Ace Hardware

I truly enjoy being part of Ace Hardware Philippines Incorporated. I work 9 hours a day 7 days a week from 7:45 in the morning until 4:45 in the afternoon but sometimes I went overtime when needed. It's my daily routine work to consolidate opening and closing cash transactions that whenever discrepancies occurs I immediately resolve it before the day ends. I learned being independent and cross beyond boundaries of what could I possibly do more. It prepares me to a greater possibility of opportunity. When it comes to management, it was very strict to policies. It goes by the book so employees were well disciplined.My co-workers also molded me to become a better person way beyond on what I am before Ace Hardware Philippines. I enjoy playing with numbers so as being treasury assistant it was just easy for me to do the task, but still am looking for greater development were I could exercise more my degree as a financial management graduate in a very innovative establishment as I believe your is.

This is an independently owned store. The owners are great people and their intentions are good. 
Due to some unfortunate management decisions made by the previous management this work environment in chaotic and there is little consistency. The owners are now trying to correct this situation but many of the staff have left. 
The staff here make minimum wage or slightly more and work a lot of physical labour.
This place has potential but needs a lot of restructuring before it would be a place I would recommend to a friend to work at.

The initial work place environment was challenging in that the business was changing from a one franchise chain to a competitors.  The task at hand was primarily to build customer loyalty, complete a store reset, build inventory and migrate existing inventory from one source vendor to multiple suppliers and maintain pricing, inventory and reporting controls.  New staff hd to be hired and trained, vendors secured to facilitate business growth and local area reach outs to assist in the customer sales and business growth.

What is the best part of working at the company?
A company that considered the employee as an asset, a company culture and professional development for the individual, and it's a none stop learning experience,  and allow you grow, and think out the box.

My top 5 
1.Multipletasking several projects with a tight deadlines,
2. Dealing with  complaints
3. Back to back meeting throughout the day, 
4. Performance review
5. Toxic people in the group.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very family oriented, time off as needed, fun place to work, great coworkers, exceptional boss.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Customers can be difficult at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A lot of fun, easy going atmosphere 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Serve customers, keep areas cleaned and organized, handle financial transactions, stock shelves

In grade nine, I had the chance to go and spend one full day at work for school purposes.  I had a wonderful experience and had the chance to experience life on the job.  The co-workers were helpful and my day went by too quickly.  The most enjoyable part of the job was serving customers and having to do different hardware duties and helping clients with different demands.  The hardest part of the job was going back to school...

I enjoyed my time at Ace Hardware, a typical day at work included helping customers, unloading trucks and getting deliveries ready. The management is good and the staff is friendly and easy to get along with. Busy day can be stressful and working in the lumber yard can be physically draining and hard on your body.

I enjoyed a lot the company’s atmosphere and do sales talk to all ki ds of customers, explaining the use and advantage of the products, add some stories until the customer buy that item. All my customers happy, and I don't let them leave the store feel sad whether they buy or not.

Ace Hardware was a small hardware store located in the Goulds. It was run by a member of the Bidgood Family which were the main business people in the Goulds. In my opinion there  was too many chiefs and not enough Indians to work the store.
