A typical day at work would consist of managing security risks and providing exceptional customer service. Providing detailed briefing and shift reports are also important for the company, property management and yourself. I have learned fro this company the basics in managing people and how to get the best out of your coworkers through involvement in certain situations. In regards to management, i feel as if this company might actually have the worst management around. Scheduling is done last second, there is not motivation, incentives, and only negative reinforcement for bad behaviors as opposed to recognition for a job well done. Many of the coworkers i have met were not the most motivated individuals around. There were the select few that went to work and actually had a goal of making the workplace flourish and had passion in their position but there were not enough of these individuals. The hardest part of the job would be during the select moments when there were residents or other people that were in a bad mood and were yelling and threatening the guards. However through active communication and common sense practices these issues were avoided easily and effectively. The most enjoyable part of the job is when i had a great set of coworkers at the site who did their jobs on point and actively shared a good rapport with one another which made things flow easier and provided an environment that was fun and entertaining.

All in all i got some great work experience in this company. I met a lot of great people that helped me learn more about myself and develop. I learned how to assess people i encounter, in terms of the personality very quickly and began to intuitively understand the most effective way of working with them which i am very grateful for.
The wage isnt great but I get paid on time and accurately. 
The hardest part of the job is multi tasking your clients demands when theres several people who need your help at the same time and also staying awake during night shifts.
The good part is most of the people you meet will make your day fun.
To put it short this job is a good place to start.

Worked for ASG for 1 1/2 years. No raises. Try to overcharge you for uniform items. Then demand them back when you leave ? You could be a new Employee having $300.00 worth of uniform charges ? Joke. Then they demand it back when you leave or they won`t release your last cheque ? Management is a Bad Joke. Other S/G that come from other sites say they are here to sleep ? Don`t tell me about the job l just want to know where Wifi and the office is ? I am here to sleep, if l don`t get 8 hrs sleep there is a big problem ? ASG actually sent these type of S/G to my site ? Management knows how these type of S/G are and still send them to sites ? They just want warm bodies at their sites. Disgrace. Clients, Customers beware.

Was fresh out of college and looking to make a paycheck on construction sites so I did some TC work for them for about 4 months.

Stood outside for hours at a time in the frigid winter. I'll never forget how cold some of those days were. Even with triple socks and double gloves. Management obviously didn't come by on those cold days but when they did, they just made me scrape dirt off the sidewalk.

I met some decent people on some of the sites, but as for the company itself, I wouldn't recommend working here. Typical corporate office garbage, no empathy; I'll never forget buddy's face.

I have worked for a few security companies and ASG was by far my favourite. The pay was a little more than the average and the working schedule was similar to that of other companies. I had the pleasure of being on great terms with my supervisors and managers, which contributed to my positive impression of the organization. If you are looking for a job in security, I would definitely recommend applying to ASG. Good people, opportunities to advance, job security, and very well organized.

I learned how to interact with many different cultures and language barriers.
The hardest part about being a security guard is probably satisfying everyone at once.
My most enjoyable part is working in the heart of downtown Toronto and meeting new people everyday.

This company is a scam, dont ever work for them. Garbage trash, scam disorganized, a bunch of crooked people who dont care about their employees and/or their safety. Dont even consider it, work somewhere, anywhere else.

The company ASG is so poor when it comes to team work. They do not give enough times and all their job sites are very poor and bad workplace.

I learned many things like how to work at night shift, my co-workers are very friendly and environment was very quite, work on Christmas days feels like hardest part of the job.
