With my paper route service, I was the delivery newspaper boy who provided the local newspaper every Wednesday and Thursday. At the time, I lived in a condominium, so weekly I delivered to approximately 85-90 houses. It was fun to do as it gave me a job to do after school, as well as the money I received from the customers went straight to my account, none to the actual company itself. I enjoyed this as I was able to meet many neighbours I wouldn't have been able to meet if I didn't have the job as well as I learned about wise spending and saving at a young age. The hardest part at times was managing to do the paper and collect money afterwards as it became very tiresome at times.

its only Wednesday Thursday Friday u have to do it, depending on how many houses you have to deliver to it cant take a while. CONS; your are payed souly by the people you deliver to. the people you deliver to can cancel and there is a long process you have to go through to stop reciveing canceled papers to your house with the rest of the bundles. you are hardly ever rewarded for excellent service.  PROS; you definitely learn independence and some money management skills as well as time management and ways to increase efficiency without losing quality. you also have opportunity to get payed extra from the people you deliver to. you also gain an aptitude for talking to people and familiarizing your self with people. all and all I would say yes to getting it as a first job but not for a long period of time.

Typical day of work includes:
- receiving newspaper from supplier
- arrange newspaper. (put or include any flyers inside)
- deliver door to door
- every friday, go to door to door see if they wish to pay (payment is optional)

Hardest part of the job is delivery during winter. The cart I use to deliver newspaper is very hard to move in the snow.

Most enjoyable part of the job is a chance to meet and greet my neighbours during work. 

the hours are super flexible, the work is pretty light, which justifies the pay. unfortunately the ajax news advertiser falls short when it comes to management. they really just left me to my own devices once I got the job and they would only check up on you if a resident complained about your newspaper delivery service

I delivered newspapers 3 days a week, and went out ever month to collect payment from customers, as a young adolescent I learned a lot in the lines of accountability and responsibility. My carrier representative was very helpful to me if there were any discrepancies with the papers, however there were very few. 

News paper delivery is a really good way to earn some extra cash on the side. Quick and easy to deliver. Unfortunately the pay is not guaranteed, and i usually did not make as much as id like. Most important thing i took from this was experience. i had to be on-time to deliver my news papers.

Ajax News Advertiser is a kind and friendly work environment for children and teens who wish to deliver news papers to their local neighborhood. I was a part of the team for 3 years and never had a problem with my rep.

i was a a delivery boy at 12 years old and it was good experience i learned about how to work and actually having responsibilities. If a son or daughter is interested is interested in becoming a delivery person definitely say yes as it will teach them important life skills at a young age.

Stacking and delivering newspapers in a certain timeframe and after 3 weeks we collect payments from customers

Delivering the papers was fun but it was a nightmare in the colder months. In the beginning it was intimidating going door to door during collection period but that helped me gain confidence. I liked that there were incentives to winning "Carrier of the week".
