I learn so many new things about mining and Pxrf lab testing, how to improve my self confidence, and get new friends and always get support when I go mistakes they ask about why I did that wrong and teaching me how to again don’t do that mistake again and improve my skills. Good environment but winter time to work little hard because it’s big warehouse , and noisy , who will like different knowledge and investment opportunities it’s a best place improve our skills 

I'd suggest getting experience here, then moving on. Lab is high volume, which leads to many entry level jobs feeling more like factory work rather than scientific. Hourly pay is not great, especially when starting out, which is why there's a high turnover in the lower end jobs. 

Management is quick to take away perks from employees (Christmas bonuses, forcing vacation etc) but doesn't really share during successful times. 

Most enjoyable part is working as part of a group.

I found ALS to be a fine place to work during my time there. My coworkers were all good people, friendly and helpful, and management was very considerate. The pay was low, but I found work/life balance to be good: daily workload fit quite well into the normal working hours. The main drawback is lack of job security. Since it’s an environmental testing lab, you will experience a lot of seasonal swings in workload. Expect temporary layoffs in the winter.

You're given a worklist to start from, prioritizing the work with the closest due date and you just do your work. I learned time management skills and the hardest part about the job is the repetitiveness of it, the most enjoyable part of the job would have to be the people that work there. Managers and supervisors are friendly.

The working environment is relax and  I learned to be more flexible with different tasks.I can approach my superiors anytime, the workplace culture is productive when busy.  The hardest part of the job is lifting heavy boxes but I learned to enjoy it.

As a business development rep you have the autonomy to go to meetings and plan your day but you are expected to punch a time clock for hourly pay. Management is supportive with training and work/life balance. Office environment extremely negative - a lot of gossip.

Good and Caring Staff with experienced people. The company has projects and allows people take various opportunities. Only thing is that the job is seasonal since the process completely depends on how much samples is submitted by clients for testing.

Really loved working here people are fantastic and dedicated. Senior team is innovative, driven and creative and supports the staff and values. There is meaningfulness to the work.

Overall it was a good experience. Some co-workers were helpful and kind. During summer lab is very busy, however, they tend to do layoffs on winter season as the volume of water samples decreases around this time.

Basically fixed routine tasks, no much room to learn and grow unless you work hard to move up. Management is average.  Was paied at minimum, enough to cover the living cost in Saskatoon.
