You get amazed by the company and how international it is, but it truly means nothing. You are simply treated like a number, a lot of turn around in all departments such as marketing, call center, property management and even in HR! The workloads are massive, and there's not much room to grow, a lot of managers are "too busy" to assist or coach or even mentor their team. Management and HR are not transparent at all. Toxic work environments in departments, people are stressed to come into work where it should be fun and exciting. Working here, is simply "nice" to have on your CV especially if you are an architect or in the construction world, but that's it.

A typical day at work involves getting yelled at by tenants who are not happy with the service you provide because management refuses to do their job. They sit around, drink coffee and tell you to stop complaining when you urge them to help with ANY situation. 

The hardest part of the job was getting hired to fix problems when you absolutely have no power to do so. 

DO NOT WORK HERE! You will be overworked, underpaid, unappreciated, or belittled.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the free food, coffee, alcohol and gym membership. 

Overall, this was the most stressful work environment.

Day to day task is okay,  team work is a no no, like mind your own business, some were so tactless, not sure if they know how to talk, or respond in a professionally  manner. You better talk their language otherwise, you will be the first one to let go. Getting your work done efficiently and effectively, quick problem solver, and so on, these aren't taken into consideration. Better watch your back !
Culture, dominated by one culture,  management wise, don't give a .... of your performance.

The contact center position is horribly managed. You go above and beyond your job description, management doesn't care. Unless you are super into office politics you'll be stuck in this crummy department. Managers have no experience doing the actual job and can't help find solutions to problems.

It's a shame because the rest of the company has a much better vibe and culture. Avoid unless you can work only part-time and have no desire to move within. 

It’s a wonderful place to work, biggest complaint would be salary is lower then industry standard. 

It’s a very fun environment, staff usually hangs out together and enjoy time together even after work hours.

Company is organized but there’s still a lot of room for reinforcing roles and responsibilities.



I learn that working on healthy environment will give you motivation to serve and educate the  resident to be able to improve the service.
Everyone should be working together, from the capital, management and maintenance side so that everyone  will be on the same page.

If you're a serious stable minded individual who is looking for reform, recourse or reality stay away from Akelius.
This company is quick to hire and great at catching you with all the fancy things but once reality sets in you'll see that the work environment is geared to 30yrs and under. Highly recommended to stick to a canadian company.

Nice people with ample room for in company advancement across the globe. Good work life balance with limited to no mandatory overtime. Great benefits and learning opportunities. Hard working individuals who ask questions and learn from their mistakes will find many opportunities here.

over worked an underpaid... not worth the time i spent trying to help and managers don't care. they dump work on you when it's not your job but theirs. and they never fix issues just pass them on and forget about it. don't move into an akelius building they do not care about your concerns only the check you pay for rent every month

This company buys more buildings than they can manage. Not enough man power to manage the buildings. Overzelious low level management. Open air office makes working difficult, half the time is spent socializing. High turnover: very few employees stay long term.
