I didn't mind the job except in the winter because of the terrible snow storms and standing outside with no seating or shelter close by at some locations. It was easy enough but some drivers would get angry if the pedestrians forgot to press the crosswalk button so their light would be red while the traffic light went green for the cars. When this happened, I would try to stop them to allow for the kids and adults to go and some drivers would honk and get mad. However this has nothing to do with the company and just what happens at the job. I would say the scheduling team is your best friend while the other departments are lacking and not available most times. 

It was hard to get hours because I would be sent texts of the locations. And since I was casual due to no parttime position being available, I had to rush to pick locations or else I would have nothing for the day or even week...

This job is just a resume enhancer. The money is and always will be minimum wage. No room for advancement and no raises. I worked 3 years and the only raises I got were when minimum wage was increased. At the time there was a lot of construction work going and work was abundant. The shift structure was great as I was able to work my desired hours at the time. Soon as the construction work finished, the hours left as well. You are the best person when picking up shifts but if you call in sick or attempt too, you are the worst of the worst. Probably the easiest way to get your raic as asp will take anyone with a security license.

When I started at this company I worked 8 hours a day 5 days a week. The hours were odd and my weekend was not Saturday Sunday but it was fine. We have since been forced to a 12 hour continental shift. The hours are too long, moral has been badly affected and it is no longer a desirable place to work. When we said we did not want to work 12 hour shifts we were told we could go flip burgers at McDonalds then.
Management is basically over educated people with no concept of what it is like to actually work.

If you book off, they will force you to come in. If you call in sick, they will threaten your emloyment. If you check your phone for the time, they will give you a warning letter. If you make a request for anything (uniform replacement, memobook, etc), expect to make the request more than 5 times before they give it to you.

They don't care about your employment rights. They don't give a poo if you did the right thing either. They will replace you in a heartbeat if they don't even like you.

If the schedule conflicts with primary job because that remained secondary job over years where I worked casually part time hours.

Mutual respectful and accommodating .

I do not to say much but the company has to follow its rules and guidelines for professional development. It becomes very tough during the inclement weather and snow to very documents and individual.

No support from the supervisor

I had a very productive and professional experience with ASP Inc. for at least 3 years in Toronto. 

However,  my family moved to Calgary, Alberta in July 2022. I hope to have an opportunity to work
again with the company with a position at the Calgary Airport.  

The new arena contract is a horrific environment without access to washrooms, food, or shade on 40 degree days. Supervisors were constantly quitting and staff would often just not show up due to how bad the conditions were, with multiple staff passing out. Pay issues were also frequent and management was arrogant about these issues. DO NOT work at ASP.
