I work as a Material Operator in the Assembly line for 12 hours shift per day.  I have been with the company for 10 years and having an experience working in a diversified company has taught me to be flexible and efficient.  My co-workers come from different countries and I learned about their cultures and characteristic.  I has taught me to be considerate at all times and careful about everyone's feelings.
The hardest part of my job is the daily challenges where we as a team have to meet our daily production target under extreme circumstances that involves delivery from different departments in the company, however a good communication always plays an important role to be able to meet the demands.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Bad place to work. The culture in their is bad. Management is even worse. you are treated poorly and they don't promote from within unless you are in favored with your team leader. The pay is not worth the treatment you receive there.  I would not recommend this company to anyone.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
dealing with the team leaders, they are insensitive and show lack of respect

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
very poor. The team leaders treat you like your worthless and the older employees are just as bad.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
i do the same thing over and over everyday they refuse to train you on other things.

Productive and diversified workplace  with opportunity to further your career.  The management encourage employees to further their career by upgrading themselves in any career path they choose and fund them. There are many learning opportunities.  

During my career with Abbott I had made lifelong friends.  It was fun to work with them and they were there to help you out when you need them.  We worked long hours if not for the friendly outgoing  people it would have been a difficult task to do.

We had group event organized by the team outside of work.  Such as soccer groups, walking groups etc.

I directed a team to optimize and perform quality control, as well as root-cause analysis in order to reduce faults on the manufacturing of medical cartridges. I used statistical process control methods and trend analysis along with physical examination of the manufacturing process to reduce placement errors of certain components of the medical cartridge by up to 25%. Thereafter I initiated the development of a “health system” for the assembly process of the cartridges to automatically determine issues using CPK capability. As a part of another task I designed a detailed Gantt chart on excel and on MS-Project to track future and current projects at Abbott.

Can be really great place to work but has changed and there work/life balance has only gotten worse as the demands for more productivity has only increased. The atmosphere of never reaching the goals set out by management has been a source of contention and negativity with the associates/departments trying to meet them.
Some management is ok, but overall there seems to be a disconnect or a lack of knowledge with management and the production flow on the floor which can be seen in there continued missed goals.
Prepare for a lot of "your doing good... but we missed out on all this or that costing us money etc", speeches.

Stable environment and good knowledgeable to work with.

People working there for many years, but kind of dated it and not very following the technology. 

Management needs to improve the environment, focus on how to train and upgrade infrastructure and  how to keep our employees up to date with technology. 

Very stable work place to stick with, friendly people and very helpful.

Company offers a lot of training and educational opportunities for employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You feel disconnected from management decisions, and company is so  large as to feel that you dissapear in a small bubble..Your  talent and passion can go unnoticed, every group is monitoring their metrics closely as to suffocate innovation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Closed off in different bubbles.

This location only hires temps now and expects them to stick around for five years or more before gaining any for of benefits, time off, or basic dignities. It's a two-tier system where beady-eyed little managers try to pit shift workers against each other to promote competition between the shifts rather than cooperation across departments.

It's a cesspool of drama and gossip, nothing is ever good enough for a raise, time off, or promotion. But they'll give you a coupon for free ice cream once a year.

Gave little room for improvement, no opportunity for pay raises except for after years, even then it's like 40 cent raises, no job security, they fired us when they had a bad quarter. Always disorganized and lacking communication. Hours are tough the work is boring, we're not allowed to talk at all. With no music and loud machines in 12 hour night shifts I was slowly going insane, being laid off was the greatest thing to happen in my life

They hire on contract basis. They show you big picture but you will end up doing repetitive general labor work in clean room environment. If you got lucky you will become machine operator after 6-8 months. Yo will pay very lower wage in compare to permanent employee and no benefits. It's no brainer work place. Please stay away because after spending more time your skills, creativity and confidence die and you will not get goo job on this.
