Depends on the school and place you're assigned to, but most of the time, it can either be fun, helpful and a good place for kids. Other times, you can have a really bad school, partner/team, and the management is kinda either okay or very unhelpful. Some old staff members don't follow the rules and some new ones have no clue what to do. The position is kind of like a glorified camp counselor, but worse. It feels very stressful to have a 15 students per staff monitoring ratio. What if the other staff has to go to the washroom? You have to monitor around 30 students. A group could get into a fight while another slips and falls, while another tries to run outside the school for no reason. 

Do it if you're starting work or are starting in related industries, but anything else, you can find better jobs.

Implements instructional learning activities for the purpose of improving students' academic, physical and social skills
•	Maintains program equipment, work area, students’ files/records (e.g. adapting instructional materials, cleaning work area, taking attendance, checking homework, grading papers, emergency cards, audio visual equipment, etc.)
•	Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments (e.g. reading stories, listening to students reading, language, spelling, facilitating activities, motor perception programs, colors, number charts, checks homework, etc.)

Standing for long. Amd.neof more general staff training

Good eorking culture and positive place plaxw to be . But can be very busy and fast paced 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and productive and everyday is not the same which makes it more a good environment to learn to work with clients

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people here are very nice and helpfull.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When a lot of customers come and there's a long line of people waiting.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very lively and active, there's a lot of moving around and packing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I start by packing a lot, then rotating and doing check-ins at the desk, and by closing time, I'm doing check-outs.

I have been working with ACSA, Newcomers Centre for the past 6 months. Really warm, welcoming and comfortable workspace atmosphere,  thanks to the greatest leadership and kindhearted colleagues! The most important,  I share the company's mission, values and clients-focused approach. My ACSA team is my family! Hopefully ACSA would continue to receive funding to serve more people in need!


Acsa newcomers comer centre is a very organized work place, and it has the best work atmosphere, the  counslors  are very helpful and cooperative, and they try their best to help their clients and provide them with everything they need.I am so lucky to work at acsa newcomers centre and I hope I can find a simillar job when I am done with this one .

Its an experience that everyone should have at one point in their life. Typical 8 hour shifts, with a lunch break, of course. There are some nice kids, but there can always be some troublesome kids, but when do you not see that (all kids have to have a little fun here and there). At the end, it was a good summer where my time was well spent.

Everyone is very friendly and provide you a great work environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The job I received was to host a summer camp for children. The most stressful part was keeping the children entertained, safe, and respectful.

It was an amazing experience being a voluntary receptionist at Agincourt Community Services Association. The people there were very friendly and were always in a good mood. It was a very fun environment to be at and well worth the time.

The people I worked with were patient and understanding with newcomers, and were always ecstatic to help give back to the community. Definitely would recommend as a starting place.
