This is a horrible place to work at. I will tell you why for so many reasons. They use their workers when they need you they will call you and when they do not need you they will give you a bunch of excuses which are all untrue and irrelevant to your ability to conduct the work. For example they will send you home because your productivity is low but in reality they just over booked people and it has nothing to do with your productivity. You are not valued as a worker in any way because you can be easily replaced and you will see that since they are constantly training people.

You will have supervisors that are so rude I can name a few but if you have worked there then you already know the girl that wears those gloves on her hands, has no respect for anyone and has no idea on how to actually be professional and talk to people in a professional manner. 90% of the supervisors have no clue how to smile and say hi to the workers.... why? I don't know seems like they need to learn to be a little more social.

Another supervisor that is constantly yelling over the intercom while you are on the phone conducting surveys with the people. UNPROFESSIONAL and the people that have been working there for more than 4 years have already pointed these things that need to be fixed and no one has even bother to change their attitude.

They will lie to you over and over again about getting new projects for you to work on because they don't want you to quit and go find another job.

When they train you, it's not paid for unless you work 15 hours within the first two weeks. Forget it they are not giving you the 15 hours

They constantly mess up your timetable as to when you clocked in and out because again unprofessional company that  hires irresponsible people (which ironically most of the monitors/supervisors are girls and are complete airheads). 

Honestly stay away from this company they need to learn if you treat people they way they do then you don't deserve to have people work for you. They are also shady very shady and I bet you if a lawyer worked there for a day he would find all the loopholes they are finding in the law to run this company. I am just amazed CMHC, CBC, Ministry of education, hydro, or TTC gives these people projects for them to run. If only these companies knew how bad they treat their employees perhaps they would reconsider.

Don't be fooled by the 'flexible' schedule you will only work there for a month or so before they will just stop giving you work or you will just become seasonal they will call you whenever they feel like too many people quit on them.

Oh and you don't get direct deposit. So 5 business days after the pay period has ended you have to go into the office personally for you to pick up your pay-cheque and stand in a long line up, because you know you have nothing better to do.

This job is a good job for students trying to balance studies and life, also for others who want to make extra cash after having a full time job. Work is mostly in the evening. You have a lot of flexibility to book your own shifts as well as cancel it before the 24 hours policy. It is a call centre so work is dependent on the volume of work available, hence there are times when shifts are cancelled, but this is told to you during your training and they also tell you to be prepared for it and not be disappointed when it happens. It is a fast pace environment, for your shift you are taking calls the entire duration (which is exactly what you were hired to do). The break rules follows Ontario laws, 15 mins optional break if you work for 5 hours, 30 mins mandatory if you work more than 5.25 hours. Breaks are unpaid but not unfair, as management would allow you to take extra breaks if you need it as long as you inform them, which is not a big deal. The supervisors and managers are pretty decent and helpful, they encourage you to speak with them if you have issues or need advice on how to be more productive. Agreed some of the monitors were really nasty and mean, thank god they are no longer working there, don't see them anymore, maybe they got fired, but who cares, they are gone. The hardest part of the job is that it is repetitive and sometimes you talk to really rude and racist respondents which can make you feel low. The most enjoyable part is that you get to meet new people and learn about different cultures. This is a good job to develop communication and time management skills. I like working here because i find it an easy place to work where I can make my own schedule and I've made good friends here and I really like the current supervisors, especially the female evening supervisor. She is full of energy, always ready to listen to you, gives amazing advice, easy to talk to, and she has a forever smile. I've never seen that woman annoyed or not smiling. This is just my opinion she makes the workplace very enjoyable, makes jokes, makes you feel accepted and quiet honestly, I book shifts on the days I know she works just because when I go to work I know I can always expected a ray of sunshine from her. This is one experience I had, one day I went up to ask a question and there was another employee talking with her who was being quite rude and difficult, but while talking with that person I saw that not once did she get annoyed or frustrated, she was patient and answered all of that employee's question and afterwards she still had a smile. That's an example of good management. I'm not going to mention her name, but she works there currently as the evening supervisor.

Job Work/Life Balance:
- Work is simple but repetitive, fast-paced, vocally intensive, and involves being very patient and tolerant of respondents who can either be slow, impatient or rude
- Work is highly productivity-based, and while you get bonuses for reaching above their targets, you will be moved to a different project or have your shift cancelled if you're below the average
- Meeting productivity targets involves luck; there's a chance you will get a bad sample of respondents who will not want to participate despite your best efforts to convince them otherwise, which results in low productivity and being switched around projects or sent home
- Work equipment is largely terrible; most of their computers and the call centre software they use are outdated and are very cumbersome to use, and there isn't enough working headsets for every computer, so you may get stuck holding a landline phone to your ear for the entire shift

Salary/Benefits:
- The only salary/benefits you get are minimum wage and bonuses for reaching above targets
- Breaks are unpaid

Job Security/Advancement:
- Very flexible hours, you can make your own schedule
- Shifts are volatile and can be cancelled before and during shifts, but if your shift is cancelled during work, you're always paid for at least 3 hours
- There are opportunities for advancements and other positions such as floor monitoring, coding, and call centre supervising
- Jobs for other places in the company are frequently posted in-house

Management & Job Culture:
- Supervisors and Monitors are very friendly and understanding, personally had no issues with them
- Mostly independent environment since everyone works on their computers alone

Overall:
The work itself is what you can expect from a call centre job that offers flexible shifts, and the rules and expectations of the workplace are laid out clearly in your contract so you know what you're getting into when you work there. But the terrible work resources, including the slow, buggy call centre software and the computers that chug and ache while running Internet Explorer and nothing else, makes the job a lot more annoying than it needs to be.

So this is how it all starts, you apply, typically get the job, do an online interview where you are asked to read a script and answer some general interview questions (the only asked me 3).  Once you get the job (which you'll pretty much 100% get), you get paid training which is nice, but this is where it all breaks loose. Management is horrible and rude, I will not name any specific people but a lot of them are horrendously rude. There's about 20 monitors/supervisors, only about 2-3 them are actually nice while the rest are just horrible  If you don't get the right amount of completes per project for example 2 completes per hour, they will send you home for being"unproductive" which is pretty rude because not everyone who answers their phone is going to want to participate in a survey. Now this is where I personally lost it, you are paid bi-weekly, but I don't understand why they call it Bi-weekly if technically it's actually every three weeks. You have to wait 5 business days after the pay period, so for example pay period September 1-15 2016, your actually getting paid 5 business days after the 15th, which would be like the 22nd of September, AND you have to pick up a check, so it isn't direct deposit. You gotta drive or take transit all the way to the  workplace to get your check. Lastly, you get notes written down for petty things, walking in 2-3 minutes late "Note!", not getting the right amount of completes? "note!" (for being unproductive) Oh and one last thing, the only thing i liked about this place was you choose your schedule so its not that bad for a first time job. I'd say if your in high school or elderly, well just go for it, but i am done with this company.

forgot to talk about the actual Job haha, typical day a work is you enter, sign in, sit down and read scripts all day calling people. co workers were really nice. Most enjoyable part was leaving the job (after shift and actually quitting) and hardest part was meeting their impossible quotas.

Let me be completely honest. I loved working here when I first started. I loved the commute each day and getting to meet new people. The environment of the workplace is very interactive and the people there are very nice and kind spirited. The job is easy and is mostly just  doing surveys for companies like Telus, canada mortgage, and ontario colleges/universities. Scheduling your own shifts is a plus, However I really hated getting cancelled especially on short notice. There were several times I would leave home and be on my way to work then arrive only to find out I was cancelled, there would also be many occasions where you'd sit at your cubical doing nothing for 10-15mins even some times 20! due to a system error and they would just expect you to sit still and do nothing. There were even times you would get sent home due to system errors. I have to  admit there were many times I fell asleep at my cubical because a 6hr or 8hr shift would just be leaving all voicemails. Overall I think this job is great for young students and busy people because of the select your own schedule option. It would also be great if you want experience in the call centre field because it gives you a lot of interaction with people.

As I begin every shift i would start by signing in with the head supervisor and immediately checking the board to see what project i was assigned. If it is not a project i have already been briefed on I would have to report to a supervisor to immediately be briefed on so i can start my shift right as soon as possible. I would work on the project until project was completed using a script. I have learned how to communicate with people and have them interested in completing the survey. I have also learned that it is all in your tone of voice and how you propose it. The management was professional and laid back. My co-workers were excellent and always friendly and welcoming to all employees. The hardest part of the job was keeping the client patient and interested in completing the survey. The most enjoyable part of the job was always being able to complete numerous surveys and always being on the top of the chart for most surveys completed.

This job is pretty seasonal, you will be lucky to get hours that are apart from their high season. They are also really picky and stringent on punctuality. A minute late and you will be handed an infraction which could be bounds for termination. They also have no stability when it comes to actually cancelling a shift. Once I was already at the destination and received an email for cancellation. The job is also very lonely, its mostly you in a cubicle making phone calls. Its very redundant and tedious task but its good and easy money. Also the hours are very flexible! Probably the best part, logging in and scheduling your own work for the week. A typical day at work is signing in, finding the project you're working on and just making repeated phone calls and trying to earn your daily completes.

I work as a telephone interviewer doing surveys. The company offers flexible hours and you can work whenever you want, but occasionally shifts are cancelled. Pay is minimum wage, and there is a bonus if you do more than a certain number of surveys per hour, but it is very hard to get a significant amount of bonus. It gets frustrating sometimes because most of the people that you call don't want to do the survey. The company will hire pretty much anyone and they are always hiring new employees. The computers and phones at this call centre are old and sometimes break and the building this company is in is run down. There are opportunities to do other work like mystery shopping at this company (Forum Research operates a mystery shopping company called "Service Metrics").

A typical day at work would include singing in on time, get to you work section, settle down and get to work as soon as possible. A typical day at work included conducting research, and data entry. I learned a lot about data entry, how to proper insert data, and how to properly conduct a research. I had the best management staff, they were welcoming, efficient, friendly, enthusiastic, and very caring. My co-workers were always very friendly and open minded. The hardest part of the job was when I got customers who were not very polite, even when you tried to calm them down and explain to them what was going on and they refuse to co-operate. The most enjoyable part of the job was conducting research, I personally did not think much of it before, but when I got my hands on it it was very interesting and getting people engaged to it was enjoyable.

A typical day at work would start by logging in to the assigned project on the board and informing the Monitor if I haven’t worked on it before (I mainly work on Telus as a bilingual interviewer). Everyday I learn to be patient because not all customers answer the phone nicely, I also learn to act neutral and professional. I manage to take constructive criticism from my monitors on how to handle phone calls or the survey itself. As for my co-workers,  we are not allowed to talk or use our phones so it is hard to communicate with others besides the supervisor or a monitor. The hardest part of the job would be to take up challenging surveys that require more effort to keep the customer interested in the survey.The most  enjoyable part of the job would be that I get to schedule my shifts!
