During my ~15 years of experience in the data communications industry, I have successfully worked with and supported several leading-age ATM/Frame Relay/Ethernet carrier-grade multi-service products, as well as multiple network management and TCP/IP platforms.

My work experience allowed me to work closely with some of the largest tier-one carrier customers in the industry, managing each customer as a separate project and coordinating all activities regarding those customers with the appropriate personnel at each level of the Support, Design, and Quality Assurance groups.

I really enjoyed working at Alcatel-Lucent(former Newbridge).
I was lucky enough to work there for over 20 years.
I got excellent managers, excellent co-workers.
Alcatel gave me the opportunity to grow professionally.
The work environment is very good.
The hardest period was Newbridge because it was extremely busy but at the same time it was the best time because I had the opportunity to deal with so many people internally & externally.

This company is "global" yet all decisions and strategy are born in France and don't necessarily translate to the North American market. Unwilling to advertise, only "market" to the public. Very little innovative thought is put into running the company, despite how inventive the product set. Employees were not even given access to the majority of the products they were expected to sell.

Typical day was working from home as the office was in Ottawa. I did the same work almost everyday for the last 3 years as there was not much room for change or advancement. Management was not always available and not very forthcoming with information on the cooperate front. Hardest part was maintaining our large code base. The most enjoyable part was working in teams and socializing.

Loved working there even though contract. Learned so much and did quite well in the position. Department closed down, so have to relocate to another job. Co-workers were great to work with, had lunches together, kept in contact outside work. 

It was an alright place to work, I learned a lot at this job, from SAP, PGI, Waybilling, and all the basic Office Admin duties. Hardest part of the day is when we had to meet tight deadlines and there was lots to be done, but managed to get it done on time always.

- Was trained as Subject Matter Expert on SAP SD Modules
- Management was the best ever seen - very classic.

The company retained a number of very knowledgeable employees thus fostering creativity and hard work in most of the teams.

After four months i worked I chose to be line leader make me so happy and proud of myself I got the employee of the year I been i couple of classes for business improvement at the company  it helped so much.

Had a great time learning from the wireless team as I was given the task to work on an embedded pwm controller for power supplies. The team was very helpful and friendly with questions and suggestions.
