Working at ChildVentures, there is never a dull moment. We are always engaging the children in creative thinking, inquiry play, and noting each child's milestones. We go to Specialty Rooms which are rooms that are not held within our normal classroom (i.e.Gym, Drama, Music) for new scenery for the children and more accessible materials. We specialize in three different philosophies: Montessori, High Scope, and Core Knowledge. With these three philosophies, children grow and develop into well rounded young people. 
The hardest part of the job is learning the philosophies while still doing it "The CV way". However, once you get the hang of it, it becomes routine. 
The workplace culture is generally positive, but only if you really get along with co-workers. It does have the aire of negativity and it is always noticed if you don't uphold your responsibilities. Typically, the day starts off in an opening room, moves to your regular classroom where there is 1 hour of curriculum, then a half hour of specialty rooms, then return for morning snack in your own classroom. Following that, we transition outside, then either switch classrooms and return to the Teacher's home room for lunch. Nap follows lunch, but for the JK/SK kids, they return outdoors immiediately after. After Nap, snack is had for the infants to preschoolers, but the JK/SK go to a different specialty room at this time. Then infants/toddlers/preschoolers have outdoor time or specialty time (classroom depending) while JK/SK has their classroom and snack time at the end of the day.

Childventures is a very unique and different company. I love working there. There is tremendous support in place with the role of Directors , Program Directors and program supports/ centre supports. Programming for your classroom is built within your shift. There is no lack of resources or materials for the children. There is a cleaning company so you don't have to stay back to clean, there is a onsite Chef so the meals are nutritious. The use of technology into the classroom makes life as an ECE alot easier and Parents are highly connected. There is also room for advancement  if you are looking for any. I started off as an classroom assistant and now I am a Program Director. This is also one of the few childcare centres that your own children can attend and there is also a discount for their tuition.
What I love most about this company is the curriculum models. When our children leave our care for Grade one they are well set on their way to success. 

- CV claims to be inclusive but they're not. They will not hire EA's for children or offer PD for their staff to learn about safety or strategies for children with exceptionalities. They will accept a child as long as the tuition is paid.
- The pay is ridiculous for the amount of work we do. Responsibilities are not limited to: serving breakfast/lunch/snack, transition to various rooms/outside, teaching the curriculum, circle time, cleaning the classroom (takes up most of the day - cleaning has to meet a certain standard), interacting with parents, building relationships with the children, working with room partner, planning for learning expectations and subjects, toileting.
- Your qualifications are irrelevant. Someone with less experience than you could be paid more or someone with more education than you could be paid less. 

Started off as a great strong powerful business. Overtime to much management and leaders growth and has now become to corporate. Your voice is not heard. Specialized leaders and close friends or family only grow within. Opportunities to advance are not given fairly. Teachers do a lot of work as well as work overtime as there is no staff to cover you. 
Poor support from management. More appreciation from the co-workers and parents then the management team. 
Childventures is worried to fix what is broken in their current centers yet move on to build more centres where more money can be made rather then fixing older centers.
Change needs to be made in the business.

You will enjoy working there as your room partners are mostly wonderful and the families appreciate you a lot. Creating wonderful smiles is easy. But need more from the business before burnout kicks in.

Child Ventures, Infant room was a lovely, warm and welcoming work environment. staff were always welcoming and parents were able to watch their childs and staff interactions via webcam. This provided families with a closer view of day to day progress as well as attachment with staff members. 
The most enjoyable part of this job wwas seeing the growth and development of the infants within a short time span, being able to be apart of first moments,and experiences was very touching. The one on ine attachment with each child and the smiles, laughs and sweet moment shared are priceless. Working with infants, the challenges included meal times and learning how to adapt to each child's unique needs, and being ready to act on the spot, to calm a child down, having bottles ready and so on. Overall a life skill that one can use with younger family members, and my own family in the future.

First and foremost, the management at CV is abysmal. There's a blatant disregard for employee well-being, with decisions made solely to benefit the higher-ups while disregarding the concerns and needs of those actually doing the work. Communication is practically non-existent, leaving employees feeling isolated and undervalued.

The work culture is toxic, to say the least. There's a pervasive sense of negativity and hostility, fostered by unchecked favoritism and cliques within the team. It's a place where sucking up to the right people matters more than actual competence or hard work.

Furthermore, the lack of opportunities for growth and advancement is glaring. Despite promises of career development, employees are often stuck in the same position for years, with no clear path for progression. It's demoralizing to see your efforts go unrecognized and unrewarded.

Childventures is a supportive work environment with a big focus on learning and growth. The Professional Development Days that are hosted for their employees are a highlight - it's a fun opportunity to come together for celebration and recognition of employees and get to see different guest speakers. Teamwork is highly valued which creates a collaborative and positive atmosphere. 

The pay is fair and the benefits offered to employees are good. 

They've grown a lot over the past few years but you can see there is a commitment to improve processes and create efficiencies.  Overall, it’s a great place for those who are passionate about early childhood education and working for a "feel good" organization.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Its a huge workplace where you can take a group of children of your ratio and work with them independently. Environment is great and helpful. Have variety of classroom and materials to use. They have special EIs visits for special needs kids for inclusive learning.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You have to remember the names of all classes of your age group because they switch children into different classes to give them exposure to a big group.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awesome and they have Professional development classes for their teachers.

They just hire anyone. They don’t care for quality of their teaching staff. They don’t care that you have a life outside your home. I left after a month and before that it took a month before I even got a call. I wasn’t waiting for them I did do other interviews but covid hit and I needed something. It was the worst place to work for. Not worth the headache. Save yourself the time and effort and your mentality don’t work for these people. They will work you to the bone and they don’t care. Expect you to do your work at home and they don’t give you any planning time. They don’t even have enough supply teachers to cover. Also to even use the bathroom was a pain. I had to hold it for over 4 hrs before someone came.
