April is the worst company in the insurance industry. The company is struggling and everyone is quitting and leaving. The executive team is terrible and completely unqualified. They underpaid people they will say anything to get you in the door, including bragging about an award that they nominated themselves for. Brokers  are refusing to use this company because the service is bad and any underwriter who works here leaves as soon as they can. You will regret it if you work here. 

Never work for this company!!! No proper training and they put all blame on employee.  Management wants all credits.  Lots of favouritism your hard work and years of service doesn’t count they will promote people they want and lay off without reasonable reason . Some colleagues are backstabber beware!! Poor salary  they will give  false promise and increment to those only they prefer!! Hard time with this company!! 

Everyone is quitting left and right, you need to be good on day one, they say that you don’t experience in insurance but it is false. The salary is okay. They have low staff for they put a lot of pressure on everyone. No training. And not friendly environment to work with 

Great place to work. Management was long distance and not always available. Learnt how insurance works for different commercial applications. Used various insurance app. Talked to brokers from all over Canada.

You have to check the clients’ contracts to see if they can apply for reimbursement. Colleagues were friendly, but there was poor management. It is difficult to advance in your career.

Good place to start career but little opportunity to grow in the company. Low salary, little benefits.

Management is horrible. 
Expectations are ridiculous.
They play legal games with HR. 
Pay is below average.
Well known in the industry as not a good place to work. 

- Creating a calculator (time saved until 10 times)
- Creating and maintaining underwriting files; file documentation as required 
- Answering general underwriting inquiries
