The company has a great culture and is one the most safety focused companies i have ever worked for. The work is great and the people with in it are mostly great but like every company there will be that one old school Foreman. They have lots of projects ranging from schools and health care facilities to out of town work with BC hydro and Fortis. However the foreman who runs the out of town work is super specific in what he wants and will talk down to you like your dumb and don't know anything and the out of town work is 3 weeks out of Non stop work with 1 week off. There is plenty of oppertunities for overtime here as well with lots of company events. you can tell there is a massive divide between the office and field staff which is sad to see but normal since this company is owned by Paladin security. If your a 3rd year or higher this is place is for you as they want 3rd years or higher and Foreman ideally.

Management are not honest. every weeks you will move site to site until you fit in with a crew. I've talk to some people that been there 1 year and they say they still get move every week. You get treated like a second class employee until you pass the 3 month probation. You get no uniform until you pass the 3 month probation because they are cheap company. Most company that I work before give out company uniform right away if they provide it. There was sanding at one of the site that I worked at . I had to work while sanding was going on and other employee was not wearing proper respirator. If I said something about it to management I'm sure they will think I'm a complainer and probably just lay me off because I have not been there 3 month. What I find pointless was that they had a 15 min video about silica dust at their orientation but yet it was not enforce.  

I had a great experience here. The people, the types of work and the room for advancement are all excellent. I don’t know who on here would rate this company low, but I’m assuming they just weren’t very good at their job. I would recommend this company to anyone who is serious about wanting to learn and that has integrity to do a good job. If you show you want to work and learn you will have all the support you’ll need. They want to grow people within the company, so if you show promise (be on time, listen carefully, etc) you will have an excellent experience here. The people in charge are excellent and you can tell they have a strong vision to continue to grow and be successful as a whole. 

I was hired as a foreman for Action and had a great working relationship and support from the management staff.  It was a real team effort with ideas and suggestions taken seriously and implemented.  I can't say I've worked for a better company given the level of support and room for growth.  I only left to take a completely different avenue.

Great people to work with.  Management makes safety a priority and listens to and acts on concerns.  New pro master and transit vans, new cordless Milwaukee tools.  Company events (yearly beer march, go karting, poker nights, awesome Christmas parties).  Lots of work and opportunities for overtime.  Paid for training courses - lift training, fall protection, arc flash, first aid, etc.  Great Mecical and dental plan.  Awesome company to work for.

Action electric remains one of the best companies I have worked for in my 13 years in the electrical field. Continually growing, while maintaining a family feel. Management takes care of the guys and is interested in employees personal development. Wages are on par with the industry standard and the health benefits are good. If I were to relocate back to Vancouver I would be very happy to work here again.

Action is a great place to work as there is room for growth in any position due to their success in winning contracts. Action also holds a lot of fun events and has the best workplace culture I have ever experienced. Management is quick to recognize your hard work and will treat you very fairly. I would definitely recommend anyone with interest in the construction industry to apply here.

The management team is knowledgeable and appreciate honest, quality hard work. Safety and respect are truly priorities, not just buzz words. Great environment to learn and clear path to promotion are highlighted and  offered when available. You can envision your future. 

Very busy, growing company. I enjoy working for a company with high levels of recognition and employee engagement. They put on company events every few months( paint ball, go cart, Canadiens game to name a few). Salaries are industry competitive. Room for advancement of hard workers.
