I joined this company with high hopes, but my experience over the past few years has been quite different from what I initially anticipated. In a class of 35 people, only two of us remain after a year, which speaks volumes about the high turnover rate here. Here are some key points to consider:

1. High Turnover and Discrepancy in Job Description
The high turnover rate in the company is quite concerning. Colleagues come and go frequently, which can be disorienting. Additionally, the job I initially signed up for was different from what was advertised. Instead of the promised role, I found myself working in an outbound call center.

2. Compensation Reduction and Stressful Environment
The compensation structure has changed significantly during my tenure. Initially, we received bonuses of approximately $4,000 per quarter from 2020 to 2022. However, this was reduced to just a few hundred dollars per quarter. This sudden drop in compensation was a source of frustration for many. The work environment can also be extremely stressful, with some managers resorting to heavy-handed micromanagement. It's evident that a toxic culture permeates from the top down.

3. Limited Growth Opportunities
While there are growth opportunities within the company, they don't always seem to be based on merit. This can be disheartening for those who work hard and strive for professional development.

4. Inadequate Training and Lack of Support
The training provided to employees is subpar, especially concerning the tools we are expected to use. This leads to widespread stress and poor service delivery to clients. Furthermore, employee support is lacking. Simple inquiries may be met with ridicule, and there is virtually no support in the event of a difficult situation or if an employee faces abuse from clients.

5. Repetitive and Ineffective Job Role
The nature of the role itself can be demoralizing. Agents are assigned a fixed list of 150 organizations to contact, with minimal changes. This often results in repeated calls to the same contacts, which can feel like harassment. Only a fraction of these interactions are genuinely productive, leaving the majority as repetitive spam calls and emails.

6. Communication Issues
Communication between teams and management is poor, leading to constant changes and uncertainty. Decisions often appear to be reversible, making it difficult to establish clear directions and objectives.

7. Delayed Bonuses
The company's practice of paying bonuses several months late is a significant issue. This delay can be demotivating and affects employees' commitment, especially as the bonus is forfeited if an employee leaves the company.

Advice to Management
I urge the management to consider the following:

Listen to Employees: Recognize the high turnover rate as a concerning issue. Employees are stressed, and addressing their concerns is essential for improving both the work environment and client satisfaction.

Re-evaluate Expectations: The repetitive nature of the job, where agents continuously call the same organizations and contacts, should be reconsidered. This approach is counterproductive and can lead to burnout.

In conclusion, while there are aspects of this company that require significant improvement, there is also potential for positive change. Acknowledging and addressing the issues raised by employees can lead to a more productive and satisfying work environment for all.

Pros

If you join as a new joiner, it is high possibility, you are trained to work on specific technology, as per the needs of the projects. For new joiners, Accenture has an approximate 2.5 months of Greenfield training. Earlier it used to be a good base for new joiners. Not sure how it works now. But it definitely needs to be upgraded.
The working culture is much better than other service based industries in India. (That’s my experience overall)
The leave policies (medical, vacation, for mothers as well) is pretty good.
You would not be sitting ideal for too long for sure, so if you like being occupied, given work, this is a good place.
During appraisal, you generally get a decent hike (not for people finishing in lowest grade!)
There are people here staying for long tenures of their careers 7–10–12 years. If you are in a comfort zone, you will stay as long as there is a strong reason to switch over.
If you are in a good project, the learning will always be there. It also depends on the attitude of the employee.
Cons

Being a service industry, the working hours are sometimes very tedious. 9 hrs of work and add to that the travel time.
The bell-curve has been removed officially. But internally it still exists (Thats what i feel, because otherwise there is no way to rate a person’s performance. Comparison between employees is the only way to rate a person higher or lower based on their performances.) This makes it inevitable for an employee to have a good rapport with your seniors.
Being a service industry, if you are hard core developer, you will not always land up in a proper development role (from scratch). It depends on your luck! At times you might be in support, maintenance projects as well.
In case you want to switch streams or roles, for e.g, switch from being a developer to a tester or from Java to SAP, it might be difficult. It is subject to internal dynamics of the organization.
If you are in this place for a long time, it may be possible, your financial growth would be stagnant. That depends on how the employee perceives it.

•	Involved in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in developing the application.
•	Created UML diagrams like Case Diagrams and used them in developing and testing the application.    
•	Involved in designing user forms, web pages, interfaces using HTML, CSS, XHTML, Web server  Controls.
•	Performed client-side and server-side form validations using JavaScript and ASP.NET validation controls respectively.
•	Extensively used ADO.NET objects like SQL command object, data reader object, dataset object, data adaptor object for developing data access layer for the application.
•	Involved in Database Design on SQL Server 2008 and responsible for writing Stored Procedures, User Defined functions, Views and Triggers using T-SQL.
•	Involved in writing complex SQL Queries and provided SQL Scripts for the Configuration Data which is used by the application.
•	Extensively involved in coding of Business Logic component using C#.NET
•	Involved in understanding the Business Rules for Driver Record and Issuance Verification Solution (DRIVS) and implementing and integrating with existing modules in the application.
•	Involved in enhancing and implementing new rules into the business logic using C#.
•	Performed the move process for moving the application to various environments QA, UAT, Staging and Production.
•	Supported the already implemented Dealer Licensing Registration Solution (DLRS).
•	Implemented new Business Rules and change requests in the DRIVS module.
•	Analyzed the existing module and fixed the bugs reported by the client.
•	Actively involved in writing technical specifications and documentation of the project.

I was actually contracted to work for Accenture, even though I applied for both the contract position and the one directly through Accenture. For those who don't know, this is a tactic Accenture uses to drum up more applications (since they show up under a different company name) and avoid having to pay out benefits or adhere to labour laws set out for a regular employee. I know this information is publicly available, because I asked about it before I signed my contract, and they told me. You can be terminated with no notice, they do not have to pay a minimum three hours if you go home sick, andat the end of the contract, they don't have to take you on as permanent if they decide to keep you. They can EXTEND your contract for up to another six months, meaning six more months of grinding to meet the stats and fearing for your job (they drop people like crazy) and six more months of no benefits or job security. 

What they did to me and other contracted workers though is even worse. It was still several weeks before our set contract end date, and we still hadn't received notice as to whether we'd be extended. Instead, Accenture waited until my day off to contact our contractor, tell them our contract was ended effective immediately, and that we were not permitted to call or even visit the office for our belongings. I live ten minutes away and they mailed me my things. 

As far as actual work life at Accenture, it was actually better than most contact centers. The management was great. Very supportive, encouraging etc. But that support and encouragement came at a high cost, so I'm leaving this review so others will be able to decide whether that's a price they'd like to pay.

Throughout my time at Accenture (just under a year) I was constantly and proactively told I would earn more, become full-time, have access to benefits,  work within a business hours timeframe/schedule, etc.

I shifted to a new client/line or work internally as this was suggested to accelerate the above promises. I signed a new contract which at the time was presented as a full-time offer which was to become active in 6 months. This entailed benefits, a salary, PTO, the whole nine yards. This happened in September 2021. 

Let’s fast forward to March 2022. 

I’m told I am not to receive benefits as I’m an “on-call” employee, the full-time offer was really a contract extension that was misconstrued intentionally by management, the raise directly promised to me by a senior manager was no longer possible, my schedule had became even farther outside the bounds of standard business hours, etc. 

I am not exaggerating when I say that 100% of promises made to myself went unfulfilled.

On top of this, middle management is disconnected and routinely sets bizarre goals (e.g. we were expected to handle 5 cases per hour, however, our inflow of work had slowed down due to over-hiring and general improvements in efficiency. This led to less than 5 cases being handled per hour. Management’s solution to this was increase our expected cases per hour to 7 despite or workload being the same as when 5 was too high of a target).

HR operates out of a different continent and is frequently unfamiliar with local regulations, documents, etc. This is all in addition to high turnover and little room to advance.

The work itself is a normal call center type environment for those just starting out (unless specifically signed up to do another type of position). The managers for the most part are decent, just don't get involved in the office politics. Do not fall for any sort of "Advancement can happen quickly" or "I started in your position and was moved up in only a couple months". The ONLY way this will ever happen, is if you happen to know someone there that is already higher up.

I made my intentions known when I first got hired, that I had 0 intention of staying in my current position. I wanted to move up. I worked hard, took overtime, tried to prove my worth that I was a good fit to promote. I thought I had my chance when they wanted me to help with fixing up their internal information database, but it was just extra work I was not compensated for, and no appreciation was given for the work that I did do on it. I regularly made my intentions known that I wanted to move to a trainers position or even just move up to the next level, and I was chosen to do the next level, but only to fill gaps when people were sick or what not, never given the real opportunity.

If you get stuck with a manager who doesn't care about their job, you will not go anywhere. Even if you befriend other managers, they won't do anything for you. Again, the job itself if you are okay working it, is alright. But if you have dreams of moving up in a company, look elsewhere. You will only be disappointed unless you are lucky.

Accenture treats their employees well until they don't. They purposely keep extending your contract with the excuse that they want to see that you can continue at the level you currently are. They do that until you reach the point where they have to legally give you benefits. When that day comes: without warning, they'll stop you at your computer, ask you come to the conference room for a meeting, walk you there, sit you down and tell you your contract has finished and to sign the dotted line. No explanation. You can't go back to your desk to gather your bag. They will escort you out of the building. They did this to my whole team. They FLY SOMEONE IN TO FIRE EVERYONE. Rinse and repeat. And if you were brought in by a third party agency they'll drop you at the turn of a dime. Not just you, but your whole team.
It's cheaper for the company to hire and train all new people every 6-11 months than to pay those employees health benefits. I know an employee who had the top stats on the floor and she only lasted 3 months before they terminated her contract. (They had stopped working with the agency that they had hired her through.) She was always on time and was very good at what she did. She brought good service to the company, but they didn't care.
If you do decide to put yourself through the intense hiring process, do yourself a favor and only stay for the 4 weeks of full-time paid training until you can find something better. It's not worth putting your time and energy into the company just to be kicked to the curb when paying for your medical bills doesn't interest them.

This is an inbound call centre with high volumes of calls. Types of calls vary but customers are usually upset about their bills or smart meters.Lots of collection calls and making payment arrangments with customers as well.

Typical day would involve sitting at a desk at least 96% of the day. This is tracked and if your not meeting this metric you get "coached" 
The length of your call is tracked. Calls must be within a certain acceptable call length & if you dont meet this metric your "coached"
Customers can be rushed off the phone by an agent to meet this metric which is not good customer service. Some metrics can be very difficult to maintain.
Some of your calls are recorded and scored. This is also a metric.
There is verbatim scripting and you can get scored down on this metric for not using the exact words.This position is highly micromanaged and if you dont meet the metrics your shown the door.
This position leaves very little room for creativity and individuality.
If call volumes are low, they may send you home without notice. 
 
Unless your one of the top performers, there is vey little choice as to what shift you work. You are hired as a "casual" with very little chance of becoming a permanent employee, so no benefits.
The other staff members are very friendly as well as the coaches, but the only thing management cares about is the numbers.

Nothing you do will be good enough. You will be a number not a person. If you want to value your work and yourself, do yourself a favour and don't work here. All they want is a machine who has no life other than to come to work and answer every call you can but do not take long. Make sure you code. Make sure you smile when the customer treats you like garbage. Make sure you don't need a drink or a stretch or a bathroom break too often. Make sure you have used every single word they tell you to in the order they want or you won't pass quality. Don't like it? Too bad. They'll just hire a bunch more people until they get the monkeys they want. Oh, and the "great new building" they have in downtown Vancouver.. it's a converted parking garage with no light and horrible ventilation. The dust and smells in there are horrendous.. but don't complain!!! You will have a target on your back. They don't like when someone has a brain of their own, or questions when something isn't right or calls them on how needlessly stressful the job is, or is treated like garbage. Sad that the "hot chocholate" they say they offer is the best part of working there. I sure hope BC Hydro knows who they outsourced their business to.
