I take the liberty to introduce myself as one of the promising contender in the domain of Treasury with an enriched post qualification experience of 18 years with wide array of treasury products in the field of Cash & Liquidity Management, Foreign Exchange & Risk Management, Resource Mobilisation & Structuring, Portfolio Management, Trade Services & Compliance.
 
As Regional Treasurer- Asia Pacific, at present I am leading the treasury functionalities for the Asia-Pacific region of ALSTOM, a multinational giant with a turnover of more than Euro 20 Billion with the base of over 100 countries. During the past years, I have gained my experiences along with the Private Sector, Maharatna Central Public Sector, MNCs and have received several awards for outstanding contributions in the domain of treasury.
 
To cater the business needs, I have played a pivotal role to strengthen the banking relationships of more than fifty local and multinational banks and financial institutions across the APAC region. Moreover my key strength includes the optimisation of cost of debt, funding of the green field and brownfield projects, risk management and innovative hedging strategy, and reduction of trapped cash.  The financial closure of US$ 500 Million of ALSTOM Bharat Forge Power Limited (greenfield project) has been acknowledged as “deal of the year” in 2011. The four consecutive (highest ever) “Block Trade” transactions of equivalent to US$ 1.5 Bn, were coordinated and executed at the floor of stock exchange with no slippage in timeline and spread. This transaction was as a part of the global acquisition of transmission business of Areva by ALSTOM. The non-fund based bonding lines upto eleven years with a total of US$ 2 Bn for different greenfield and brownfield projects have been achieved only at 18 to 25bps. The first parent ECB in INR of the country has been structured to reduce external borrowings. Structuring of working capital fund based lines to the tune of US$ 100 Million has substantially reduced the cost of debt for Alstom’s Grid business.

My experience with this employer has been nothing short of terrible. The management is unprofessional, which creates a toxic work environment that negatively impacts employees' mental health and job satisfaction. 

One of the most significant issues I have experienced with this employer is the lack of job security. There is a lot of uncertainty about the stability of the organization, and there have been numerous layoffs, dismissals and restructuring efforts that have left employees feeling vulnerable and uncertain about their future with the company. This is particularly problematic because it makes it difficult to plan for the future and can create a lot of stress and anxiety for employees who are worried about losing their jobs. It can ultimately have a negative impact on the success of the company as a whole.
In summary, I would strongly advise anyone considering working for this employer to think twice. The negative aspects of the workplace culture, unprofessional management, and lack of job security make for an incredibly stressful and demoralizing work experience. It is simply not worth it to put yourself in such an uncertain and potentially unstable position.

Horrible horrible place to work!!! Absolutely no direction or training, here’s your tools, and………GO! Your team mates will give you wrong information, and watch you make big mistakes, then throw you under the bus, because they are all worried about there jobs, everyone in each department stands each other in the back, for the coveted lead hand position, each team member states they don’t want the position, but all completely desire, it, and cutthroat to get the position and constantly throw each other under the bus, if you are a smoker, good for you, smoke break is whenever you want. No kidding, but if you don’t smoke, no break for you until scheduled break the management staff is nothing short of inherited overprivileged job handoff they have absolutely no idea how to manage People pointing fingers is an Olympic sport at Alstom/bombardier stay far away from this place it will be without a doubt, the most irritating, frustrating place you have ever worked my review is of the Kingston plant. It’s just a handful of employees bathing in the former glory of bombardier. Beware, there will only pet you on the back to look for the soft spot to stick that big knife.

For the three months that I was employed at Alstom, I noticed that the majority of personnel were not happy individuals. Not uncommon to walk into the office and get no reply to a simple, "Good morning". Cold atmosphere.

Many managers lack structure, code of ethics, and communication skills. 

Onboarding is not awful as that would require an onboarding process to be in play (yes, management is aware of this as it was brought to their attention on several occasions). Basically, one is on their own from day one as no one explains how the company structure works. Basically, it's a "Ask questions if ya got 'em" company. Very frustrating for those who wish to excel at their given position.

No operational procedures in place. Zero cookbooks to help out a new employee. Answers to questions come across as rushed. Yes, you're pretty much on your own.

On the plus side, Alstom has a lot of work coming in. If you can overlook my first few paragraphs, you may just have a promising future here.

Coffee.Morning meeting with the team.Yesterday's problems in the work,progress review,how to proceed,-if needed- new job allocation.Keep working with the template studies,if something new is required ,where to look,what to do.Big library with Norms, Specs,old Projects, technical data is available.My collegues in the Grid Engineering Team have been evoluted to be self-sufficient;five people: one gentleman,four ladies ,3 to 5 years of experience.Our Company is multinational,our subsidiary involves 3 sectors : Power Generation,Transport, Power distribution/transmission (Grid).The management is complicated after our merge.Projects that cover a wide area.We follow-up nearly ten countries.Most difficult part of the job is to extract information over a long distance call when correspondance becomes stacking.We are enjoying occasonally a Site visit to inspect the correct implementation of the studies.It breakes the routine!

Manager that hired me had an issue with me from the start,from the first moments of the interview. I neeeeever understood why this guys actually hired me because all he did after this is looking for any mistakes to fire me. The team lead I was assigned in the first few months was an awful person who cared only about himself and his teammates which we’re from the same country as him. He overworked me for 12 hours and a half,4 days in a row,out in the cold until I got pneumonia . I was reported every time I called in sick to the recruiting company even if I was late because of a car accident meanwhile other employees from other teams would miss almost every shift! They don t care about you as a human being at all! They are just mean people that dictate and rule. They don t have a clue about what theire suppost to do! Awfull place! Awfull job. The recruiting company never cared that I was falsely reported. Management didn t even ask me if those reports were for good reason. Don t ever WORK THERE! WORST MANAGEMENT EVER IN THE PAST 6 years!

While the company paid well, the main problem I had with Alstom was that the company's upper brass in France and Spain didn't seem to have much knowledge or interest in what was going on in the Montreal office beyond the financial results.

This resulted in having to adhere to company guidelines, protocols, and development and quality process elaborated for physical railway equipment having to be used for the much faster moving software process. 

Ultimately, the stubborn adherence to protocol overall is what is hurting the company on the global level, as it makes it harder for it to react to issues and changes in the marketplace.

Absolutely terrible place to work. We get treated like absolute garbage. Worst management. It's funny because, upon reading the other reviews, it seems like the people who work for other parts of the company don't think Alstom is that bad. I guess our operation is special. Seriously, if anyone offers you a job working for Alstom as a GO Train operator, don't do it. Stay away. It will make your life miserable.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not labour intensive. Many hours on standby, which can be daunting if you are easily bored

Lack of administrative assistance and organization 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Must be self sufficient at learning tasks. Very little administrative training

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
2-4 hours of 10 hour shift on assignment. 6 to 8 hours keeping busy with cleaning and redundant work

Alstom is not easy to work for. They ask a lot of their salaried employees and they are incredibly stingy on pay increases. I've never had worse management in my life.

That said, I still work here. Most jobs at Alstom are temporary assignments, since everything is dependant on fixed production contracts with municipalities. Because these sites get up quick and go down quick, they hire whoever they get their hands on. 

The experience I'm gaining is gonna look good on a resume, but the damage to my soul might never heal.
