I enjoyed this position meeting different people, but this was a Charity and my position was dependent on funding which ran out and I was made redundant.
On entering the office I turned on the PC and checked the answer phone, listing and relaying messages.. After checking the daily diary I opened the morning post and took it to the relevant person. Then I looked at the jobs in the job bow and sorted them in order of importance. The phone had to be answered and messages taken during this time. After completion of jobs I reported to the Project Managers to see if any help was needed eg. Internt research, photocopying,filing. I also covered the reception area if the Volunteer was absent. At the end of the day I tended to the outgoing post.

I had a really good time working for age uk surrey, and although this was a few years ago now i want to say that it was a very welcome change of pace from other office environments that i had worked at.
There was onsite and offsite training provided which helped progress on to more parts of the job. Great atmosphere, great staff, great place to work.
Just wish they didn't have budget cuts which unfortunately put an end to the sales team which i was apart of.

This was a temporary post covering a lady who had to go into hospital
I worked there 4 months and really enjoyed their work ethics. They treat you like adults and are a great team.
I was a helpline operator, this included a lot of benefit advice, I spoke to people on the telephone and offered bereavement support, I was also able to Support the homecare team and answer their calls.
I never knew what the call would be about, every call was different, it was rewarding and challenging.

I learned to work and attend to individuals as a person and understand their needs and help.
Managements are supportive
Co workers are very understanding
Hardest part of the job is training individuals who does not understad or cannot speak english
Most enjoyable part of the job is the positive aspect of the learners teaching to achieve their qualifications using range of method to train them

Lovely clients, and supportive caring bosses.

If the client is ill or in hospital, you do not work or get paid.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly and supportive , fun and caring. Clients and staff. Very rewarding.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It varies, from going out to cafes, shops. Light cleaning. Or just a chat! No personal care.

Meeting people & doing a worth while job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Waiting for patients to finish there appointment’s.

Excellent. You are all treated with respect and we all work as a great team.

A joy to meet people and the appreciation you get from the client.

as the home support manager my day at work begins at 8.30am I ensure all things run smoothly during the day with 320 clients and 26 members of staff its a friendly place to work 
the hardest part of the job is covering shifts when someone rings in sick 
the most enjoyable part of the job is covering those shifts making it worth while

I meet and greet visitors that come into the centre. See them to their appointment or help with any enquiries. Take payments and record them and answer the telephone. Take the post and help in the cafe if short of staff.

The work varied but a 0-hour contract was very unreliable.  The most enjoyable part of the job was supporting the clients and getting to know them and seeing the positive impact on their lives. 

No support from upper management. Expected to work  all day without a lunch break and quite often no staff. Many times worked 6 days a week, paid for 5 and earned a lieu day that couldn't be taken as only other paid staff member was idle.
