My role as Purchasing Manager included a large range of responsibilities, other than guiding and leading a Purchasing Department (2 direct reports). Annual Purchase Volume: 14 Mio CAD.
I worked extensively in international cross functional teams in Canada and the US an in close collaboration with our Production team, QC, E H &S, Accounting and with Hiram Walker in Windosor, ON as I was also resposible for procurement of dry goods supplis for Canadian Club Whisky, that is a product of Beam and is produced and bottled in Windsor
I left Alberta Distillers in Aug 2013 after almost seven years, as I decided to take a longer absence of leave to support my family in Germany due to serious health issues of my mother.

I've delivered grain here on several accasions and if you want to wait a long time to offload come here.
Longest wait I've had is 16 hous,  shortest is 3.5.

If this company is an example of how a union should be run then the whole thing should be sacked.
I would like to see trucks stop coming here for a period of time so that this workplace could see who supplies there jobs. No trucks no jobs.

It's an absolutely discusting experience trying to deliver here.

Good company to work ,but is very minimal chance for advance.
Every day is some challenge,to be part of decision making,and sometimes very frustrating  to do the jobs "just for today" because of money savings now and paying much more in the future. The most enjoyable time when You left alone with decision making and satisfaction of the job done

Great people at Alberta Distillers.

Fantastic history.  The products produced at ADL are under-rated and under-valued.  With numerous International awards for the bottled spirits of Vodka and Whiskey you must recognize the people who make such wonderful spirits.

This is generally a good pace to work if all you want to do is punch in do your tasks and punch out, but not if you wish to advance in a more challenging role. There has not been any promotional movements in the company during my time with it. For an individual who wishes to grow with a company this is not the place.

Sometimes very difficult understand unwanted person.I learnt so many good things from my work different people different mentality.Management is nice.workplace is nice but washroom is makes me little bit disappointed.

Peers were discriminatory. 
Union only benefits the elder and themselves.
No career advancements possible.
Great pay.
Funny fact: Christmas gifts from Dollarama.

overall good place to work. the management team made the difference. when you knew your job you were not hounded or followed. they allowed you to do your work knowing it would be done.TRUST

have to deal with poor management a lot of people and i learned a lot of diffrent postions in the company and union shop was there for 16 years and i did every thing i was asked to do
