I enjoy working here overall. It is a busy operational environment with a small office team supporting a large field workforce, so there is always a lot going on.

The people are generally the best part of the job. There are many hard-working, practical people across the organization, and there is a lot of knowledge and experience in both the field and management teams.

It is a good workplace for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced operational setting and does not mind dealing with changing priorities. Like many large, unionized operational workplaces, communication between field staff, management, and corporate teams can sometimes take longer than expected. That said, there are good processes, clear goals, and a lot of hard-working people across the business.

On the corporate side, Acciona is a very large company, so there is access to talented expertise, internal training, and mentoring. There are very experienced people across the wider business, and even when someone moves to other project, the knowledge and support network is still there. It is a great place for someone who wants to learn, develop professionally, and gain experience in a large, structured organization while still working in a practical, operations-focused environment.

Overall, I like working here and think it is a good place for someone who enjoys a busy, practical, operations-focused workplace.

My time with Aim Roads was seasonal for two winters. Drove plow trucks some being new and excellent equipment. Other old equipment was really bad and some units were unsafe to drive with steering issues.
Upper management were great very appreciative of what you accomplished in the shift. Middle management was where the issues were constantly. Bullying, intimidation were common. I witnessed many times foreman harassed young new operators.
Everyone seemed to want to tell everyone else what to do and how to do it!
Definitely not enough men and equipment to do the job. Overtime was supposed to be an option but it was not you were told you had to stay until next shift relieved you!
I really enjoyed the work but as you see often its people who ruin the job for you.
Aim needs to isolate those who are in charge of each shift and send those key people to management courses where people skills are taught!
Main complaint I had is no people skills with middle management shift foreman in particular. No people skills constantly complaining about  other shift foreman instead of working as a team and setting a good example in work and ethics

4 day work week, 9.37 hrs pr day, overtime during winter hrs

shoddy equipment, poor maintenance, mickey mouse repairs.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
management, foremans are concerned about $$$ not workers and job quality, they trip over 100 dollar bills to pick up pennies.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
show up, get marching orders, head out to do the job, only to have plans changed time and time again by micro manager foreman.

They care very little for employees. Late and sometimes inaccurate pay checks . Intimidation and poor management. Did not follow COVID protocols or environmental regulations . A poor work culture of elitism, intimidation, and favouritism. Incompetent middle and upper management. Not a pleasant place to work. Not approachable management they do not listen to employees concerns and rely on intimidation as a management style. “ if you don’t like it, there’s the door” style. Poor or non existent training on equipment.

it's not a bad place to work at as I've seen worse.Seasonal auxiliary doesn't get any benefits of any kind. expect to work long hrs but you work òn rotation like 4 days on 3 days off then 3 days on 4 days off wich is great. management and most coworkers are good ppl. wages aren't bad but you only work 4 months a yr ...that and the no benefits are a real deal breaker for me.expect your schedule and starting time to be changeď often.

Having to goto work to deal with no minds  that have no idea what’s going on

Stressfull not 1 person wants to be there

Boring and stressful and gay as beans

Drove snowplow for Scotch Creek, BC branch. 

Pros - Forman was friendly and fair. Pay cheque was consistent.

Cons - Equipment is in a constant state of needing repair.  Work is seasonal so job security is low. Have to pay union dues but no union support for seasonal workers.

I enjoyed my time with AIM a lot of re-orfanizatiin on an ongoing basis.  Be prepared to move around the office a lot.  Constant change. Management are good people and treat you with respect.  I enjoyed the work environment unfortunately due to my position being removed I no longer work with them.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone was very welcoming and very helpful.  Best job I've ever had!  I miss it, and everyone I worked with!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything. The job was very interesting and dun.

Would be better if I did not have so far to travel to get to work. The wage is way ro low, it cost me a lot in fuel to get to work, plus the 40 to 50 minutes to get to work and 40 to 50 to get home.
