I enjoyed my position and was given lots of latitude to create strategies and develop programs for students and staff in regards to mental health and wellness.
There was many internal challenges as for management which made the proposed changes to take effect which had to do with very outdated mindset, and preservation of security and status quo.
Otherwise loved working with educators and directors during my stay at this position.

After 6 interviews and they only hired within family that worked at the school board. Very frustrating. Over all I feel like I was never given a chance.

Acceptance and a real sense of community

Violent behaviours that are escalating 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
My experience has been absolutely wonderful 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Great! I love working with and supporting both staff and students.

Save your life energy.  I made it my own awesome job until covid and the children's library was closed in every school.

Management is not supportive and the Director undermines everyone around him

It is not a work environment that was welcoming, it was a toxic space. 

Job position it self was flexible and the student was great to work with. I was frequently on recess and bus coverage, while other staff covered maybe one or two

Staff was very divided into social groups which made the staff room awkward and uncomfortable.

Great school board to work for. Many locations, small to larger schools, understanding and helpful staff and teachers. Oppertunity for long term positions and possible permanent ones. 

Worked as a custodian for a summer student job. Good hours, short work weeks. Worked at several different schools (rotating week-week), all supervisors were friendly, informative and trusting. Mostly involved cleaning classrooms, waxing floors, cleaning bathrooms. Low-stress job.

They treat you like you are expendable and do not care about if you have a family of your own as they want your main focus to be on them and them alone. You will get harassed by needing to take a day to care for your sick children

Great place to work and meet new people.  Feeling of job well done.  I have had many work opportunities and to learn many different areas of the school board.

Such a great place to work! I loved my job as a LTO Youth Worker! I was brand new to the field right out of graduation and they made me feel so welcomed and supported! It gave me such great skills and experience to move forward in my career!
