I typical day at work consisted of everyday duties. Duties that included; ensuring the store was clean for customers, making sure that all the clothing looked appealing (eg. folding t-shirts that have been unfolded by customers), greeting customers and asking if they needed assistance, etc.
I learned through this job very important customer service qualities. It was my first job so I was learning everything for the first time. I believe that Aeropotale was a great company to learn skills from in terms of customer service. I also learned how to operate a cash register, I found this to be very useful because the skill is often required in many jobs, being well experienced with it is very useful. 
Overall the management was good, however after making a comment about cutting my hair to donate to cancer I was told that I would no longer be able to work there because I wouldn't look good enough for the companies standards. I found that comment to be very discriminating and it changed my very on the job and my experience. 
My co-workers were very great people, we all built great relationships with one another and each of them were hard workers which was great to work with.
The hardest part of the job was keeping up with maintaining the appearance of the store, only because it needed constant attention. Even though it was difficult I enjoyed it, I gained time management skills from it and learned how to work efficiently.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the environment. I would go to work and there would always be a positive vibe in the store.

Typically, there are two people opening the store in the morning. A manager and either another manager or sales associate. As a sales associate, I would come in an hour and a half before opening. There are many things to do to prep the store, such as making sure the all of the cleaning was done the night before. It is very important to have a clean cash wrap because customers see most of that, and if it is cluttered, it doesn't leave a good last impression on the customer. We also dust, sweep, and clean out fitting rooms as well as washing the mirrors. The customer experience is key and we want to stick out in their mind, so we spray the store with our original men's cologne scent. Once the stock for the day is delivered, I would start on opening and prepping the replenishment boxes to fill onto the sales floor, while the manager gets the tills ready. Depending on the amount of stock and the amount of people in the store, I would finish the stock until my shift is over, or I would move onto the sales floor and work the cash, fitting rooms, and front of store - greeting customers and helping them find what they need and enjoy their shopping experience.

I enjoyed working at Aeropostale because I was involved in the employee's lives. They confided in me and I helped wherever I could. The problems I had while working for the company were mainly because I bumped heads with the Store Manager and because I felt that there wasn't enough of an initiative to really make sure that the employees were having a good time and overall making them happy and excited to come to work. The assistant managers were amazing and so were the regional and district managers. I believe that Aero has the potential to be something great and although it is a fairly developed company, there is always room for improvement. I truly loved working there and I cannot say the same for my other places of employment.

Another thing I will mention is that I truly hope that Aero will consider giving Sales Leads benefits and a better salary because they do EXACTLY what managers do and sometimes more. They deserve it.

An easy, mindless job that can give you good retail experience for future retail opportunities. You have a good chance to advance to manager positions if you stay for a long time and take the initiative.

One thing I loved about this job was that you can change your availability online at anytime and it will 99% be accepted. You don't need to go in and fill out a form and get it signed. It's to your convenience. You can also switch shifts online with other employees.

They don't give you enough hours every week. The reason I quit was because I was averaging 4-8 hours a week after the holiday season. Usually you'll get a lot of hours during December/early January then bump you down from 30/week to 4 or even no hours for a week. Technically the store can run with just 2 managers running the store, and they'd rather do that then schedule associates during the daytime.

Try to use this job to get the retail cash experience then find another after the holiday season that will give you more hours.

A typical day at work would be working 8am-5pm. I open the store at 10am. Between 8am-10pm I gather paperwork and count cash deposits and many other duties that come with working in retail. The store opens at 10am and customers start coming in.
I have learned a lot since I started at Aero. To be confident in myself, to gain responsibility of opening a  store all by myself and to be a good role model for my part timers. 
The hardest part of my job would be trying to make goal every day. Hitting our sales goal takes skill and determination but when you want it bad enough and you have a good attitude about you, you make goals. Sometimes you even comp, beating last years goal, which is always a bonus!
The most enjoyable part of my job would have to be seeing the numerous kids coming into my store looking for a new outfit and leaving with what they came in for. The continuous look on their faces never get old!!

A typical day at work you would go in and figure out where you were going to placed for that day and you make sure you know how to do that job and make sure you know all the sales and how much money we wanted to make that day. I learned that you need to make sure you know pretty much everything about the store because you have no idea what question someone can come in and ask you and you always want to make sure that the person gets the best deal they can. Make sure that your management knows that you know what you are doing and make sure that if you have a question you can go to them and ask them. The hardest part of the job was making sure you know everything about the sales and which clothes are for that sale and which ones aren't. The most enjoyable part of the job was everything, the atmosphere and everything.

Aeropostale was the absolute best place anyone could have ever worked.

The management team takes their time with training you and constantly supports their associates with positive feedback and constant training.

This company taught me everything I need to know about being a manager and how to run a five million dollar store.

I worked for three different Aeropostale locations in Canada and each store had an amazing store manager, management team, and associates. Each store welcomes you as family from the very start and takes care of you as their own.


I would have dedicated my life to Aeropostale because they dedicated time into raising me as a successful manager. 

Having them close down was the worst mistake anyone could have made.

A typical day at work consisted of helping customers with our product inquiries and working as a cashier. I learned valuable cashier training skills throughout my time at Aeropostale. I was promoted from a greeter to a cashier and then a floorset specialist. I worked after hours to change all the product within our store thus improving the theme of our store every month to meet company standards. The hardest part of the job was working during holiday hours thus helping multiple clients at once and doing more than one task at a time. The most enjoyable part of the job was working as part of a team and building healthy relationships with my co-workers.

-The most enjoyable part was making sales to customers and seeing how happy they are with their purchases.

Aeropostale has taught me how to be an effective leader, how to manage my time so I can get everything done, and most importantly it has taught me that for a work place to run smoothly, you must work as a team.

I started at Aeropostale in high school as a part-time employee, and now I am Assistant Manager. The company loves to promote from inside, which I think is amazing.

Aero has given me the best customer service skills, visual skills, the ability to think on my feet and the passion to want to bring this fierce desire I have into another job.

Although I do love this job, we are closing the Saint John location in a few weeks, (June week 2) and therefore I am seeking part-time employment beggining as soon as possible.
