AlayaCare

AlayaCare was a great concept - they provided many perks in-office, had bright fun colours, snacks, murals, and great staff events.
However, AlayaCare struggled to be efficient for their employees. Questions went unanswered, the system for HR was very disorganized and poorly managed, promotions meant a name change not a salary change, and generally AlayaCare lacked a work/life balance. The amount of under-compensated overtime staff put in here was ridiculous - everyone was very overworked to the point that they stayed late and came in on weekends in addition to normal hours. The system of providing time off in return was very much flawed, and the management just couldn't keep up with the concept. 
The only positive about the place was the non-management staff - what a joy they were to work with!!
AlayaCare is growing quickly, unable to keep up with the demand of their clients feedback and changes. Staff work hard and produce very quickly - but frankly its not worth it unless you enjoy being a workaholic with little company organization. Perhaps they have improved on this front, but don't say I didn't warn you!

AlayaCare is make belief.
What started off as a "family" quickly turned into a corporate never-resting engine, while abusing the "sorry we're a cheap unorganised start-up" card.
Not only do you have an insane amount of work, which is never enough and barely compensated given the extra time and energy you invest in it, you're also asked to manage yourself because nobody is protecting you, or counting your extra hours, or appreciating your work, or helping you stay organised or meet (or push-back) dead-lines.
It's free-for-all in a very stressful environment.
Don't try complaining without a solid data-driven case - your feelings really don't matter. And good luck changing anything because the whole point is profit, not employee satisfaction.

Other than that, most non-managers are delightful people.

From a BDR's perspective, I thoroughly enjoyed the support and help I received to navigate the industry and generate as many leads as possible. You are supported, and the company structure allows you to have conversations with any department and "write your ticket" for career progression. Achieving the role of Account Executive is challenging for a BDR, as the company becomes hyper-dependant on a small handful of people there. If you don't perform more than the hardest working person there, you become stuck. Overall, great company to work with with great values, but hard to climb up the ranks. 

Alayacare is great at making themselves appear a certain way from the outside, this is how they secure funding. Inside the company is a totally different story. They have no clue what is going on with the tech. Everything is based on what sounds good without any actual understand of how it works. Python is a magical fix all in their eyes, nevermind terrible data and no understanding of what microservices actually are. Avoid this place if you value quality of work in any regard.

AlayaCare started off so promising. Engaged team, weekly social get togethers, monthly virtual events. Greed came into the picture as did a change in management. Out went the fun. Timesheets are micromanaged, very low autonomy. No Promotions after 80+ were laid off in Aug. Many are planning an exit strategy.

AlayaCare is a company in hypergrowth in a rapidly growing industry. Like any company in a similar situation, it can be stressful at times as there is a lot to do. However, AlayaCare's top level management softens the blow by creating a work environment that benefits each and every employee and enables them to succeed in their role. 

Great environment with great people. The product is great, however difficult to learn because there is not a lot of guidance. 

Management can do a better job at providing support and also mentorship. It seems like a lot of favouritism goes around. 

Although AlayaCare brags of being a family, the organization is quite cliquey and leadership direction is poor with an emphasis on choosing "favourites" regardless if they are good at their job

Awesome company to work for. One of the fastest growing companies in Toronto and a very exciting time to join. If you are a competitive individual you will thrive at AlayaCare.

Great place to work from. really love it. Non-toxic environment and awesome. Would really recommend it to everyone who wants to work in a beautiful place
