want.
There is nothing stopping me from succeeding but myself

I was not expecting cold calling all day long. You are presented with what are referred to as warm leads but the majority are at least a couple of years old and when you call the potential clients either don't know who AIL is, don't remember requesting any information or don't need the benefits any more.
There is a potential to make a very comfortable living but that is more the exception than the rule. The perks are great (luxury clothing, cars, travel) but again, you have to be in the top percentile of earners in order to qualify for these perks. 100 percent commission. If you want a benefit plan then you need to purchase one (ie health care, dental etc) 

There's a lot off different and growing unique opportunities out there and this company definitely has the best. Truly lucrative because of benefits and compensation packages. You truly get what you're worth out of this opportunity and as well get to enjoy great group benefits just like any other "job" out there. The initial investment in yourself is pretty minimal considering potential return on your investment. And because we are unionized they've negotiated a nice retirement compensation after only a few years of service compared to what we're used to after 40-50yrs at a job. During our years of service we get to enjoying have a very flexible schedule, and work as hard or smart as we like.

I applied for the sales position online one year ago and was definitely sceptical when I was first offered the job. But now, one year later, I can happily say that accepting this job was the best decision I’ve ever made. I am now building myself a CAREER, not just a job. I was able to move into a management position in under 6 months. The compensation is performance based - so the harder you work the more you get paid. I am so proud to work in a commission-based position... I love being able to write my own payckeck every single week. 

The management team is also incredible. The most supportive group of people I have ever met. It’s pretty hard to come across leaders and mentors that care about your success as much as these people do.
