AXIOM

Axiom is a good place to grow - for many people. I started with Axiom in 2015, and I have worked in both the office and multiple project sites. The management team at Axiom went through changes between 2016-2017 but has really evolved into a positive and supportive team. Like all of our employees, I was given the opportunity to grow and develop my skills within the company. Axiom has a great education and training reimbursement program and prizes skills relevant to the industry, career, and health & safety. As well, Axiom provides great opportunities for face time and development with Axiom’s senior management and executive teams.

Axiom's employees work hard, and the management team supports them. Typically, hours worked range from 6 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday with optional overtime. The office staff tend to get some flexibility as they can also work remotely - which is a benefit to anyone. There can also be travel related to work. 

Axiom has a workplace culture that celebrates successes and tries to learn the most from other experiences. To show gratitude for employees during work hours Axiom has pizza parties for project milestones achieved, as well as donuts and coffee during weekend work. Around holidays, Axiom gives BBQ's to thank employees for their contributions. There are annual holiday parties run by Axiom for its employees and their spouses/family. 

The hardest part of the job is that we are undergoing significant growth and change, which is also a benefit. For many people, this can be stressful, for others a chance to grow. Working at a growing company like Axiom means you’ll have plenty of exposure to challenging assignments. Businesses can’t move into new product lines, services, territories, or markets without talented people to help lead the charge. Often, the first place Axiom looks for talented professionals is internally amongst the many people who have grown or are growing with the company. Axiom also hires many new people to try to achieve its objectives, which can cause confusion from a workplace culture perspective as new employees tend to take the baggage of their previous employer with them for the first few weeks. Part of the fast growth at Axiom has resulted in many people not having just “one” job, but most of the team has embraced this as a cultural challenge wherein everyone wants to help where they can. We support each other and push ourselves to constantly improve with aggressive goals and transparent communication about our progress.

This is the BEST Millwrighting Company that I have ever worked for. There are no secrets here. All Axiom expects from you is to show up every day, on time and put in a honest days work, for a honest days pay...it is really that simple.
The Foreman in the field along with the Foreman in the Fab Shop always take time to listen to their workers, they are always in  constant dialogue, they are always mentoring and tutoring giving their Apprentices the confidence they need to be successful.
The Management Team and the Foreman are always in constant conservation looking for their next Foreman.
A workers who show up every day, on time, who is ready to work with a good work ethic/attitude will always be first in line for a promotion....always.

-  Typical day in the office is busy, fun, and full of learning.
- I have learned the most here then at any other job i have held.
- Management has been great. Always growing and striving to be better.
- Workplace culture is mixed with the departments I personal deal with However, overall friendly and accommodating.
- Hardest part of the job is dealing with a lot of different personalities all the time but its a fun challenger to better myself as well.
- The best parts of my job are the team I work with is absolutely amazing and the amount of learning and advancement that Axiom provides.

There isn’t any communication between departments, all purchases are approved by purchasing but very hard to get it done in a timely manner as the purchaser is never available, doesn’t answer emails. The large purchases have to be approved by the CEO and again there isn’t a chance to contact him. The CEO has one person that he talks to and then messages are relayed to the rest of the staff, management is so messed up between the respective divisions that nobody knows what’s going on which creates issues with getting the projects that have been assigned to you completed.

Save your time and money driving all over hells half acre in your own vehicle. Minimum reimbursement for fuel if any. HR is a joke and you would be lucky if they pick up the phone. Disbatch is also an unorganized mess, you dont know where you will be going the next day until 9 that night sometimes. If you dont work weekends they will punish you and not give you work for the week. If you are an apprentice, save your time and go somethere where you will learn something and be treated better than a piece of livestock.

Poor training, no leadership whatsoever, full-on bullying.  Simply some half decent last-ditch employment for people who cant find better mechanic jobs.  Young people need to stay away.  This is not where you're going to learn to be a solid Millwright. You want to get into this trade, keep digging and you'll find much better teachers.  These guys will turn you into a hack and you'll be laughed at wherever you go.

They will promise to hire you for full time, but you will work  oly two -three day a week. Most of time you have to work far away from home,use you own car, get  stuck in traffic. Company reimbursement for gas is very mall ,is added to your income and taxable.Benefits are very small, hourly  rate is not competitive compared to other similar companies.

Overall, this is a great company to work for with good work life balance and excellent benefits coverage.

They have many good jobs, they are not steady employment even when they claim to have lots of work.  Jobs are various and unpredictable also they will play games with your livelyhood (ex. if you turn down overtime once, expect them to treat you like you don't want work anymore)
