ATS Ottawa has been critically understaffed for months, with an alarming turnover rate. Very little to no training given, and procedures are often skipped over or inaccurate. They seek to increase work load while making significantly little effort to increase amount of staff or improve  workplace mood, morale, and incentive. The staff are tired and often frustrated, and often times serious safety and respect issues are overlooked by management in favour of keeping an ‘ideal’ labor to cost ratio. Maintenance on trucks and warehouse equipment is almost nonexistent. Workers are often guilted or mistreated if they call sick too frequently, which is unpredictably deemed at the whim and mercy of management. This, of course, did not subside during the pandemic. For a short term employee, they pay is better than a fast food joint, and there’s mediocre health benefits if that’s all you’re looking for. But, you’ll definitely be needing to use them. 

If you are looking to work for a company pretends that they care about there employees look no further. There  are numerous issues with ATS ranging from being overworked to having no support from management. I worked for ATS for 2 years and at the beginning it was great good hours and decent pay but soon that changed. The company has expanded to quickly and refuses to hire the correct amount of staff to accommodate that growth. I was working 6 days a week for almost a year and a half and was averaging 10-20 hours a week. Managment seems incapable of understanding how time frames work. They would overload trucks daily and have to lie to customers about why the driver is unable to pick up from them that day. They over promise to all of there customers and do not explane to them properly how there shipping system works.

You're sure of job security because it's a busy place. Covid created a lot of sales opportunities for this company. You get to learn a lot delivering vaccines and narcotics all in a time constraint window of time. Management is fairly competent with the little manpower they can manage to keep. A lot of people quit in the warehouse dept. which created extra work for the drivers. They do pay the hours you work with decent benefits and ....always a little extra like Pizza once a month, pay $175 yearly for boots, bonus a extra few hundred dollars every 3 months. But it is a back breaking job, often management needs to pitch in because of labor shortage. Still it's a mid range pay but there is a lot worse out there. Some bigger logistic companies have time consuming rules that this sized company doesn't have. Which is a plus. Full pay after deductions was really good compared to any government or union paying job.


Worked there twice 1st time got laid of after 6 months,, apparently company split in two.Was very busy at that time.
2nd time experience was cooler because it was way quieter.pulled 30 hrs per week.In the end it was way to quiet to keep me there.They have there core guys,, They encourage me to do more but I didn't feel comfortable taking work from other more experienced workers. And when I did I just screwed up,, So I just did unloading weighing stock, placement and cleaning and worked on production lines pallet building and transfers..It was enough for me but not enough for them.
Got laid off for the second time, after 6 months again.

Worked for A.T.S. for over 5yrs in Edmonton it was A Great environment for the most part. Employees were all friendly and easy to work with. Equipment was in good shape warehouse was kept clean and it was managed and maintained well
Management in Edmonton was good but some issues like favouritism and not listening to anyone's opinion or suggestions.. need to be more proactive as well
It was the regional or District manager in Calgary that is the true clog in the wheel. The atmosphere in Edmonton definitely changed when he was here. He was almost approachable and not a pleasant person.Very hard to communicate with. He was critical of everything and everyone.
The upper management is awesome they all seem to care and wanted feedback. Took time and made yearly visits with updates and direction the company was heading.

Loading and unloading of medical supplies and medications among other things to pharmacies, medical clinics, vet clinics ,grocery stores and also residential. Driving around  3100km in all types of weather and we're told we had to go even though sometimes conditions were unsafe and terrible. Didn't learn much besides customer service , hardest part was driving in terrible winter conditions and staying awake on long drives. Workplace culture is toxic and management doesn't care about anyone but their select favorites. Most enjoyable part was meeting the people on the route and going home at the end of day .

If you want to be in this company then make a habit of getting insulted with harsh and weived behaviors of Managers who will treat you not more than garbage as they pay you good. It doesn't matter whether its at Saskatoon or Toronto Head Office all managers are same, as that's their working culture. Job is highly insecure. Management is really really too poor and it doesn't matter how good you perform your duties and how good you behave with them. Salary is good (May be this is the reason they treat drivers like asss holee). Work is too stressful and its 10 hours a day at fast pace. They don't know how to take interviews and I felt confronted during the interview.

A typical day of work for me starting to prepare driver routes and stage freight. If I was on a route that day I would be doing a pre-trip inspection on my truck, start the re-fer unit, break down my freight and sort it then load my truck. if I was in the warehouse I'd be cleaning most of the day and loading and unloading trailers with the shipper/receiver. For me, the hardest part of the job was the most of the drivers were extremely stubborn which my made job easier. what they didn't want to do gave me more opportunities to make more mone.

Nice working environment, fast paced, i just felt i was under paid considering the workloads/responsibilties that's why i resigned.
They would rather pay high to labor agency instead of hiring regular workers.
Salary adjustment is not that good even if your annual evaluation is exemplary.

Disgusting place. Berated by lead hand and management any time I didn't perform perfectly. Half the staff do not show up, too much work is dumped on staff, the guys that show up get blamed for lack of productivity.  Half the staff that don't show up were indulging in substance abuse, total old boys club. Older employees get away with murder, the new guys working hard get treated like dirt. I lasted 60 days. I also got hit by an idiot wrecklesdly on iOS forklift  on my first day and the idiot that did it got away with it. Stay away from this hole in the earth.
