Working at AMI offers a high degree of autonomy — you’re rarely interrupted and can focus on your tasks independently, which is a major advantage. However, long-term career development can be difficult. Supervisory decisions often seem influenced more by complaints than by actual performance, particularly because the supervisor lacks technical expertise. This can result in misunderstandings and undervaluation of competent employees who don’t fit a preferred profile

Personally I just plainly can't say enough good about AMI.
They hired me with no knowledge of the job I was required to do (and I might add while still recovering from legionnaires disease that I caught in USA while driving) and trained me on one of the most advanced laser/plasma that existed. 
Then made me leadhand !
The only reason I left after 3 years was I was just to old to continue moving the steel in a timely manner!



Don't expect to make it past your 3 month probationary period unless you are somehow able to do the work of multiple people! They would much rather fire you a day before your 3 months is up, than start paying for benefits. And they have an endless supply of migrant workers (also let go before they receive any kind of benefits). Look elsewhere: your time here has an expiration date.

Good company to start a career, at entry-level to learn more insights about how the heavy-equipment industry works. The workplace culture is decent and not so great. However, the company really matters about the work-life balance of their employees.

Worked there for quite a while before I left 
Was rather chaotic at times and management wasn't always the most helpful 
Constant break downs of machines 
Too much responsibility on people that shouldn't have had that much responsibility 
Overall decent place to work just crazy at times

The head warehouse supervisor is very set in his ways and will always back the other workers that have been there longer and talks down to everyone else like you are stupid and have no idea what you are doing.

The company hires mainly mennonites and christians, if you dont belong to those groups your opinion and work qill be treated as "second class worker". Won't pay for all the work you do and they have some safety issues.

best thing about it is the OT. 
no one bugs you, you come in, do your work and leave. 
Pay is the only reason im staying, which after hearing what the new guys make is not so good

A great place to start and build a career. It takes continual motivation and striving for the best in order to do well here. Coworkers are usually good to work with and work environment is quite good overall.
