This company is the right fit for me. I work hard, I'm motivated to go the extra mile for the company and guests, and I make sure I have fun. It helps when I like my job, co-workers and management. I perform set procedures and daily tasks with some variety, and learning something new. And I meet guests from all over the world. 

Management is awesome because they make me feel valued as I can be myself. They allow me to feel alive while I share fun with others. I feel empowered when I take pride in my work and make everything better.  I feel that I belong here because we have each other's back. Job security comes with doing your job well.  As a small company, advancement within the company is limited, but not impossible. Pay is average for the job in this area. Management keeps us updated on internal changes and hotel improvements through staff meetings. Management has a welcoming vibe.

Even though I work reduced hours off season at Accent Inns, with flex hours I have choices if I want to take a vacation or be a tourist in my own town. I can keep active outdoors, pursue a hobby, choose to upgrade my skills or education, or even get a compatible side hustle. Good work/life balance with Accent Inns.

Management is supportive and provides growth opportunities. Colleagues are collaborative and easy to work with, and the company offers good benefits and a positive working environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
So far, the most stressful part has been dealing with a few demanding co-workers, but I consider this a normal part of working in any company.

The work environment is friendly and supportive. Management is approachable, and coworkers are easy to work with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves assisting guests at the front desk, handling check-ins and check-outs, answering inquiries, and supporting housekeeping when needed.

I've been with Accent Inns for nearly ten years, and I've grown to love this place. Accent Inn is a quirky, fun loving hotel with hilarious signage and free ducks in every room- but the fun goes beyond our presentation to the guests. Employees here are encouraged to be real, rock their own personal style, and have fun at work! The hospitality industry can be fast- paced and stressful during the busier months, but Accent Inn employees are great at working as a team to get the job done, and the managers are approachable, encouraging, and committed to helping in whatever way they can. The company offers flexible hours and awesome benefits, along with small perks like a monthly staff lunch and rewards when we beat our revenue objectives. I would highly recommend working here to anyone who is motivated to work hard but also wants to have fun!

Since Accent Inns isn't a big, worldwide chain it gives the owner, CEO and management team a chance to actually get to know their staff and therefore they care about them. They come from "Rebel Base" (Victoria) every couple of months to see how everything is going with the property and to touch base on any issues or concerns. They offer a medical plan, monthly target bonuses for every staff member, a yearly holiday party, a summer staff boat cruise (with the sister property Hotel Zed) and weekly treat days. Hours are flexible and they will do what they can if you need certain days off for school, childcare, etc. Wage is competitive and reflective with other hotel jobs in the area with a three month review. I see myself working happily with them for a long time.

I worked for accent inns for about 5 years it started of great they had me working a schedule where I wanted Monday thru Friday and that was amazing. Every now and agiain management made the team breakfast and that was a great way to start the day. My hours where great but slowly the job started to go down. The environment in laundry was constantly negative, the houseperson didn't have help so he wasn't able to do his job in the right way, management are wonderful folks but communication is not there strong point sadly. The hotel used to have 24 hour security as in the area there located in town is not the best but they stopped using 24 hour security unfortunately, they cut my hours without proper notice. 

The job itself is an amazing position to work and the company has great benefits, but not enough to suggest anyone work here. 

My experience at the Burnaby location was beyond poor and I left after only a month. Within that month I had multiple inappropriate comments made to me by management  including comments body shaming me. 
 
As for the scheduling there’s no consideration. I was hired for a night time role, was then told I’d be working days instead with no one questioning how that would affect my routine. My start time would change depending on the day which was frustrating to say the least. 

The only pros I truly had working here were the guests and the housekeeping staff. Besides that, this company seemed very cliquey and made for an uncomfortable experience. 

Such a great team to work with at Accent, everyone here really goes out of their way to make you feel at home and everyone is an essential part of the team. As a part of the team you can really see how everyone is involved from the CEO Mandy to the General Managers, and all of our amazing housekeepers and front desk agents really work together to deliver an incredible guest experience. Everyone here likes to have fun and it shows in how we take care of our guests! It is a great work environment and is a place I look forward to coming back to each and every day. Coming into work with all the smiling faces of all the staff is such a great feeling!

After working at Accent Inns for 2 years it is safe to call this place my second home. From the people I work with directly everyday to people across the company I may have only met once, they all embrace the same attitude of positivity and forward thinking, making it easy to do the same. I love that I can be myself and have fun while still learning to grow daily from such a huge support system. Everyone genuinely wants you succeed and you are given the resources and tools to do so. If you are looking for a company with an amazing culture and opportunities to grow, this is the one. 

The management is very communicative, the company itself is unlike any other where they actually value their employee's and care about them personally. I've never worked for a company that is so good. They work with your schedule, whether your a student or a mother, if there is a sickness in your family, you are sick anything they do all to help accommodate you so that you may keep your job. Great benefits as well. Truly a great company to work for, we are like a family. The motto is be real, have each others backs, have fun and make everything better for the next person.
